• Never stand close to thewinch drum when thewinch is underload.
Keepat adistance of at least 1.5m.
• Never step over or crawl under thecable when thewinch is underload.
• When using thewinch to move objects, thevehicle should be in neutral gear with
thehandbrake on and its wheels chocked. Thevehicle’s engine should be running
when thewinch is in use. Ifyou use thewinch for along time with theengine
switched off, thebattery could go flat making it difficult to start thevehicle again.
• Never put thewinch in neutral when it is underload.
• When you have finished winching, disconnect theload. Donot leave thecable
under tension after you have finished winching.
• Always maintain asafe distance from thecable, hook anddrum.
• Inspect thecable and other equipment regularly. Akinked or frayed winch cable
should be replaced immediately. Useonly approved spares. Wearthick leather gloves
when handling thewinch cable. Donot let thecable slide through your fingers.
• Do not touch thewinch, thetaut cable or thehook when thewinch is in operation.
Neverhold thehook with your finger. Yourfinger can be pulled out if it gets caught
in thehook.
• After using thewinch, keep thecable taut when winding it back onto thedrum.
Makesure that thecable is wound evenly onto thedrum.
• Do not use thewinch whilst under theinfluence of drugs, alcohol or medicine.
Stayalert whilst using thewinch.
• Always wear suitable protective clothing such as non-slip safety shoes,
ear defenders, gloves, etc.
• Do not modify or weld thewinch.
• Service thewinch regularly. Regularly check that all nuts and bolts aretight.
• Never connect thewinch to voltages of 110 V or 230 V as it can short-circuit or
give you anelectric shock.
• The winch must not be immersed inwater.
• The winch must never be used if it or any of its accessories is damaged in anyway.
