OVERVIEW
Most computer monitors have built-in speakers for audio—
but most video splitters only support video. The Compact
CAT5 Audio/Video Splitter enables you to send both stereo
audio and video from a CPU to multiple monitors and
speakers.
The Compact CAT5 Audio/Video Splitter is easy to install—
you need a splitter for the CPU end plus a receiver for each
remote station. Plug in the cables and you’re ready to go.
There’s no software to install.
Because the Compact CAT5 Audio/Video Splitter uses
ordinary CAT5 cable, you may even be able to use it with the
cabling you already have installed!
The receiver unit (AC155A-R2) features a screw-adjustable
potentiometer that provides precise video signal compen-
sation according to the length of the input cable to restore
signal loss on long cables. Differential signaling provides
resistance to EMI interference.
The splitter supports video up to 1280 x 1024 at refresh
rates from 60 to 85 Hz.
The splitter comes in both 2-channel and 8-channel
versions. If you need to broadcast to more than eight
monitors, you can easily cascade the splitter by daisychaining
the VGA/Audio Out ports to the VGA/Audio In ports of
another AC154A-2 or AC154A-8.
Video connectors are buffered; audio connectors are
passthrough.
The splitters are ruggedly built and encased in a sturdy
metal housing. They feature ears with screw holes so they can
be permanently bolted into place. Their compact size is ideal
for areas where space is limited.
QUICK AND EASY INSTALLATION
• Connect the VGA-IN and AUDIO IN connectors to your
computer’s video and speaker ports using the supplied
cables.
• Connect the local monitor and speakers to the splitter’s
VGA+A and AUDIO OUT connectors.
• Connect the supplied 12-VDC power adapter to the power
input connector on the splitter.
• Connect one or more receivers to the splitter using CAT5
cable.
• Connect the remote monitor and speakers to each receiver.
Attach the power adapter to the receiver.
• You’re done!
