Installation Instructions
Thank you for purchasing the Solar Yard Shield™ – Ultrasonic/
Sonic Bird, Animal and Pest Repeller. For best results please
read these instructions before using and retain them for
future reference.
Solar Yard Shield™ Overview:
Featuring 3 modes of operation, Solar Yard Shield™ is a
versatile and effective bird and animal repellent! Unlike
other pest repellents that only offer one repellent mode,
Solar Yard Shield™ offers three pest repellent modes to
ensure your property is protected from birds, insects, deer,
raccoons, armadillos, opossums, skunks, cats, dogs, rodents,
bats, geese. Solar Yard Shield™ is ideal for use in: gardens,
backyards, open patios, courtyards, boats, docks and is
designed for long term use, allowing you to place it and leave
it to repel pests. It is weatherproof allowing it to work year-
round.
CAUTION
Persons with pacemakers please consult your doctor
before use.
Using the Solar Yard Shield™:
To operate, open the back cover using a Phillips head
screwdriver and refer to the diagram below. Remove the tab
/ plastic barrier from the rechargeable batteries to allow
contact. Normally, the Solar Yard Shield™ will be in standby
mode. Only when motion is detected (range of 30’ and arc of
110 degrees) will the Solar
Yard Shield™ activate.
NOTE: Before first use,
please allow two full days
of sunlight to charge the
batteries while the Solar
Yard Shield™ is in the
“OFF” position.
Mode 1 – Audible Repellant - uses a series of seven different
recorded sounds (GUN SHOT / SIREN 1 / BOAR SQUEAL /
SIREN 2 / BANGING SOUNDS / SIREN 3 / DOG BARKING). The
Solar Yard Shield™ will cycle through these sounds, preventing
animals from getting used to any one sound and increasing its
effectiveness. Adjust the volume as needed.
Mode 2 - Ultrasonic/infrasonic sound waves – uses a
selectable scale of ultrasonic and infrasonic waves ranging
from 12Hz to 35KHz. Refer to the control panel marking and
set the frequency for the desired pest.
Mode 3 - combines modes 1 and 2 and uses both the audible
sounds and the ultrasonic/infrasonic sound waves.
Coverage is up to 5,000 sq ft.; the lower the frequency, the
greater the coverage. For dense foliage areas or to cover large
areas, multiple units may be necessary.
Night time operation in any mode - the Solar Yard Shield™
contains a light sensor that automatically switches the
repelling to flashing LED lights ONLY. Regardless of which
mode it is in, Solar Yard Shield™ will operate silently at night
using 320 lumen of flashing LED light to repel pests.
