2.2. DESCRIPTION
NMEA0183 to MODBUS-RTU protocol conv rt r ADA-4040PC6 solv s a probl m of conn ction d vic s with NMEA0183 protocol to
multipoint RS-485 bus, to which ar conn ct d d vic s with MODBUS-RTU protocol.
Simultan ously, th d vic can conv rt baud rat and format of transmitt d data b tw n th port of NMEA0183 protocol and th port
of MODBUS-RTU protocol. D p nding on configurations, can b s t baud rat , data bits, parity, numb r of stop bits. Th s tting can
b diff r nt for NMEA0183 port and MODBUS-RTU port. Additionally, ADA-4040PC6 s parat s NMEA0183 d vic s from RS485 bus.
Galvanic isolation of ADA-4040PC6, prot ct th syst m structur d on RS422/485 bus and incr as s its r liability.
ADA-4040PC6 supports th asynchronous baud rat up to 230.4 kbps through four or two pairs of twist d-pair cabl s conn ct d to
scr w t rminals. Th conv rt r us RX+, RX-, TX+/A, TX-/B lin s for functioning. It is possibl to conn ct 32 d vis s to
RS485/RS422 n twork construct d on bas of ADA-4040PC6, working at th half dupl x or full dupl x mod . Ov r-voltag prot ction

3. INSTALLATION
This chapt r will show how to us and conn ct ADA-4040PC6 to RS485, RS422 n twork and pow r supply.
In th purpos of minimization of disruptions from nvironm nt is b ing r comm nd d to:
- apply multipair typ shi ld d cabl s, which shi ld can b conn ct d to th arthing on on nd of th cabl ,
- arrang signal cabl s in th distanc not short r than 25 cm from pow ring cabl s.
- apply cabl of ad quat cross-s ction du to voltag drops for conv rt r pow ring,
- us suppr ssion filt rs for pow ring conv rt rs that ar install d within a singl obj ct.
- not supply conv rt r from pow r circuit d vic that g n rat s larg impuls int rf r nc such as transmitt rs, contactors.
3.1. ASSEMBLING
Th cov r of ADA-4040PC6 is adapt d to ass mbly on TS-35 (DIN35) rail. To install th conv rt r, should b mount d on th rail
upp r part of th cov r th n pr ss bottom part to h ar charact ristic „Click” sound.
3.2. COMPUTER CONNECTION
To conn ct ADA-4040PC6 to comput r is n d d additional conv rt r .g. ADA-I9141 USB to RS485/RS422 conv rt r; conn ct d to
NMEA (5-pin conn ctor) port of th conv rt r.

3.4. POWER SUPPLY CONNECTION
To conn ct pow r supply to th conv rt r, should hav DC pow r suppli s (r gulat d) output voltag from 10 V= to 30V=, min.
nominal pow r 2W, .g. HDR-15-24. Pow r cabl from DC pow r suppli s to d vic can not b long r than 3m. Should conn ct
positiv (+) nd of DC pow r suppli s to V+ d vic t rminal and n gativ (-) nd to V- on t rminal block. ADA-4040PC6 has prot ction
against pow r supply r v rs conn ction.
4. ACTIVATION
Th conv rt r can b pow r on aft r prop rly conn ction according to s ction abov .
If aft r conn ction pow r supply on front pan l will not light gr n l d PWR, ch ck corr ctn ss of pow r supply conn cting
(polarization). Wh n data is pr s nt th LEDs Tx and Rx should blink
ATTENTION!
AT BAUD RATE ABOVE 38.4 KBPS THE LED'S TX, RX WILL LIGHT WEAKLY DURING DATA TRANSMISSION
