1. Turn off the printer by the power switch
located on the bottom of the right side
of the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the rear of
the printer.
3.Allow printer to cool 30 minutes.
4. Remove the drum, toner, paper tray and
set these aside.
To remove the drum, press the Cover
Release Button and then open the front
cover. See Figure 1.

1. Place the printer gently on its back.
Locate the paper pick-up roller
shown by the arrow in Figure 3.

1. Remove the Drum Unit Assembly and
close the front cover. See Figure 2.
How to Replace the PF Kit (1850/1870N)
1. On the right hand side of the paper
pick-up roller, as shown by the
arrow in Figure 4, locate the white
tab on the locking piece.

•To prevent electric shock, always turn the printer off and disconnect the power cord
from the AC outlet/socket before cleaning the printer or performing maintenance.
•Before you replace the feed roller, turn the power switch off, unplug the AC power cord
and allow the printer to cool for at least 30 minutes before replacing the feed roller.
1. Remove two white roller collars,
two springs and two teflon
washers from either side of the
paper pick-up roller. These parts
will be re-used.

1. Install the springs, teflon
washers and white roller collars
on the new paper pick-up roller.
See Figures 7 and 8.

1. Move the white tab downward until it
stops as shown by the arrow in Figure
5. Then slide the locking piece towards
the right and remove it from the
machine. See Figure 5.
2. Move the paper pick-up roller towards
the right and lift it out of the machine.
Please note: The paper pick-up roller
assembly consists of one roller, two roller
collars, two springs and two teflon
washers. See Figure 6.

How to Replace the PF Kit (1850/1870N)
Please note: The paper feed drive
shaft and paper feed roller have
"D" shaped areas that must be
aligned correctly. See arrow in
Figures 9 and 10.
DO NOT use force while installing
the paper feed roller into the
machine, rotating the feed roller
gently while sliding it to the left
will help it to align with the feed
roller drive shaft.

1. Install the paper pick-up roller assembly
into the machine with the longer side of
the shaft on the right. Now push the
white roller stopper back into position
and gently push the white tab upwards
to secure the paper pick-up roller into
place. See Figures 11 and 12.

1. Gently return the printer to its normal
upright position.

1. The paper tray should already be
removed from the machine. Place the
paper tray on a flat surface.
2. Locate the separation pad as shown by
the arrow in Figure 13.

Apply enough pressure to un-clip the separation
pad by lifting it upwards and slightly back as
shown by the arrow in Figure 14.
Please note:
There is a spring under the separation
pad assembly. Make sure you do not lose the spring.
Step 2
1. Release the separator pad but leave the spring
in the tray as shown by the arrows in Figure 15.

Install the new separation pad by lining up the
spring with the small tabs on the bottom of the
separation pad and clipping it into place by push-
ing down to secure it as shown by the arrows in
Figures 16 and 17.
2. To check if the separator pad is installed
correctly, press it down and release. It should
return to its original position. If not repeat
from Step 2.

1. Re-install the drum, toner, and paper tray into
the machine. Plug in the power cord and turn
on the printer.
2.
Wait for the printer to warm up with a Ready
Message on the Control Panel Display.
3.
The PF Kit life counter needs to be reset to
clear the "Replace PF Kit" maintenance
message. To do this, press the GO and + buttons
at the same time. The message "Reset Parts
Life" will flash on the screen for one second,
then the display will change to "PF Kit 1".
Once this message is displayed, press the SET
button once. The counter will now be reset.
Please note: If "Pause" is displayed after attempt-
ing to reset the counter, please retry pressing GO
and + buttons at the same time. The message
"Reset Parts Life" will flash on the screen for one
second, then the display will change to "PF Kit 1".
Once this message is displayed, press the SET
button once. The counter will now be reset.
4. Print a test page by depressing the set button
three times.
