Create an email account
To set up an email account
Click the menu button.
Click Setup.
Click E-mail Settings.
Follow the instructions by entering your email address and password.
Transfer Contacts:
To transfer your contacts, you must have them on your address book on your computer.
You can use any address book software such as Mircosoft® Outlook®. You will then have
to download the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager Software from www.BlackBerry.com to
import your contacts to your phone.
BlackBerry® Messenger:
BBM™ is an instant messaging that allows you to text chat with other BlackBerry
smartphones users free of charge as long you have a BlackBerry data plan. BBM™ also
has the capability to transfer pictures, files, voice notes and even GPS locations to your
BBM™ contacts.

BBM™ is pre-installed on your BlackBerry smartphone.
Here’s how to find it and open it:
On your Home Screen, click on the Instant Messaging folder.
Note: If you don’t see the Instant Messaging folder, you may be viewing your default home
screen with only six icons. If so, click the Menu key to display all your other smartphone
applications.
Click the BBM™ icon.
Want it moved? Here’s how to put BBM™ on your Home Screen.
Highlight the BBM™ icon.
Click Menu and select Move to Folder, then select Home.
To change its place on the Home Screen, highlight the BBM™ icon and select Move. Use the
trackball or trackpad to select your location. Be sure to place it in one of the first 6 positions if
you want to see it on your default Home Screen.
How to add a contact:
Use barcodes:
Want to add a new BBM™ contact quickly? Simply scan their BBM™ barcode with the camera on
your BlackBerry smartphone, or let them scan yours.

1. On the BBM™ contact list screen, press the Menu key and click My Profile.
2. Click Display My Barcode.
Scan a barcode
1. On the BBM™ contact list screen, press the Menu key and click Invite Contact.
2. Click Scan a Person’s Barcode, then click Continue..
3. Hold your smartphone so that all four corners of the barcode you are scanning appear on your
device screen. Continue to hold the smartphone until you hear a beep.

Use a PIN or email:
Want to add a contact who isn’t with you right now? Invite them using their PIN or email address.
1. On the BBM contact list screen, press the Menu key.
2. Click Invite Contact.
3. Click Enter a Person’s Email address, PIN, or Name. Type part or all of the contact’s
information.
4. Click on the contact information.
5. If necessary, change the Send Using field and/or Category fields.
6. Click Send.
Find out you PIN:
To find out your PIN,
Click on the Menu button.
Click Options.
Click Status. Your PIN will be listed there.
Wireless update:
Here are the instructions on how to update the latest available BlackBerry software
1. On the Home screen, click the Wireless Update icon. If you do not have the Wireless
Update icon, on the Home screen, click the Options icon. Click Advanced Options. Click
Wireless Update.
2. Complete the instructions on the screen.

Support and Troubleshoot:
Please note that most issues are resolved by performing a soft reset on your device. To perform
a soft reset:
Press the ALT + RIGHT SHIFT (CAP) + DELETE keys at the same time.
The screen will go black for a second, and the device will reset.
