1: Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of this super-fast, talking battery charger.
Turbo is among the best in its class. It will be at your disposal providing
outstanding charging quality. We are confident that it will meet your
expectations and provide your rechargeable batteries with long-lasting power
over a long life span.
Turbo 6: This version enables the recharging of batteries size Mignon
AA, Micro AAA, Baby C, Mono D as well as two 9V batteries.
2: Description of the device and the keys
Turbo 6 includes one 12-16V input with AC adapter.
2.1: Turbo 6
Turbo 6 has a lid to cover the 4 charging channels for the batteries size Mignon
AA, Micro AAA, Baby C or Mono D. The 2 charging channels for the 9V
batteries are located on the surface and are not covered by the lid. To become
familiar with this device, place it in front of you so that the square channels for
the 9V batteries are located in the right hand, upper corner of the surface.
Surface
The 2 square channels for the 9V batteries are on the upper, right side of the
surface. These two channels are numbered 5 and 6 (from left to right). A little
bit below, you can feel 4 small LED displays, showing the status of each
charging channel. On the front side –facing towards you –you can feel a oval
pushbutton, to open the lid. Another button, right next to this pushbutton, will
activate the speech output. To open the lid, push the oval button. Inside the
compartment, you will find 4 charging channels, numbered serially from left to
right (1 to 4). A tall metal clip on the bottom of every charging channel ensures
that the different sizes of batteries fit in tight.
Rear Side
On the right side you will find the outlet for the AC adaptor.
Left Side
On the left side of the device, there is another outlet, which is an interface for
our service technicians only.
Consult instructions before use! Do not operate Turbo 6
without reading the instruction manual. Get acquainted with
the device and all the accessories. Keep the instruction for
reference reading and pass it on with the device.

4
3: Power Supply
Plug the charger to the power supply (12-16V input with AC adapter). The
outlet for the AC adapter is located on the rear side of the device.
After plugging in, Turbo will start operating with a short jingle followed by the
status report (e.g. “all channels are empty”).
Turbo 6 is automatically recharging Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel-Metal-
Hydride (NiMH) and Rechargeable-Alkaline-Manganese batteries (RAM) size
AAA (Micro), AA (Mignon), C (Baby), D (Mono) and 9V batteries. Different
sizes can be recharged at the same time in any combination. The device
automatically recognizes the battery type and defines the charging process for
each individual battery.
4: How to Start
As soon as the batteries are placed in the charging channels, the charging
process begins. The flat (negative) end of tubular batteries has to contact the
metal clip of the corresponding charging channel. When recharging 9V
batteries make sure that the plus pole of the battery (the smaller of the two
metal rings) is on the left side. After a short initiation phase (battery diagnosis),
Turbo will automatically begin the charging process and announce the status
after a short beep tone (e.g. “Channel 1 – charging”).
Once the charging process has ended, the battery is kept in float charging
mode. Overcharging the batteries is not possible; therefore the batteries can be
left in the charging channel for a longer time. Batteries in different sizes can be
recharged at the same time. Turbo will automatically recognize type and
system of every single battery and adapt the charging process to its capacity
and state of health. When a battery is placed in or removed from a channel,
Turbo will announce this with a short beep followed by the corresponding
announcement.
The required charging time depends on the size, capacity, inner resistance,
state of charge and quality of the battery.
Note: When charging batteries size AAA (Micro) in Turbo 6,
check the contact between the minus pole of the battery and
the metal clip of the channel by sliding the metal clip towards
the battery end.

5
4.1: Status Report
You can start a status report by a short press of the button for the speech
output. If all charging channels are empty, Turbo will announce “all channels
are empty”. If some batteries are being recharged, Turbo will announce this
separately (e.g. “Channel 1 is charging”, “Channel 2 –charging complete”).
4.2: Menu
To enter the menu keep the button for the speech output pressed for at least 2
seconds. The functions offered are automatic confirmation, volume and end.
To select one of the menu functions, press the button shortly until you hear the
announcement (e.g. “Volume”) and confirm your choice by pressing the button
for 2 seconds.
4.2.1: Automatic Confirmation
This function can be activated or deactivated. When activated, Turbo will
automatically announce whenever a charging process is complete.
To activate the automatic confirmation, enter the menu as previously
described. In the menu function, you can then choose between “active” or “not
active” by pressing the button shortly. Confirm your choice by pressing the
button for 2 seconds. Turbo will once again confirm your choice followed by a
beep.
Note: If you are charging new NiMH batteries and after several hours
of charging no full signal is reached, it maybe that some NiMH
batteries need a formatting phase. They need to be recharged 2-3
times before achieving full capacity. If during the charging process you
observe that the batteries are getting hotter (e.g. 50°C / 122 °F) and
after about 1 hour still no full signal is reached, we advise taking the
batteries from the charger and using them in any device. The next
recharging process should run normally as the batteries have been
formatted. If after several normal recharging cycles a battery starts
showing this problem, it is likely that the charger terminals need to be
cleaned or the battery itself is defective.
Note: If you are in the menu and do not press the button
for 1 Minute, you will automatically leave the menu again.

6
4.2.2: Volume
You can choose between 3 different levels. To change the volume, enter the
menu as previously described. In the volume function, you can then choose
between “Volume 1” “Volume 2” or “Volume 3” by pressing the button shortly.
Confirm your choice by pressing the button for 2 seconds. Turbo will once
again confirm your choice followed by a beep.
4.2.3: End
To exit from the menu, chose the function „End“ and confirm your choice by
pressing the button for 2 seconds. You will hear a beep and then exit the menu.
5: Safety Instructions
