Before You Begin
PleasereadthisOperator’sManualpriortousingyourAirLightHighspeedHandpiece.
Theuseofthisproductisintendedforusebytraineddentalpersonnel.Werecom-
mendthatyouretainthismanualforfuturereference.
Safety Information
• Highspeedhandpiecesshouldbesterilizedaftereachpatienttopreventany
transmissionofinfectiveorganismssuchasHIVorHepatitisB.
• Suitable hygienic measures must be taken to prevent cross contamination
betweenpatients,operatorsandotherpersonnel.
• Onlyoperatethishighspeedhandpiecewhentheburisproperlyinsertedin
thechuck.Donotattempttoextendthelengthoftheburbyimproperpositioningin
thechuck.

Handpiece Installation (fig.1)
Note:Thishandpieceshouldonlybeusedondentaldeliverysystemsthatprovidefil-
teredandregulatedairandwater.Filtrationof25micronsisrecommended.
Water & Air Adjustment
CoolantWater:Adjustthewatervolumeatthedeliveryunittoobtainasatisfactory
spraymist.
Air Pressure :Theoperatingpressureis35psi.Itishighlyrecommendedthatthe
operatingpressureinitiallybesetusingahandpiecepressuregaugeduetothepres-
surelosscausedbythehandpiecetubingmaterialandlength.
Warning:Donotexceedrecommendedoperatingpressureasthiswillshortenturbine
lifeandmaycauseadditionaldamagetothehandpiece.
Handpiece Operation
Usestandardlengthconcentricdiamondandcarbideburswith.0628”nominaldiam-
eterfrictiongripshanksdesignedforhighspeedhandpieces.
Useonlyburs with hardened temperedsteelshanks.Beforeuse, verify concentric
rotationbyoperatinghandpieceoutsidetheoralcavityinasafeplace.
Warning:Donotusebursthatproduceexcessivenoiseordonotrunconcentrically.
Donotusebursthataremodified,eccentricallydesigned,orhavebentor‘soft’(non-
heattreated)shanks.
Friction Grip Bur Specifications (fig.2)
Forapplicationdetailsandoperatingdataofthedifferentrotaryinstrumentspleaserefer
totheinformationprovidedbythemanufacturer.Thepushbuttonautochuckturbineshave
thefollowingburrequirements:
UseonlyinstrumentswhoseshankscomplywiththerequirementsofISO1797-1.
• Shankdiameterof1.59—1.60mm
• Overalllengthuptomax.25mm
• Overalllengthuptomax.21mm(mini)

CAUTION! Instrumentsthatdifferfromthespecifieddatamustnotbeused.Otherwisethe
mechanismoftheclampingsystemcouldbedamaged.

Cleaning and Lubrication
LED Light Cleaning(fig.5)
CleantheLEDlightusingisopropylalcoholor
otherdisinfectionagents.Neveruseaclean-
ingagentthathasanammonium,chlorine,or
acidbase.
External Cleaning
Clean debris from the external surface by
using isopropyl alcohol or other disinfecting
Manual Lubrication
After cleaning the handpiece ap-
ply lubricant BEFORE autoclaving
(Fig.6).Useonlyahighqualitylubri-
cantsuchasBeyesLube.Remove
thehandpiecefromthetubingand
Place2–3dropsofBeyesLubein
thedriveairtubeofthehandpiece.
Whilelookingattheconnectorend
(threaded end) of the handpiece,
theDriveAirtubeisthesmallerof
thetwolargetubes.Thelargertube
is the Exhaust Tube (no lubricant
required). Insure the lubricant is
Sterilization
Thehandpiecemustbecleanedandsterilizedbetweenpatientuses.
Awrappedhandpieceshouldbesteamsterilizedat132°Cforaminimumof10min-
utesorat121°Cforaminimumof50minutes.Donotexceed135°C.
Anunwrappedhandpieceshouldbesteamsterilizedat132°Cforaminimumof8min-
utesorat121°Cforaminimumof30minutes.Donotexceed135°C.
Note: Anunwrappedhandpieceneedstobeusedimmediatelyorsterilityisnotmain-
tained.
Donotexceedthesterilizermanufacturer’sguidelinesforloadcapacity.
CAUTION: Use steam sterilization exclusively for complete sterility.  Never dry heat
sterilize,ultrasonicallyclean,orexposehandpieceorswiveltochemicaldisinfectionor
coldsterilizationby:
• ImmersiontechniquesorSurgicalmilk
• Surfacewipes,Handsoaps,orDetergents
• Surfacesprays
• Sterilizationbagscontainingdisinfectants
Troubleshooting
Problem:NOLIGHT,REDUCEDLIGHT,ORINTERMITTENTLIGHT
Cause: AirPressureisbelowtheminimumpressure35PSI 
Correction:Increasetheairpressureinyourdeliveryunit.
Problem: YELLOWISHLIGHT
Cause: DebrisonLEDsurfaces  
Correction: Cleanallexposedopticalsurfaces.(RefertoCleaning.)
Limited Warranty
BeyesDentalCanadaherebywarrantsagainstdefectinmaterialandworkman-
ship that for a period of 12 months (six months for turbine) from the date of
purchase,thisproductwillperformsatisfactorilyundernormaluseandservice.
Nowarrantyclaimcanbeinferredhere,aswearmayoccurearlierorlaterthan
indicated above depending on use, frequency of sterilization and frequency of
maintenance.Beyesshallundernocircumstancesbeliableforincidentalorcon-
sequentialdamagesordamageduetoimproperuseormaintenance.
This Warranty is subject to the following conditions

tivepart/scoveredinthiswarranty.
Iftheconditionsaremet,thedefectiveitemmustbereturnedtoanauthorized

CAUTION: Never depress the autochuck
endcapbuttonorrestthe end cap against
any part of the oral cavity during operation.
Depressingtheendcapwhileaburisrotat-
ing can activate the chuck mechanism and
resultin the end cap button excessive heat
and/orlossofburretention.
Bur Insertion (fig.3)
1. Insert bur into autochuck until resistance is
felt.
2.Depresstheautochuckendcapbutton and
continue to feed-in the bur until it clicks and
stops.
3.Releasetheautochuckendcapbutton.(Al-
wayspullontheburafterithasbeeninstalled
toconfirmthatitisseatedproperly).
4.Neverdepresstheautochuckendcapwhen
theburisrotating.
Bur Removal (fig.4)
1.Grasphandpiecefirmlysoyourthumbtouch-
estheendcapoftheautochuckandpushuntil
aslight‘click’isnoticed.
2.Pullburstraightout.
3.Releaseendcap.
