
INSTALLATION AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PACKAGING - Unpack the heater and ensure all
packaging material is removed. The packaging should
be disposed according to the current legislation
regarding waste disposal.
Retain these instructions for future use.
LOCATION - This heater is intended to be mounted
horizontally at either high level or low level. When the
heater is installed in an area to which personnel have
access the SWG protective guard must be used. When
energised the stainless steel tube and ns become hot
and contact must be avoided. A minimum clearance of
300mm above the heater should be allowed. Ensure
the heater is installed where it cannot be covered;
the minimum 300mm area around the heater must be
observed.
The heater must be xed securely to the wall or oor
using the mounting brackets provided.
Please Note: This heater is not suitable in areas used
by young children and the elderly.
This heater is intended for normal space heating
applications. It is NOT designed for areas containing
ammable or explosive gases.
CONNECTIONS - Remove the four screws which
retain the terminal box cover and terminate cable
through a suitably approved connector. Prepare the
cable and connect the Earth wire coloured Green/
Yellow to the appropriate earth screw marked .
Connect the live wire coloured Brown to the terminal
marked L, connect the Neutral wire coloured Blue to
the terminal marked N. Ensure the tightness and
integrity of all connections and ensure the cable gland
is also securely and correctly tightened, then secure
the terminal box cover using the four screws.
THIS HEATER MUST BE EARTHED.
The SWD-U Series 1000W, 1500W, 2000W, 3000W &
4000W can be wired 230V or 400V. See Figs 1, 2 & 3.
OPERATION - Energise the heater and if a thermostat
is tted, turn the thermostat knob clockwise to activate
the thermostat, the heater will get hot very quickly. As
previously advised the heater becomes very hot and
direct contact must be avoided with the outer sheath.
THIS HEATER IS NON-USER SERVICEABLE.

Prior to any periodic cleaning or servicing always ENSURE THE SUPPLY TO THE HEATER IS
COMPLETELY ISOLATED.

intended to operate for many years problem free.
If any doubt, consult a qualied electrician or H & V engineer.
WARRANTY - Your BN Thermic heater is guaranteed for a period of one year from the date of
purchase. We will repair or replace at our discretion any part found to be defective. BN Thermic cannot
assume any consequential liability. This guarantee in no way prejudices your rights under common law
and is offered as an addition to consumer liability rights.
