TheCX300Cisatotallyhydraulicexcavator.Itconsistsofanundercarriagettedwithtracksandaturntablebearing
whichsupportstheupperstructureframe.Theupperstructureframesupportstheattachment,atthefrontendof
themachine,plustheengine,hydraulicsandcab.Whentheoperatorworksthecontrols,theengine-drivenpump
delivershydraulicuidtothecontrolvalves.Thecontrolvalvesdistributethehydraulicuidtothevariouscylinders
andhydraulicmotorsemployed.Acoolingsystemmaintainsthehydraulicuidatnormaloperatingtemperature.

Beforeusingthemachine
•Avoidloosettingclothing,looseoruncoveredlong
hair,jewelryoranyotheritemswhichcouldgetcaught
upinmachinery.
•Differenttypesofjobwillrequiredifferenttypesofpro-
tectiveequipment.Itemssuchashardhats,safety
shoes,heavygloves,reectortypejackets,respirators,
earprotectionandeyeprotectionmayberequired.Be-
forestartingajob,determinewhatprotectiveequip-
mentwillbenecessary.Usethisequipmentatalltimes.
•Donotattempttooperatethismachineunlessyouhave
rstreadandperfectlyunderstoodthesafetymessages
andinstructionsappearinginthismanual.
•Operatingthemachinerequiresfullattentionandcare
onthepartoftheoperatorcanavoidaccidents.Get
toknowthemachine'spossibilitiesandlimitationsand
theworkingspacerequired.Thereareareasofpoor
visibilityintheworkingrangeofthemachine.Have
someoneguideyouforallareaswherevisibilityisnot
perfect.
•Grease,oil,mudor(inwinter)iceonthestepsand
accesshandlescancauseaccidents.Makesurethey
arekeptcleanatalltimes.
•Everyday,inspectthemachinetodetectanysignsof
hydraulicuidleakage.Tightentheconnectionsorre-
placeanydefectivecomponentsasnecessary.
•Removeanyobstructionswhichhindervisibility.Keep
thewindshield,rearviewmirrorandwindowscleanat
alltimes.
•Makesurethewindshieldwiperworkscorrectly.
•Makesureyouareperfectlyfamiliarwithhandsignals
indailyuseontheworksitetobeabletoobtainhelp
withtightmaneuversorwhencarryingoutoperations
wherevisibilityispoor.
•Beforeundertakinganytravelorworkingoperations
duringhoursofdarkness,makesurethelightingand
signallingequipmentisfullyoperative.
•Beforeanytraveloperation,makesurethatthedoors
andhoodsareproperlylatched.
•Checkthatnotoolsorotheritemshavebeenleftonthe
machine(beitontheundercarriageortheupperstruc-
ture)orintheoperator'scompartment.
•Theoperatormustbealoneonthemachineatalltimes.
Donotallowanyonetostandonoraroundthemachine.
•Togetinoroutofthecab,itisimperativethattheup-
perstructureframeisinlinewiththeundercarriage.
•Whenalightingfromorgettingintotheoperator'scom-
partment,alwaysfacethemachineandusethesteps
andaccesshandles.
•Besureyouknowthepositionandfunctionofeach
control.Incorrectoperationofthecontrolscancause
seriousinjuries.
•Checkallcontrolsandsafetydevicesinasafe,open
areabeforestartingwork.
•Keepawayfromdangerousareassuchasditches,
overhangs,rockyareas,etc.Makeasurveyofthe
work-siteanddeterminethepossibledangersbefore
usingthemachine.
•Beforeparkingthemachine,makesurethattheground
isstable.Plantheworksitesothatthegroundisat,
hardandlevel.
•Beforemovingthemachinetoworkinanewarea,walk
aroundtodetermineallpossiblecausesofaccidents
there.Holes,obstacles,debrisandotherdangerrisks
intheworkingareacancauseseriousinjury.
•Bereadytomeetemergencies.Alwayscarryarstaid
kitandifpossible,reextinguisher(notsupplied)within

windowglass)intheeventofthemachineturningover
ortippingoverorthecabdoorbeingjammed.
•Makesureyouareperfectlyfamiliarwithtrafcregu-
lationsandspecialsafetyequipmentrequirementsbe-
foretransportingthismachineonapublichighway.
•Whenloadingtrucks,neverswingtheloadoverthe
truckcab.
•Beforeundertakinganytravelonthejobsite,makesure
theitinerarytobefollowediscompletelysafe.Ifbridges
aretobecrossed,makesuretheyareperfectlycapable
ofsupportingtheweightofthemachine.
•Alwayssteeraroundlargeobstaclessuchasboulders,
bigtrees,etc.

•Itismandatoryfortheswitchtobeinthelockedposition
whenoperatingthemachine.
•Everyday,checkthatthelockingbarfunctionscorrectly
andthatitisnotfouledbyforeignmatter.Cleanthe
lockingsystemifnecessary.

surethediameterofthepinsandthewidthbetween
thebucketlugsmeetthedimensionsneededtotthe
