1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
2. Only use the air purifier as described in this manual.
3. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC
electrical outlet.
4. Remove all packaging material, including the plastic wrap over the filter,
before use.
5. If its cord or plug is damaged, the manufacturer must replace it. Do not
attempt to use a substitute adapter as it could result in hazard and/or
injury. Contact customer service for further assistance.
6. Check the household voltage to ensure it matches the appliance’s rated
specification.
7. Do not let cord touch any hot surface and make sure that it does not
hang over a table edge or counter.
8. Place air purifier on a firm, flat, level surface.
9. Do not use this product on wet surfaces. This air purifier is not intended
for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never
locate the air purifier where it may fall into a bathtub or other water
container.
10. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
11. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
12. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove screws. Do not
attempt to repair or replace parts except for filters. If the servicing
instructions of an air cleaner require access to parts that could result
in a risk of electric shock, the servicing instructions shall be preceded

13. Unplug the appliance before cleaning it. Wipe it with a soft cloth.
14. Unplug the air purifier before removing the filter.
15. Do not immerse the appliance or the power cord in water or other

16. Do not use any detergents, glass or household cleaner, furniture polish,
gasoline, paint thinner or other solvent to clean any part of the air
purifier.
17. If liquid spills on the unit, it can cause serious damage. Switch it o and

top of the unit.
19. Do not run the cord under carpeting. Do not cover the cord with throw
rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or
appliances. Arrange the cord away from trac areas and so that people
cannot trip over it.
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, DO NOT use this air purifier
with any solid-state speed control devices.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the
risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician.
WARNING: Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. If the plug does not
fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician to install the proper outlet.
Double insulated appliances are constructed throughout with two separate
layers of electrical insulation or one single layer of reinforced insulation
between the user and the appliance’s electrical system. Products built with this
insulation system are not intended to be grounded. As a result, this appliance is
equipped with a two-prong plug which permits it to be used without concern for
maintaining ground connection.
NOTE: Double insulation does not take the place of the normal safety
precautions when operating this appliance. The secondary insulation
system is for protection against injury resulting from a possible failure of
the primary insulation within the product.

POWER CORD SUPPLY
1. If the power supply cord is too short, do not use an extension cord. Have a
qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance.
a. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal
to or greater than the electrical rating of the appliance. The longer
cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter
top or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over
unintentionally.
NOTE: Neither BLACK+DECKER nor the dealer can accept any liability for damage to
the product or personal injury resulting from failure to observe the electrical
connection procedures.
WARNING: RISK OF FIRE
It is important that the plug fits tightly into the wall outlet. If the plug does not fit
securely and appears to be loose, it should not be used. Have a licensed electrician
replace the receptacle.
WARNING:
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) who have
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe
use of the appliance and they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by

OPERATING CONDITIONS
The air purifier should be operated between a temperature range of 64°F (18°C)-
140°F (60°C) and a relative humidity under 90%.
NOTE: If the unit is used outside of these operating conditions, its performance may
be aected.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the air purifier for the first time, remove all packaging material, including
the plastic bag the filter is wrapped in.
NOTE: Refer to CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section of this manual for
information on how to access and install the filter.
Place the air purifier on a firm, level surface, making sure nothing is obstructing the
airflow on any side of the air purifier.
Plug the power cord into a 120V AC electrical outlet. The POWER light will
illuminate in red. Touch POWER to turn ON the air purifier. It will illuminate blue and
the air purification speed will default to AUTO mode.

CONTROL PANEL
Turn ON/OFF buttons
1. Plug in the power cord, the machine is in standby state, and the color of ON/
OFF indicator is red.
2. Press the “ON”/“OFF” button to enter the startup state. The color of the
“ON”/“OFF” indicator is blue.
Auto mode is turned on by default after startup.
3. Press the “ON/OFF” button again, and the machine will be shut down, put into
standby mode, and the indicator light is red for turn ON/OFF.
Auto mode key
In Auto mode, the fan speed is automatically set according to the air quality in the
room.
Fan speed
There are four fans speeds. LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH and MAX settings. They will be
labeled from lowest to highest 1-2-3-4 to indicate the different speeds.
AUTO Mode and fan speed cannot run simultaneously. When the fan speed setting is
on, the color indicator will be blue. When the fan speed setting is o, the color
indicator will be white.
To change the speed from AUTO mode, touch the speed button continuously to
scroll through LOW MEDIUM HIGH and MAX settings.
To shut o the unit at any time, touch and hold the POWER button until all
indicator lights go OFF. The red power button will be illuminated. Unplug the air
purifier.

SET UP & USE
Anion Function
Anion function starts after the power is turned on, and the icon is lit. It will
constantly run. Anion function creates negative ions which attaches to dust,
allergens, odors and removes them from the air.
Clean Filter
When the icon slowly ashes, the lters need to be cleaned. All lters can be
cleaned except the HEPA Filter. Press the air volume adjustment button for 4
seconds to reset and return to normal operation.
Sleep Mode
Sleep mode will activate in AUTO Mode depending on light sensitivity in the
room. Sleep mode will not work when in manual mode.
Check Filter/Filter Cover
Icon will light up and blink red when the lter is not installed correctly or the
cover to the unit is not secured. Once issue is corrected the icon will shut off.
Ultraviolet Light
Eliminates viruses, bacteria, mold and mildew.
TVOC/PM2.5 Air Quality Indicator
Indicator light which will change color according to the air quality detected by
the sensor.

HEPA Filter Replacement
After 2,160 hours of use, REPLACE FILTER indicator light will ash when the
HEPA/Activated Carbon lter needs to be replaced. Once replaced, press the air
volume control button for 5 seconds to reset.
WARNING: Do not run the unit without the filters in place.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
• Be sure to unplug from the electrical supply source before cleaning appliance or
changing the filter.
• Do not use liquids to clean the air purifier.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the air purifier for cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior of the air purifier with a soft, dry cloth. Make sure the particle
sensor does not become clogged with dust.
• If necessary, wipe only the exterior housing with a damp cloth, then immediately
dry it.
The Air Purifier is equipped with four dierent filters:
1. Pre-filter (washable)
2. Electrostatic Precipitator Filter (washable)
3. Ozone Removal Filter (non-washable)
4. HEPA/Activated carbon filter (non-washable)
Cleaning the Pre-Filter
Use vacuum cleaner to remove dust. Wash with mild soap and water. Rinse
thoroughly and dry completely before installing back into unit.
Cleaning the Electrostatic Precipitation Filter
Spray with non-abrasive detergent. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. Submerge in warm
water. Shake well, remove from water. Continue to repeat until clean. Rinse
thoroughly and dry completely before installing back into unit.
Cleaning the Air Inlet and Outlet Grill
Use soft brush to move dust and debris.
Cleaning Voc Sensor Opening (volatile organic compounds)
The VOC sensor is located on the side of the air purier
Use a soft cloth to clean dust and debris around sensor opening.
Cleaning Dust Sensor
Open the sensor cover. Use a wet swab to clean the lens and air intakes and outlets.
Use a dry cotton swab to remove water stains. The dust sensor should be cleaned
every two months for maximum eciency. Do not use a swab on any other area than
the dust sensor.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
FILTER INSTALLATION
Your air purifier comes with a 4 stage (Pre-filter, Electrostatic Precipitator Filter,
Ozone Removal Filter, HEPA/Activated Carbon Filter) Filtration system.
To access the filters:
1. Remove the back panel by pulling the top outwards with both hands.
2. The filters are numbered. Slide out the filter that needs to be cleaned or
replaced.
3. Make sure washable filters are completely dry before re-installing back into unit.
4. Slide the filter back in to the appropriate slot.
The FILTER REPLACEMENT indicator light will illuminate after 2,160 hours of use.
The HEPA/Activated Carbon filter will need to be replaced.
You may need to replace it sooner if you are using the air purifier in an environment
with poor air quality. If you notice that the filter does not appear visibly clean, or air
purification seems to have decreased, the filters should be replaced.
NOTE: After replacing the filters, touch and hold the light for 5 seconds to reset.
The REPLACE FILTER indicator light will turn o and the other control panel
lights will illuminate.
WARNING: Do not run the unit without the filters in place.
STORAGE
If you are not going to use the air purifier for a long time, make sure it is clean and
dry. Wrap the filter in plastic. Store in a cool dry place.

REPLACEMENT FILTER
Use Replacement Filter Model AF5 to purchase a set of
replacement filters containing 2 TRUE HEPA/Activated Carbon Filters.
It is recommended that you check with the retailer where you
purchased your air purifier, or online retailers.

A) Check to make sure that the humidifier is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove
the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again securely.
B) Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker. If these seem to be
operating properly, test the outlet with another appliance.

the product will be free from defects in material,
parts and workmanship for the period designated for
this product. The warranty commences the day the
product is purchased and covers up to a period of 1
year (12 months) for labor/1 year (12 months) for parts
(manufacturing defects only).

replace the defective product with either a new
or remanufactured unit equivalent to your original
purchase during the warranty period.

n’eectuez aucun entretien autre que celui contenu dans les instructions

13. Débranchez l’appareil avant de le nettoyer. Essuyez-le avec un chion doux.
14. Débranchez le purificateur d’air avant de retirer le filtre.
15. Ne plongez pas l’appareil ou le cordon d’alimentation dans l’eau ou d’autres
liquides.
16. N’utilisez pas de détergents, de nettoyants pour vitres ou ménagers, de produits
à polir pour meubles, d’essence, de diluant à peinture ou d’autres solvants pour
nettoyer n’importe quelle partie du purificateur d’air.
17. Si du liquide se renverse sur l’appareil, cela peut causer de graves dommages.
Éteignez-le et débranchez-le immédiatement.
18. Ne pas bloquer, couvrir ou obstruer les bouches d’aération. Ne placez rien sur le
dessus de l’appareil.
19. Ne faites pas passer le cordon sous un tapis. Ne couvrez pas le cordon avec
des carpettes, des tapis de course ou des revêtements similaires. Ne faites pas
passer le cordon sous des meubles ou des appareils électroménagers. Disposez
le cordon loin des zones de circulation et de manière à ce que les personnes ne
puissent pas trébucher dessus.
Pour réduire le risque d’incendie ou de choc électrique, NE PAS utiliser
ce purificateur d’air avec des dispositifs de contrôle de vitesse à semi-
conducteurs.
20. N’utilisez pas le purificateur d’air à l’extérieur.
