Safety
• Thekettle can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of theappliance in asafe way and if they
understand thehazards involved. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are
older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep thekettle and its cord out of reach of children aged less
than 8 years.
• Thekettle may be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of theappliance in asafe way and understand
thehazards involved. Children shall not play with theappliance.
• Check that your power supply is 220–240V, 50/60 Hz and
that thekettle is connected to anearthed socket.
• Always unplug thekettle from thepower point when it is not
in use.
• Always unplug thelead from thepower point and let thekettle
cool down properly before cleaning it.
• Do not pull or carry thekettle by themains lead. Do not use
thelead as ahandle or let it get crushed in door jambs.
Do not pull thelead around sharp corners or edges.

• Make sure that themains lead does not come in contact with
hot surfaces such as cooker hobs.
• To reduce therisk of electric shock, never immerse thekettle,
base, mains lead or plug in water or other liquid.
• Any children present when thekettle is in use must be closely
supervised.
• Certain parts of thekettle become hot during use, only grip
thekettle by its handle.
• Never use thekettle if it is damaged or not working properly.
• Themains lead should be checked regularly. Never use
thekettle if themains lead or plug is damaged.
• Themains lead must be changed if damaged. This is to
prevent therisk of electric shock or fire and should only be
carried out by themanufacturer, authorised service facility or
aqualified tradesman.
• Thekettle is designed for indoor use only.
• Thekettle must only be used as described in this instruction
manual.
• Only operate thekettle using thesupplied base.
• Do not overfill thekettle by exceeding theMAX level on
thewater level window. If thekettle is overfilled, boiling water
may splash out.
• Note: Ensure that thekettle is placed on afirm, flat surface
before it is switched on.
• Note: Ensure that themains lead, plug, theelectrical
connections on thebase and thekettle are clean, dry and
intact before switching thekettle on.
• Note: Make sure that thefilter is correctly fitted and that
thelid is closed properly before switching thekettle on. If
thefilter is not fitted correctly or thelid is not closed properly,
thekettle will not switch off and there is arisk of boiling hot
water splashing out.

• Note: Never fill thekettle when it is on thebase. Remove
thekettle from thebase and fill it with water carefully. Ensure
that thebase and thebody of thekettle are completely dry
before placing thekettle on thebase and switching it on.
• Never fill thekettle with water when it is switched on.
• Never use thekettle near naked flames or hot surfaces.
• Clean theexterior of thekettle by wiping it with adamp cloth.
Never use solvents or corrosive cleaning products. Use amild
cleaning agent.
• Never use thekettle to heat any other liquid than water.
• Never touch thekettle whilst it is switched on. Hot steam can
cause burns.
• Never leave thekettle switched on unattended and always
unplug thekettle after use.
• Never use thekettle if it has been dropped or is damaged in
any way.
• Thekettle is only intended for normal domestic use.
• Warning: Water must not come into contact with thebase.
• Warning: Risk of personal injury if theinstructions in this
manual are not followed.
• Neither thekettle nor thebase must be immersed in water.
• Bear in mind that thebase and certain parts of thekettle will
remain hot even after thekettle has been switched off.

Before initial use
Before using thekettle you should boil two kettles of water in it in order to rinse it of
any residue. Never boil thekettle when it contains water mixed with washing-up liquid
or other detergents.
Operating instructions
• Make sure that thespout filter is fitted securely.
• Open thekettle by lifting thelid straight up and then fill thekettle with cold water.
Do not fill thejug above themax level mark.
• Close thelid.
• Connect themains lead to aearthed wall socket.
• Place thekettle on thebase and set thepower switch to I. Thepower indicator
light will come on to indicate that thekettle is switched on.
• Thekettle turns off automatically and theindicator lamp goes out once thewater
has boiled. Theswitch returns to the 0position.
Note: Never turn thekettle on when it is empty.
Boil-dry protection
If you should turn on thekettle while it is empty theboil-dry protection will activate and
automatically turn off thekettle. Let thekettle cool before attempting to use it again.

Care and maintenance
Always unplug thelead from thepower point and let thekettle cool down properly
before cleaning it. If necessary, theexterior of thekettle can be wiped with alightly
moistened cloth.
Cleaning thefilter
Clean thespout filter regularly.
Procedure:
1. Pull out filter from its retaining grooves.
2. Clean the filter.
3. Slide the filter back into its retaining grooves.
Descaling
Due to thenatural occurrence of calcium in water, limescale deposits may form in
thekettle after some use. Limescale deposits might lengthen thetime needed for
water to boil.
For descaling, use amixture of water and white vinegar (acetic acid) or aspecial
descaling agent that can be purchased at most supermarkets.
1. Mix 100 ml of white vinegar (12 %, not regular vinegar) with 300 ml cold water or
follow thedirections included with thedescaling agent.
2. Pour themixture into thekettle and turn it on. Boil up themixture 2 times, and then
pour it out.
3. In order to remove thelast remnants of limescale and descaling agent, thekettle
should be filled to themax mark with fresh cold water. Turn thekettle on and let it
come to theboil.
4. Pour out thewater and repeat this process 3 times. Thekettle is now ready to
use again.
Thekettle should be descaled after 2–3 months daily use or whenever it has visible
limescale deposits.

incorrect waste disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling
so that thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible manner. When

• Obs! Se till att filtret är korrekt monterat och att locket är
ordentligt stängt innan vattenkokaren slås på. Vattenkokaren
slår inte av och risk finns för att hett vatten kastas ut om
locket inte är ordentligt stängt eller on filtret är felmonterat.
