<Protective Stickers>
Be sure to remove any protective stickers that may be on your watch (case back, band, clasp,
etc.). Otherwise, perspiration or moisture may enter the gaps between the protective stickers
and the parts, which may result in a skin rash and/or corrosion of the metal parts.

Product features
The Citizen (movement number: No.A010) is an Eco-Drive quartz watch with a built-in solar
cell, whose accuracy is indicated by an annual rate.
It is simple, easy to read, and designed with everlasting appeal.
Further, we offer long-term warranty (10 years) and long-term maintenance services for extra reassurance.
Other features include the following:
Eco-drive
Eco-drive is a unique technology of Citizen that uses light to generate power, thus eliminating the
need for periodic battery replacement.
12 o'clock midnight sharp calendar update function
The calendar updates as the clock strikes midnight (0:00:00).
Annual time accuracy: ±5 seconds
This high-precision watch realized an annual time difference of about ±5 seconds max.
Time difference correction function
When you travel overseas, you can easily adjust your watch to the local time without having to stop the watch.

Perpetual calendar
No need for date correction at the end of each month.
The leap year is also updated automatically. (until February 28th, 2100)
JIS1 antimagnetic performance
The functionality of the watch will be maintained even when the watch is brought as close as up to
5 cm of the devices that emit magnetic fields in daily life.

Shock detection function
This function prevents the second, minute, and hour hands from becoming misaligned should the
watch be subjected to shock.
Automatic hand position adjustment function
The hand positions are checked at regular intervals. Any misalignment detected will be corrected
immediately to keep accurate time.

◆10-year warranty
We will repair all spontaneous failures of the watch free of charge for ten years after purchase.
Should failure occur during the warranty period, under normal use as prescribed by the
instruction manual, please send the watch and your card type warranty directly to the Citizen
Technical Service Center, or via the place of purchase.
We will repair it free of charge, as per the provisions of the warranty.
Note : We will send you the warranty provisions along the card type warranty when asked.
Please note the following instances are not covered by the warranty:
• Exterior parts change (band, crystal glass, crown, etc.)
• Scratches or dirt
• Damage by a natural disaster
• Failing to present the card type warranty
Please note that re-issuing the CITIZEN CUSTOMER CARD (a card type warranty) will incur
a fee; store your card safely. Please read the warranty provisions for details.

charge, over the course of the first ten years after purchase. The Citizen Technical Service
Center will provide the details when the inspections are due.

◆Long-term repairs
To ensure our customers’ continued enjoyment of The CITIZEN, we are providing a long-term
warranty system for the various parts needed for repairs, and will continue to provide repairs
over a long period, about 20 years, after the expiration of the 10-year warranty.
All repairs to The CITIZEN, both during and after its warranty period, will be performed
at the Citizen Technical Service Center by highly trained technicians (meisters), who use
techniques acquired over many years, along with a wealth of experience and ingenuity, to offer
our customers user-friendly maintenance and services. (Manufacturer repair).

At the Citizen Technical Service Center, all watches have their history (data) stored and
referenced during repairs, a unique system which ensures adequate repair services.
However, in some instances it may become necessary to replace exterior parts such as the case,
crystal glass, dial, hands, or crown, with substitute parts which may differ in appearance.

Handling the Watch
◆About the crown and button
Some models feature a screw down crown and/or screw down push button.
Locking the crown and/or button prevents accidental operation. These must be
unlocked prior to using certain features of your watch such as setting the time or date.
* Some models feature a recessed button.
* Press the button with a narrow-tipped object such as a wooden toothpick.

Adjust the time with the crown set in Position 2.

If the second hand is moving in two-second increments (insucient charge warning), charge the watch rst (see page 86).
With the second hand at the 12
o'clock position, pull the crown
out to Position 2.

may not be updated properly.
• For more accurate adjustment,
