Theconnectorsarelocatedonthebackoftherouter.Fromlefttoright:

INIT –Resetbutton.Useapapercliporsimilartopushinandrestartandreset

WPS

3. Installation
3.1 Modem and computer connections
1. Turnoffalldevices(includingtherouter)tobeconnectedbefore
beginninginstallation.
2. Positiontheaerialupright.
3. ConnectanetworkcablebetweenthexDSL/cablemodemandtheWANport
(WAN)ontherouter.
4. TurnonthexDSL/cablemodem.
5. Connecttheadaptortotherouter’sDCconnection(5VDC)andthentoan
availablewallsocket.Thegreen“PWR“LEDlightswhentherouteristurnedon.
6. Whenstartedtherouterwillconductaself-testwhichlastsabout5seconds.
7. N.B.Ifanyorseveralofthecomputersaretobeconnectedviaanetwork
cable(andnotusewirelesstransfer)anetworkcableisneededbetweenone
oftheLANports(LAN1,2,3,or4)andthecomputer’snetworkcard.Restart
thecomputersthatareconnectedtotherouterwiththenetworkcable.
8. Congurethecomputers.
Connecttheroutertoyourbroadbandmodem/broadbandoutletaccordingto
thepicture.



• Inthissectionthecomputermustbeconnectedtotheroutervianetworkcable.
• TheseinstructionsareonlyvalidforWindowsXP/Vista.
4.1 Checking the broadband connection
CheckwithyourbroadbandproviderregardingyourtypeofInternetconnection.
DifferentInternetprovidersusedifferentconnectionmethodsforconnectingto
theInternet.Themostcommonconnectionmethodsare:
PPPoE
AutomaticallyassignsIPaddressviaPPPoE.Entertheusernameandpassword
receivedfromyourInternetprovider.
Dynamic
AutomaticallyassignsIPaddressfromaDHCPserver.
Nouserinformationneeded.
Static(permanentIP-address)
EntertheinformationreceivedfromyourInternetprovider.SelectInternet Con-
nection TypeorWAN Type Select(dependingoncongurationmethod)inthe
routermenu.
4.2 Checking possible firewalls
Ensurethatallcomputersconnectedtotherouterdonothavearewall
programmeactivated,e.g.InternetSecurityorZoneAlarm.
4.3 Checking the computer’s settings
CheckthatthecomputerissettoautomaticallyreceiveanIPaddressandthatthe
computerhasreceivedacorrectIPaddressfromtherouter.
1. Windows XP:ClickonStartandselectRun….
Windows Vista:ClickontheWindows icon,enterCmdinthesearchwindow
andpress[Enter].

3. TypeipcongandcheckthatthecomputerreceivesacorrectIPaddress
(inthiscase192.168.1.4)andgateway(192.168.1.254).
IfthecomputerisnotassignedanIPaddress,refertotheTroubleshootingguide.
4.4 Opening the configuration interface
1. Entertherouter’sIPaddress(192.168.1.254)intheaddresseldofyour
webbrowser(e.g.InternetExplorer)andpress[Enter]toconnecttothe
wirelessrouter.

N.B.
Ifyouareusingamodemwithanin-builtrouteritwillchangeIPaddresses
automaticallytoavoidconictsonthenetwork(e.g.192.168.2.254).
