Thank you for purchasing the TSV-1000 Tachometer
and Stroboscope Calibrator / Verifier. This instruction
manual will help you to use the many features of your
new device. Before operation, please read this manu-
al completely, and keep it nearby for future reference.

BEFORE USING THE TSV-1000
Plug in the AC (100-240VAC) to DC (5V) power
adapter.
Remove the pulsor / sensor from the rear panel stor-
age slot and plug it into the front panel USB connect-

Power on the device using the switch on the rear

TSV-1000 Operation
By default, the device will start in TACHOMETER mode
and will pulse at RPM preset # 1 of 10.
To switch to STROBOSCOPE mode, press Swhile in
TACHOMETER mode.
To switch to TACHOMETER mode, press Twhile in
STROBOSCOPE mode.
• TACHOMETER MODE
To test a non-contact tachometer, hold the tachometer
so that its sensor is 0.5-2 inches / 12-50mm from the
TSV-1000 pulse sensor.
When the tachometer is in measuring mode its display
should be in-sync or close to in-sync with TSV-1000’s
display. The allowable tolerance will depend on the ta-
chometer’s specifications.
While in TACHOMETER mode, press SP+ or SP- to
toggle between presets (10).
Press ADJ+ or ADJ- to adjust the pulse rate.
To adjust the presets press DEFAULT, the display will
show Def X: Y where X is the preset number (0—9) and
Y is the preset value in RPM.
Press SP+ or SP- to toggle between presets (10)
Press ADJ+ or ADJ- to adjust a preset.
Press Default to save changes and exit the preset ad-
justment mode returning to normal operating mode.

To restore the default setpoints, press and hold Default
for 3 seconds.
In TACHOMETER mode, the default display is RPM. To
change the display to HZ, press and hold Tfor 3 sec-
onds. It will now display HZ. To return to RPM, press
and hold Tfor 3 seconds.
• STROBOSCOPE MODE
In STROBOSCOPE mode, hold the the stroboscope to
be tester 3-24 inches / 75-600mm away from the TSV-
1000 pulse sensor. The TSV-1000’s display should be in
-sync or close to stroboscope’s display. The allowable
tolerance will depend on the stroboscope’s specifica-
tions.
In STROBOSCOPE mode, the default display is FPM
(flashes per minute). To change the display to HZ, press
and hold Sfor 3 seconds. It will now display HZ. To re-
turn to FPM, press and hold Sfor 3 seconds.
