NOTICE:Theproperandsafelubricationandmaintenanceforthismachine,recommendedbyManufacturer,are
outlinedintheOPERATOR’SMANUALforthemachine.
Improperperformanceoflubricationormaintenanceproceduresaredangerousandcouldresultininjuryordeath.
ReadandunderstandtheMANUALbeforeperforminganylubricationormaintenance.
Theservicemanormechanicmaybeunfamiliarwithmanyofthesystemsonthismachine.Thismakesacareful
useofthesystemsveryimportantwhenperformingmaintenanceoperations.Soundknowledgeofthesystemandor
componentsisimportantbeforetheremovalordisassemblyofanycomponent.
Becauseofthesizeofsomeofthemachinecomponents,theservicemanormechanicshouldchecktheweights
notedinthismanual.Useproperliftingprocedureswhenremovinganycomponents.Weightofcomponentstableis
showninthissection.
Thefollowingisalistofbasicprecautionsthatmustalwaysbeobserved.
1.ReadandunderstandallWarningplatesanddecalsonthemachinebeforeOperating,MaintainingorRepairing
thismachine.
2.Alwayswearprotectiveglassesandprotectiveshoeswhenworkingaroundmachines.Inparticular,wearprotec-
tiveglasseswhenusinghammers,punchesordriftsonanypartofthemachineorattachments.Usewelders
gloves,hood/goggles,apronandtheprotectiveclothingappropriatetotheweldingjobbeingperformed.Donot
wearloosettingortornclothing.Removeallringsfromngers,loosejewellery,connelonghairandloosecloth-
ingbeforeworkingonthismachinery.
3.Disconnectthebatteryandhanga“MaintenanceinProgress”tagintheoperator’sseat.Removestarterkey.
4.Ifpossible,makeallrepairswiththemachineparkedonalevelandrmsurface.Blockthemachinesoitdoesnot
rollwhileworkingonorunderthemachine.Hanga“MaintenanceinProgress”tagintheoperator’sseat.
5.Donotworkonanymachinethatissupportedonlybylift,jacksorahoist.Alwaysuseblocksorstopsforthejack
beforecarryingoutanydisassemblyoperation.
NOTICE:Donotoperatethismachineunlessyouhavereadandunderstoodallinstructionscontainedinthismanual.
Impropermachineoperationisdangerousandcouldresultininjuryordeath.
6.Relieveallpressureinair,oilorwatersystemsbeforeanylines,ttingsorrelateditemsaredisconnectedor
removed.Alwaysmakesureallraisedcomponentsareblockedcorrectlyandbealertforpossiblepressure
whendisconnectinganydevicefromasystemunderpressure.
7.Lowerthebucket,dozerorotherattachmentstothegroundbeforeperforminganyworkonthemachine.Ifthis
cannotbedone,makesurethebucket,bladeorotherattachmentisblockedcorrectlytopreventitfromdropping
unexpectedly.
8.Usestepsandgrabhandleswhenmountingordismountingamachine.Removeanydebrisormudfromsteps,
walkwaysorworkplatformsbeforeusingthem.Alwaysfacethemachinewhenusingsteps,laddersandwalk-
ways.Whenitisnotpossibletousethedesignedaccesssystem,provideladders,scaffolds,orwork,platforms
toperformsaferepairoperations.
9.Toavoidbackinjury,useahoistwhenliftingcomponentswhichweigh20kg(44.09lb)ormore.Makesureall
chains,hooks,slings,etc.,areingoodconditionandarethecorrectcapacity.Besurehooksarepositioned
correctly.Liftingeyesarenottobesideloadedduringaliftingoperation.
10.T oavoidburns,bealertforhotpartsandsurfacesimmediatelyafterstoppingthemachinesuchashotuidsin
lines,tubesandcompartmentcovers.
11.Becarefulwhenremovingcoverplates.Graduallybackoffthelasttwocapscrewsornutslocatedatopposite
endsofthecoverordeviceandcarefullyprythecoverloosetorelieveanyspringorotherpressure,before
removingthelasttwocapscrewsornutscompletely.
12.Becarefulwhenremovingllercaps,breathersandplugsonthemachine.Holdaragoverthecaporplugto
preventbeingsprayedorsplashedbyliquidsunderpressure.Dangerisevengreaterifthemachinehasjust
beenstopped,asliquidsmightbeboilinghot.
13.Alwaysusethepropertoolsthatareingoodconditionandthataresuitedforthejobathand.Besureyou
understandhowtousethembeforeperforminganyservicework.
14.Reinstallallclampswiththesamesparepartnumber.Donotuseclampsofinferiorqualityifreplacementis
necessary.

15.Repairswhichrequireweldingshouldbeperformedonlywiththebenetoftheappropriatereferenceinforma-
tionandbypersonneladequatelytrainedandskilledinweldingprocedures.Determinethetypeofmetalbeing
weldedandselectthecorrectweldingprocedureandelectrodes,rodsorwirestoprovideametalweldstrength
atleastequivalenttothatoftheparentmetal.Makesuretodisconnectthebatterybeforeanyweldingoperation
isperformed.
16.Donotdamagewiringduringremovaloperations.Reinstallthewiringsoitisnotdamagednorwillbedamaged
inoperationofthemachinebycontactingsharpcorners,orbyrubbingagainstsomeobjectorhotsurface.Do
notconnectwiringtoalinecontaininguid.
17.Besureallprotectivedevices,includingguardsandshields,areproperlyinstalledandfunctioningcorrectlybefore
startingarepair.Ifaguardorshieldmustberemovedtoperformtherepairwork,useextracautionandreplace
theguardorshieldafterrepairiscomplete.
18.Performingmaintenanceandrepairoperationswhilethebucketisliftedisdangerous,becausethereisthepos-
sibilityofadevicefalling.Donotfailtolowersuchdeviceandplacethebuckettothegroundbeforestartingthe
operation.
19.Looseordirtyfuel,lubricationandhydraulicsystems,pipesandhosesmaycauseres.Donotbendorstrike
high-pressurelines,donotinstallbentordamagedlines.Inspectlines,tubesandhosescarefully.Donotcheck
forleakswithyourhands.Verysmall(pinhole)leakscanresultinahighvelocityoiljetthatwillbeinvisibleclose
tothehose.
Thisoilcanpenetratetheskinandcausepersonalinjury.Usecard-boardorpapertolocatepinholeleaks.
20.Tightenconnectionstothecorrecttorque.Makesurethatallprotectionsagainstburns,theclampsandtheoper-
ator’sprotectivedevicesarecorrectlyinstalledinordertopreventexcessiveheat,vibrationsorrubbingagainst
otherpartsduringoperation.Shieldsthatprotectagainstoilsprayontohotexhaustcomponentsineventofa
line,tubeorsealfailuremustbeinstalledcorrectly.
21.Donotoperateamachineifanyrotatingpartisdamagedorcontactsanyotherpartduringoperation.Anyhigh
speedrotatingcomponentthathasbeendamagedoralteredshouldbecheckedforbalancebeforereusing.
22.Becarefulwhenservicingorseparatingthetracks.Chipscanywhenremovingorinstallingatrackpin.Wear
safetyglassesandlongsleeveprotectiveclothing.Trackscanunrollveryquicklywhenseparated.Keepaway
fromfrontandrearofmachine.Themachinecanmoveunexpectedlywhenbothtracks(crawlers)aredisengaged
fromthesprockets.Blockthemachinetopreventitfrommoving.

Preparationbeforedisassembling
1.Understandingoperatingprocedure
ReadOPERATIONANDMAINTENANCEMANUALcarefullytounderstandtheoperatingprocedure.
2.Cleaningmachines
Removesoil,mud,anddustfromthemachinebeforecarryingitintotheserviceshoptopreventlossofwork
efciency,damageofparts,anddifcultyinrustpreventionanddustprotectionwhilereassembling.
3.Inspectingmachines
Identifythepartstobedisassembledbeforestartingwork,determinethedisassemblingprocedurebyyourself
consideringtheworkshopsituationsetc.,andrequestprocurementofnecessarypartsinadvance.
4.Recording
Recordthefollowingitemsforcommunicationandpreventionofrecurringmalfunction.
1.Inspectiondateandplace
2.Modelname,applicablemachinenumber,andhourmeterread
3.Troublecondition,placeandcause.
4.Visibleoilleakage,waterleakageanddamage
5.Cloggingoflters,oillevel,oilquality,oilcontaminationandlooseningofconnections
6.Resultofconsiderationifanyproblemexistsbasedontheoperationratepermonthcalculatedfromhourmeter
indicationafterthelastinspectiondate.
5.Arrangementandcleaninginserviceshop
1.T oolsrequiredforrepairwork.
2.Preparespacetoplacethedisassembledparts.
3.Prepareoilcontainersfordrainingoiletc.
Safetyindisassemblingandassembling
1.Wearappropriateclotheswithlongsleeves,safetyshoes,safetyhelmetandprotectiveglasses.
2.Suspendwarningtag“DONOTOPERATE”fromthedoorknobortheoperatinglever,andhaveapreliminary
meetingbeforestartingwork.
3.Stoptheenginebeforestartinginspectionandmaintenancetopreventtheoperatorbeingcaughtinmachine.
4.Identifythelocationofarst-aidkitandareextinguisher,andalsowheretomakecontactinastateofemergency.
5.Chooseahard,levelandsafeplace,andplacetheattachmentonthegroundsecurely.
6.Usealiftersuchasacranetoremoveheavyparts(20kg(44lb)ormore)fromthemachine.
7.Usepropertools,andreplaceorrepairdefectivetools.
8.Supportthemachineandattachmentwithsupportsorblocksiftheworkisperformedintheliftedcondition.

Disassemblingandassemblinghydraulicequipment
1.Removinghydraulicequipment
1.Beforedisconnectingpipes,releasethehydraulicpressureofthesystem,oropenthereturnsidecoverand
takeoutthelter.
2.Carefullydrainoiloftheremovedpipesintoacontainerswithoutspillingontheoor.
3.Applyplugsorcapsonthepipeendstoavoidoilspillageanddustintrusion.
4.Cleanofftheexternalsurfaceoftheequipmentbeforedisassembling,anddrainhydraulicandgearoilbefore
placingitontheworkbench.
2.Disassemblinghydraulicequipment
1.Donotdisassemble,reassembleormodifythehydraulicequipmentwithoutthepermissionofthemanufacturer,
whoisnotresponsiblefortheperformanceandfunctionoftheproductaftermodication.
2.Whendisassemblingandreassemblingforunavoidablereason,refertheworktoqualiedpersonnelwhohave
thespecicknowledgeorcompletedthepartsservicetraining.
3.Providematchingmarkstofacilitatereassemblingwork.
4.Beforestartingthework,readthemanualofdisassemblingprocedure,ifitisprovided,anddecidewhetherthe
workcanbeperformedbyyourself.
5.Usethespecialjigandtoolswithoutfailiftheyarespecied.
6.Ifitishardtoremoveapartaccordingtotheprocedure,donottryitbyforcebutinvestigatethecause.
7.Placetheremovedpartsinorderandattachtagstofacilitatethereassembling.
8.Notethelocationandquantityofpartscommonlyappliedtomultiplelocations.
3.Inspectingparts
1.Ensurethatthedisassembledpartsarefreefromseizure,interferenceandunevencontact.
2.Measureandrecordwearconditionofpartsandclearance.
3.Iftheproblemisfoundinapart,repairorreplaceitwithanewone.
4.Reassemblinghydraulicequipment
1.TurnOntheventilationfanoropenwindowstomaintaingoodventilationpriortostartingthecleaningofparts.
2.Performroughandnishcleaningbeforeassembling.
3.Removewashingoilbyairandapplycleanhydraulicorgearoilforassembling.
4.AlwaysreplacetheremovedO-rings,backupringsandoilsealswithnewonesbyapplyinggreaseinadvance.
5.Removedirtandmoisturefromandperformdegreasingonthesurfacewhereliquidgaskettobeapplied.
6.Removerustpreventiveagentfromthenewpartsbeforeuse.
7.Fitbearings,bushingsandoilsealsusingspecialjigs.
8.Assemblethepartsutilizingmatchingmarks.
9.Ensureallthepartsarecompletelyassembledafterthework.
5.Installinghydraulicequipment
1.Ensurehydraulicoilandlubricantareproperlysupplied.
2.Performairbleedingwhen:
1.Hydraulicoilchanged
2.Partsofsuctionsidepipingreplaced

NOTICE:Operationofthehydraulicequipmentwithoutllinghydraulicoilorlubricantorwithoutperformingair
bleedingwillresultindamagetotheequipment.
3.Performairbleedingofthehydraulicpumpandslewingmotorafterlooseningtheupperdrainplug,startingthe
engineandkeepitinlowidlecondition.
Completetheairbleedingwhenseepingofhydraulicoilisrecognized,andtightlyplug.
4.Performairbleedingofthetravelmotorandthehydrauliccylindersbyrunningtheengineformorethan5min
atlowspeedwithoutload.
NOTICE:Donotallowthehydrauliccylindertobottomonthestrokeendjustafterthemaintenance.
5.Performairbleedingofpilotlinebyperformingaseriesofdigging,slewingandtravel.
6.Checkhydraulicoillevelafterplacingtheattachmenttotheoilcheckposition,andreplenishoilifnecessary.
Electricalequipment
1.Donotdisassembleelectricalequipment.
2.Handleitcarefullynottodropandgiveashock.
3.TurnthekeyOffpriortoconnectinganddisconnectingwork.
4.Disconnecttheconnectorbyholdingitandpressingthelock.Donotpullthewiretoapplyforcetothecaulking
portion.
5.Connecttheconnectorandensureitiscompletelylocked.
6.TurnthekeyOffpriortotouchingtheterminalofstarterorgenerator.
7.Removetheground(earth)terminalofbatterywhenhandlingtoolsaroundthebatteryoritsrelay.
8.Donotsplashwaterontheelectricalequipmentandconnectorsduringmachinewashing.
9.Checkformoistureadhesioninsidethewaterproofconnectorafterpullingitout,sinceitishardtoremovemois-
turefromtheconnector.
Ifmoistureadhesionisfound,dryitcompletelybeforetheconnection.
Batteryelectrolyteishazardous.
Batteryelectrolyteisdilutesulfuricacid.Exposureofskinoreyestothisliquidwillcauseburningorlossofeyesight.
Iftheexposureoccurs,takethefollowingemergencymeasuresandseektheadviceofamedicalspecialist.
•Whenskinexposed:
Washwithwaterandsoapsufciently.
•Wheneyesexposed:
Immediatelywashawaywithcitywatercontinuouslyformorethan10min.
•Whenalargeamountoftheliquidowsout:
Neutralizewithsodiumbicarbonateorwashawaywithcitywater.
•Whenswallowed:
Drinkalargeamountofmilkorwater.
•Whenclothesexposed:
Immediatelyundressandwash.

1.O-ring
•EnsureO-ringshaveelasticityandarenotdamagedbeforeuse.
•UsetheappropriateO-rings.O-ringsareofdifferentkindsandmadeofdifferentmaterials,andtheyhavea
differenthardnesstobeappliedtoavarietyofparts,suchasmovingorxedparts,subjecttohighpressureand
exposedtocorrosiveuids,eveniftheirsizeissame.
•FittheO-ringswithoutdistortionandbend.
•Alwayshandleoatingsealsasapair.
2.Flexiblehose(Fhose)
•Usetheappropriateparts.Differentpartsareuseddependingontheworkingpressureeventhesizeoftting
andthetotallengthofthehoseissame.
•Tightenthettingatthespeciedtorque.
Ensurenokink,tension,interferencenoroilleakageisrecognized.
Weldingrepair
1.Referrepairweldingtoqualiedpersonnelaccordingtotheappropriateprocedure.
2.Disconnecttheground(earth)cableofthebatterybeforestartingtherepair.
Failuretodosowillcausedamagetotheelectricalequipment.
3.Moveawaythearticlesinadvancethatmaycausereifexposedtosparks.
4.Beforestartingtherepairoftheattachment,donotfailtocovertheplatedsurfaceofthepistonrodwithameproof
sheettopreventitfrombeingexposedtosparks.
Environmentalmeasure
1.Runtheengineattheplacethatissufcientlyventilated.

Thefollowingtorquespecicationsareindicatedincase
theactualtorquevalueofafastenerisunknown.Check
thecapscrewsandnutsfortheirloosenessanddropping
offbeforethestartofdailyworkandattheperiodicalmain-
tenance.Retightentheloosenedones,andinstallnew
onesforthedroppedoff.Forthenewmachine,thecheck
andretighteningofthemmustbecarriedoutatrst50h
operation.Forthereplacementofthem,makesuretouse
thesamesizeofmanufacturer’sgenuineparts.
Refertothetablebelowforthetighteningand
retighteningofcapscrews.
•Thetablebelowisnotapplicableforthecapscrewsto
xthecover,etc.,madeofplastic.Forthetightening
torqueforsuchcapscrews,consultwithanauthorized
ourDistributor.Over-tighteningmaycausedamages
onthepartstobexed.
•Iftheoperator’smanualspeciesadifferenttorque,use
suchvalueregardlessofthetablebelow.
•Numericalindicationonthecapscrewheadshowsthe
classicationforstrength(e.g.,7=7T).Noindication
isprovidedforsmallersizeofcapscrews,M5orless.
