1.1. WARRANT D INFORMATION
The ADA-1044H converter i covered by a two year warranty from date of ale. In ca e of being damaged it will be repair or the
damaged component will be replace. The warranty doe not cover damage cau ed from improper u e, material con umption or any
unauthorized change . If the product doe not function (i damaged), or not operate in accordance with the in truction , will be
repaired or replaced.
All warranty and no warranty repair mu t be returned with paid tran port and in uring to the C L-MAR Company.
C L-MAR Company under no circum tance won't be re pon ible for en uing damage from improper u ing the product or a a re ult
of random cau e : the lightning di charge, the flood, the fire and the like.
C L-MAR Company i not be held re pon ible for damage and lo including: lo of profit , lo of data, pecuniary lo e en uing
from u ing or the impo ibility of u ing thi product.

1.2. G N RAL CONDITIONS FOR SAF US
The device hould be in talled in a afe and table place (eg, electroin tallation cabinet), the powering cable hould be arranged o
a not to be expo ed to trampling, attaching, or pulling out of the circuit.
Do not put device on the wet urface.
Do not connect device for nonde cript powering ource ,
Do not damage or cru h powering wire .
Do not make connection with wet hand .
Do not adapt, open or make hole in ca ing of the device!
Do not immer e device in water or no other liquid.
Do not put the fire opened on device ource : candle , an oil lamp and the like.

The device can not be u ed for application that determine human life and health (eg. Medical).

2. PRODUCT INFORMATION

2.2. D SCRIPTION
The ADA-1044H change RS232 tandard to RS485/RS422 and can be u e for creation tar-topology on RS485 Bu . To one
converter it i po ible to connect two or four egment (1200m) of RS485 Bu without interfering with the format of tran mitted data.
Thi converter ha one RS232 port for connection Ma ter device (PC, PLC-MASTER) and four eparate RS485-port for 2-wire bu or
two RS485/422 for 4-wire bu . The etting of port type i by 'RS-485 PORTS' witch on the front panel. ADA-1044H can be u ed al o
for communication with device in tar topology located in different place where RS485 chain topology i impa ible.
To the RS485-port can be connected 64 device for 4-wire RS485 bu , 128 device for 2-wire RS485 bu or 2 addre able device
with RS422 interface. The converter doe not required powering form RS232 port, upport a ynchronou baud rate up to 230.4 kbp
by one or two pair of twi ted-pair RS485/422 interface.
ADA-1044H ha female DB-9 ocket for connection of RS232 interface and crew terminal block for power upply and twi ted-pair
connection of RS485/422 network. Connector DB-9F i made like DCE, it let connect converter to other device u ing the exten ion
cable RS232 (typical cable for modem connection) without cro ing TX with RX, RTS with CTS, DTR with DSR. The converter u e
ignal Rx, Tx and GND of RS232 interface (looped ignal in the connector RS232 DB-9F: DTR-DSR-DCD, RTS-CTS), entered by
DB-9F ocket.

2.3. CONV RSION OF TX, RX SIGNALS
Tx and Rx ignal of RS232 interface are converted to RS485/422 tandard.
RS485/RS422 bu built on the ADA-1044H can be connected:
●up to 128 device , functioning in half duplex mode (reque t / re pon e) on 2 wire , multipoint network.
●up to 64 device , functioning in full duplex mode on 4 wire network.

3. INSTALLATION
Thi chapter will how you how to connect ADA-1044H to PC or controller with RS232 port, RS485/422 network and power upply.
In the purpo e of minimization of di ruption from environment i being recommended to:
●apply multipair type hielded cable , which hield can be connected to the earthing on one end of the cable,
●arrange ignal cable in the di tance not horter than 25 cm from powering cable ,
●apply cable of adequate cro - ection due to voltage drop for converter powering,
●u e Interference uppre ion filter for power upply converter that are in talled within a ingle object.

3.1. ASS MBLING
The ADA-1044H enclo ure i adapted to a embly on TS-35 (DIN35) rail. To in tall repeater you hould mount device on the rail
upper part of the enclo ure then pre bottom part to to hear characteri tic „Click” ound.

To connect the ADA-1044H to device with DCE (eg Modem) RS232 port type, i required RS232 cable CAB-DB9M/DB9M-C-1,8m
available in our offer. Connection example i hown below.

3.3. CONN CTION TO RS485/RS422 BUS
RS485/RS422 interface at ADA-1044H i available on terminal block de cribed a : Tx+/A, Tx-/B, Rx+, Rx- (IN) and T1+/A1, T1-/B1,
R1+/A2, R1-/B2, T2+/A3, T2-/B3, R2+/A4, R2-/B4. RS485/422 bu need proper cabling.
Connection the GND terminal of RS485/422 interface device connected to RS485/422 bu , hould be done in ca e of potential
difference, which make data tran mi ion i improper .

- tar-type connection of up to 64 device with 4-wire RS485 interface,
- galvanic eparation of RS232 port from RS485 Bu .
During the connecting, pay attention to the proper implementation of the connection according to the following drawings.

- galvanic eparation of RS232 port from RS422 Bu .
During the connecting, pay attention to the proper implementation of the connection according to the following drawings.

3.4. GND T RMINAL CONN CTION
Connection of GND terminal of RS485/422 interface , device connected to RS485/422 bu , hould be done in the ca e of a
potential difference of the ignal ground on interface RS485 / RS422, which prevent proper data tran mi ion.
Cannot connect to the GND terminal - cables screens, P circuit of electrical installation, signals grounds of other devices.
3.5. LIN T RMINATION
The application of Line Termination (terminator) Rt = 120 W will reduce electrical reflection in data line at high baud rate. It i not
needed below 9600Bd. You hould u e the Line Termination re i tor if the di tance i over 1000m @ 9600Bd or 700m @ 19200Bd
tran mi ion. Example connection of the terminator are hown on figure : 6, 7, 8. Re i tor Rt = 120 W, 5%, 0.25 W at 6 piece are
included with the device.
3.6. POW R SUPPLY CONN CTION
The power upply to ADA-1044H hould be DC (regulated) from the cope 10 V= to 30V= and nominal power more than 2W e.g. DR-
15-24. The power cable from DC power upplie to the device mu t not be longer than 3m.
Ob erve the polarity, connect po itive (+) of DC power upplie to V+ and negative (-) end to V- terminal. ADA-1044H ha the
protection from oppo ite connection power upply. If after power, on the front panel i not lit green LED PWR, check the power
connection (polarity).
4. CONFIGURATION
The operating mode of the ADA-1044H i et by the u e of 6-po ition SW1 witch. Thi witch i located near the crew terminal block
( ee Fig.1). The RS485-PORTS witch i u e for etting of port type: 4x2W – four port 2-wire or 2x4W – two port 4-wire.
To et the SW1, remove the terminal cover and u ing mall, flat crewdriver make correct etting.

4.2. S TTING OF TYP AND NUMB RS OF PORTS RS485 IN
Converter ADA-1044H ha on front panel the witch RS-485 PORTS ( ee fig.1), which i u e for election of type and number of
RS485 port . Available port type: 4W – four-wire, 2W – two-wire.
Setting the witch in po ition '4W' there are available 2 port 4-wire (full duplex tran mi ion) labeled a :
- port-1, ignal : T1+, T1-, R1+, R1-,
- port-2, ignal : T2+, T2-, R2+, R2-.
Setting the witch in po ition '2W' there are available 4 port 2-wire (half duplex tran mi ion) labeled a :
- port-1, ignal : A1, B1,
- port-2, ignal : A2, B2,
- port-3, ignal : A3, B3,
- port-4, ignal : A4, B4.
