This supplementary user guide will lead you through the process of
updating the firmware on your AFX.
To update the firmware of your AFX, you will require access to a PC/Mac with WiFi
capability, access to the internet and a web browser installed.
As with the standard use of your AFX, both the Aand Bbuttons are used to navigate and
select operations so you should have this basic knowledge of its functionality before
performing a firmware update.
Although the AFX is updated wirelessly and can do this whilst running on its internal
battery, we recommend attaching it to a USB power source during this process.

Downloading the firmware update file.
To download the latest firmware for your AFX, connect your PC/Mac to the internet and go
to the following page on the CDA-TEK website.
https://www.cdatek.com/afx-upgrade
This page will provide you with release notes for the latest version and the firmware file
itself is downloaded to your PC/Mac by clicking the link.
As you will need to locate the firmware file to download it to your AFX, we recommend
saving or moving it to an easily navigable folder such as Downloads or your desktop."

Putting your AFX into firmware update mode.
To activate the firmware update mode on your AFX,
reboot it and at the initial startup screen press the A
button to enter the Setup Menu.
With the Setup Menu open, navigate using the
Bbutton to Maintenance and then press the A
button to confirm the selection.
With the Maintenance Menu open, navigate using
the Bbutton to Firmware Update and then press
the Abutton to confirm the selection.
Your AFX will then show the Firmware Update
screen and will be ready for you to download
the new version."

Downloading the firmware update file to your AFX.
With your AFX in Firmware Update Mode, navigate to its WiFi
connection selection function on your PC/Mac and you will see
CDATEK-AFX listed as one of the available networks.
Connect to this network, navigate to the address bar in your
web browser and type in the following URL.
http://192.168.4.1:8080/update
You will then be presented with a simple web page to update the AFX.
Click “Choose File” and you will then be
presented with a file selection dialog to
choose the firmware file.
Navigate to the folder that you saved the
file in, select it and press OK.
With the file selected, click “Update” and
the file will begin to download wirelessly to
your AFX.
During this process you will see a progress
bar to indicate the status of the update and
please be patient during this period if the
progress bar is increasing at a variable rate.
Once the progress bar reaches 100%, the
AFX will reboot after a short delay and the
firmware update process is complete.
When the AFX reboots, you can confirm that
the process has been successful by observing the version number indicator on the initial
splash screen as it starts up.
If the process fails, or you manually abort it, your current firmware version will still be
retained and you can repeat the process to try again.
