What is C-Pen good for?
C-Pen is a completely portable text scanner. It
does not need to be connected to a computer,
though you can transfer text to any PC or Palm
device. C-PenhasitsownOpticalCharacter
Recognitionsoftware,andismuchfasterthana
flatbedscanner for small quantitiesof text.
You could use C-Pen to copy quotations for a
paper,withnon-circulatingorarchivalmaterial,
or with any materials that wouldn’t do well on a
flatbedscanner.
C-Pen is not able torecognize handwriting or
badly obscured printed text. For these items you
might want to try the HP CapShare, the KNC’s
portableimagescanner.
