1. Introduction
Pleasereadthe instructionmanualbeforeinstallingandretainfor the user/maintenance
engineerforfuture reference.
•This detector uses passiveinfra-redsensors toswitchvarious types oflighitngloads
upon detection of movement

2. Installation
As the detector responds to changes in temperature, avoid the following installations
situations tominimisefalseactivations:
•Avoid pointing the detector towards objects with highly reflective surfaces, such as
mirrors etc.
•Avoid mounting the detector near heatsources, such as heating vents, air conditioning
units,lightetc.
•Avoid pointing the detector towards objects that may move in the wind, such as trees,
shrubs andtallplants etc

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Installation must be performed bya skilled electrician whois familiar with theappropriate standards
and technicalrequirementsofthe appliance andits properinstallation.
The personcarryingoutthe installationis tocheckand verify that the total loadon the circuit,
including therating of the cable, fuse and/orcircuit breakeris not exceeded.
•Ensurethemains supplyis isolated
•Removethe screwon the bottom of the sensorandremove the front cover (figure1 & 2)
•Release the bottom clip and fold the sensor up to reveal the mounting holes and
connections
•Secure the sensor with appropriate screws and fixings at a mounting height between 1.8 -
2.5m (figure3)
•If to be installed in a corner (inward) please use the supplied fixing bracket (refer to below
drawing)
•Feed the cables through the rear cable entry knockouts and grommets and refer to the
wiringdiagram forterminalconnections
•If the light needs to be manually overridden then a separate Switch Live will be required to
the luminairesortosensorload terminal (L’)
•Ensure the relevantIP seals are used on the cable entries to maintain the IP rating. Route
the cables inside the sensor close to the sensor backplate as not to impede the closing of
the sensorandlid
•Fold back the sensor closed, ensuring it is clicked in to place via the securing clip on the
bottom of the backplate
•Switch on the mains supply and then test, adjust the time and lux accordingly, refit the lid
and secureby fixing with the bottom screw

3. Testing
Turn the LUX adjuster fully clockwise
(Sun); turn the TIME adjuster fully
anti-clockwise totheminimum(10s).
•Switch on mains AC supply and after a
30sec warm-up period the sensor will now
be in test mode
•Walk test the sensor, when the sensor
receives a valid trigger signal (such as
movement of a human body or heat)
within its detection area the lamp will turn
on. You will be able to determine the
detection area by walking slowly across
the front of the sensor.
•If the sensor does not receive any other
valid trigger signal then the light should
switch off 10sec (±3sec). While the lamp is on and the sensor receives additional valid
triggersignalthenthe timerwillre-startandthe light will remainon.
•After testing thesensor ensuring the required area can be detected, Turn LUXadjuster anti-
to the required night time operational level, and adjust the Time adjuster clockwise to the
requiredtimefor the lightdurationto be on.
Troubleshooting
The load does notwork:
oPleasecheckthe connections,and theAC mains supplyis on
oPleasecheckif the load is operational
oPlease check the adjustment settings andmake thenecessaryadjustments if required
•The sensitivityis poor:
oPlease check if there is anyobstructions in front of the sensor that will affect it receiving
a valid triggersignal
oCheckthat the sensoris mountedflatand perpendiculartothefloor
oPleasecheckthat if the ambienttemperature is too high
oPleasecheckif the induction signalsource is inthe detectionfield.
oPlease check if the installation height corresponds to the height required in the
instruction
oPleasecheckif the movingorientationis correct
•The sensorcannotturnoff the loadautomatically:
oPleasecheckif there is continual signalin thedetectionfield
oPleasecheckif the time delayis setto maximum
oPlease check if the connections and that a permanent Live is not connected directlyto
the load
