bl damag to th on-board comput r.
fMake sure to not be distracted by the display of the
on-board computer. If you do not focus xclusiv ly on
th traffic, you risk b ing involv d in an accid nt. If you
want to mak ntri s in your on-board comput r oth r
than switching th assistanc l v l, stop and nt r th
appropriat data.
fRead and observe the safety warnings and instructions
in all operating instructions of the eBike system and in

Assembly
Inserting and removing the battery pack
For ins rting and r moving th Bik batt ry pack in/from th
Bik , pl as r ad and obs rv th batt ry pack op rating in-
structions.
Inserting and removing the on-board computer
(see figure A)
To insert th on-board comput r 3, slid it from th front into
th hold r 4.
To remove th on-board comput r 3, pr ss th lock latch 14
and slid th on-board comput r toward th front out of th
hold r 4.

fRemove the on-board computer when you park the
eBike.
It is possibl to s cur th on-board comput r against r mov-
al in th hold r. To do so, r mov th hold r 4 from th han-
dl bar. Put th on-board comput r in th hold r. Scr w th
locking scr w 15 (thr ad M3, 8 mm long) from b low into th
thr ad provid d in th hold r. Mount th hold r back onto th
handl bar.
Operation
Initial Operation
Requirements
Th Bik syst m can only b activat d wh n th following
r quir m nts ar m t:
– A suffici ntly charg d batt ry pack is ins rt d (s batt ry
pack op rating instructions).
– Th on-board comput r is prop rly ins rt d in th hold r
(s “Ins rting and r moving th on-board comput r”,
pag English–1).
– Th sp d s nsor is conn ct d prop rly (s driv unit
op rating instructions).
Switching the eBike System On/Off
Options for switching on th Bik syst m:
– If th on-board comput r is alr ady switch d on wh n you
ins rt it into th hold r, th n th Bik syst m will b
switch d on automatically.
– Wh n th on-board comput r and th Bik batt ry pack
ar ins rt d, bri fly pr ss th On/Off button 5 of th on-
board comput r.
– Wh n th on-board comput r is ins rt d, pr ss th On/Off
button of th Bik batt ry pack (s batt ry pack op rat-
ing instructions).
Th driv is activat d as soon as you st p on th p dals ( x-
c pt for in th push assistanc function or in assistanc l v l
“OFF”). Th motor output d p nds on th s ttings of th as-
sistanc l v l on th on-board comput r. As soon as th sys-
t m is activat d, “Active Line/Performance Line” will ap-
p ar bri fly on th display.
As soon as you stop p daling wh n in normal op ration, or as
soon as you hav r ach d a sp d of 25/45 km/h, th assis-
tanc from th Bik driv is switch d off. Th driv is auto-
matically r -activat d as soon you start p daling again and th
sp d is b low 25/45 km/h.
Options for switching off th Bik syst m:
– Pr ss th On/Off button 5 of th on-board comput r.
– Switch th Bik batt ry pack off by its On/Off button (s
batt ry pack op rating instructions).
– R mov th on-board comput r out of its hold r.
If th Bik is not mov d and no button is pr ss d on th on-
board comput r for 10 minut s, th Bik syst m will shut
down automatically in ord r to sav n rgy.
eShift (optional)
Shift is th int gration of automatic g ar shifting syst ms in-
to th Bik syst m. To support th rid r in th b st way pos-
sibl , th function indications and th basic s ttings m nu
hav b n adapt d for th “eShift” function.
eShift with NuVinci H|Sync
Th optimum g ar for th r sp ctiv sp d is automatically
s t according to a pr -d fin d d sir d cad nc . In manual
mod you can choos b tw n multipl g ars.
In th “ NuVinci Cadence” mod you can us th “–” or
“+” button on th op rating unit to incr as or d cr as th
d sir d cad nc . If you hold down th “–” or “+” button, th
cad nc will incr as or d cr as in st ps of fiv . Th d sir d
cad nc is shown on th display.
In th “ NuVinci Gear” mod you can us th “–” or “+”
button on th op rating unit to switch back and forth b tw n
s v ral d fin d transmission ratios. Th ngag d transmis-
sion ratio (g ar) is shown on th display.
eShift with SRAM DD3 Pulse
Th g ar hub of th SRAM DD3 Puls works on a sp d-d -
p nd nt basis. R gardl ss of which g ar is ngag d on th d -
raill ur g ars, on of th thr g ars of th g ar hub will auto-
matically b ngag d “ Gear: Auto”.
Th ngag d g ar will b shown bri fly on th display wh n-
v r th g ar of th g ar hub is shift d.
If th Bik is brought to a standstill from a sp d of mor
than 10 km/h, th syst m can automatically switch back to a
s t “Start gear”. Th “Start gear” can b s t in th basic s t-
tings m nu (s “Displaying/Adapting Basic S ttings”, pag
English–5).
In th “ Gear” mod you can us th “–” or “+” button on
th op rating unit to switch back and forth b tw n s v ral
d fin d transmission ratios. Th ngag d transmission ratio
(g ar) is shown on th display.
In th “ Gear” manual mod , th syst m can also automati-
cally switch back to a s t “Start gear”.

For Shimano Shift you us th Shimano control l v r to shift
g ars.
