compatibles; 5-pin DIN or mini 6-pin

Broadcast video from a central source to up to four remote monitors
via the CAT5 VGA Video Splitter.
OVERVIEW
Instantly broadcast the information on your computer’s
video screen to users in remote locations. The CAT5 VGA
Video Splitters let you demonstrate products, present data,
monitor security, or educate and train users. And all you need
is Category 5 twisted-pair cable—not expensive coax!
• Demonstrate your products in the showroom,
boardroom, window display, exhibition, or trade show.
• Broadcast important real-time data such as flight
information at an airport, stock prices in the bank’s
branch office, or news headlines in a TV or radio station.
• Monitor security stations in a plant, warehouse, or
business entrance.
• Educate or train people via remote monitors in a
classroom or company.
The host module is a central unit that connects to your
local CPU. CAT5 VGA Video Splitters are available in 2- or 4-
port host modules with a 100–240-VAC autosensing power
supply.
You’ll also need up to 2 or 4 remote units. Remote standard
units connect to your video screens in locations up to 360 ft.
(109.7 m) away from the CPU. Remote long-range splitters
provide distances up to 820 ft. (249.9 m) from the CPU.
All the splitters work with Category 5 twisted-pair cable,
so they’re ideal for use with your updated copper network.
The VGA Video Splitter supports IBM®PC, PS/2®, and 100%
compatibles; 5-pin DIN or mini 6-pin keyboards; SVGA, VGA,
XGA, and monochrome monitors; and serial PS/2 bus mice.
It even supports high-resolution monitors (1280 x 1024).
It’s easy to install—just plug and play. No software
installation is required. And the splitter doesn’t conflict
with software running on your computer.
Cascade multiple splitters to increase the number of
monitors you can broadcast to.
Our Composite Adapters enable the CAT5 VGA Video
Splitters to work with composite video sources such as VCRs,
DVD players, or video cameras.

Recognize any of these situations?
• You wait more than 30 minutes to get through
to a vendor’s tech support.
• The so-called “tech” can’t help you or gives you
the wrong answer.
• You don’t have a purchase order number and the
tech refuses to help you.
• It’s 9 p. m. and you need help, but your vendor’s
tech support line is closed.
According to a survey by Data Communications
magazine, 90% of network managers surveyed say
that getting the technical support they need is extremely
important when choosing a vendor. But even though
network managers pay anywhere from 10 to 20% of their
overall purchase price for a basic service and support
contract, the technical support and service they receive falls
far short of their expectations—and certainly isn’t worth
what they paid.
At Black Box, we guarantee the best value and the
best support. You can even consult our Technical Support
Experts before you buy if you need help selecting just
the right component for your application.
Don’t waste time and money—call Black Box today.
Why Buy From Black Box? Exceptional Value.
