2. How to use
(1) Preparation
Clean the jug, the funnel and the lid. Wash the jug and the funnel with a clean
sponge soaked in diluted mild kitchen detergent. Make sure all detergent is
thoroughly rinsed off after cleaning. Do not wet the lid, wipe the lid with a clean cloth.
Do not use detergent on the cartridge.
Peel the tape on the Media cartridge before use. Wash the Media cartridge with
tap water. Then soak and shake it in the tap water to remove any air bubbles (Fig.
1). Insert and press the HFM cartridge into the funnel (Fig. 2) and then the Media
cartridge into it horizontally (Fig. 3). NO GOOD if the cartriges are leaning. Pour
water into the jug until it is 2/3 full (Fig. 4). Place the funnel into the jug (Fig. 5).
Leave to stand for 20 minutes and confirm the activated carbon is NOT inclined (Fig. 6).
Pour away the water that has collected in the funnel and the jug (Fig. 7). Pour water
into the funnel until it reaches the water line above and then allow it to
filter naturally (Fig. 8). Once the water in the funnel has been filtered, pour away the
water that has collected in the jug (Fig. 9).
*New cartridges usually take longer time to filter water. Additional time is required
when the water temperature is low.
Repeat procedures (Fig. 8) and (Fig. 9) twice more (for a total of 3 times.).
Before use, press the counter button on the lid for 2-5 seconds to reset the timing.

Pour tap water into the funnel until it reaches the water line (Fig. 11). Attach the lid to
the jug. Ensure the lid is closed. Keep the jug upright to allow filtering to take place
for general storage (Fig. 12). Add more tap water after all water has been filtered to
attain 1.2L. Pour away the water that has collected in the jug after all of the water in
the funnel has been filtered. Failure to do this will result in filtered water with unfiltered
water (Fig. 13).
* You can remove the lid by pushing up the back part of it with your fingers (Fig. 14).
* Every time you change the cartridge, follow the procedures in (Fig. 1-8).
The counter reminds you when its time to change the Media cartridge (Fig. 15). To
see the status of the Media cartridge, press the counter button for 0.5-2 seconds.
Each dot refers to a lifetime of about 1 week. The four dots light at the onset, and
one turns off every other week. Thirty days after beginning of use, when you press
the counter button, all four dots will be blinking. At this point please change the Media
cartridge. To reset the timing, press the counter button for 2-5 seconds.
* When the filter jug is not in use, press the counter button for more than 7 seconds to
turn the power off.

The replacing period of the Media cartridge is approximately 1 month. The HFM
cartridge should be replaced approximately every 12 months. These periods may
differ in accordance with the quantity, the quality, and the temperature of used water.
Earlier replacement of these cartridges is recommended in the following cases.
When you notice odor or taste of chlorine.
When it has not been used for a long time.
Remove the used cartridges by swinging from side to side (Fig. 16) and pulling
upward (Fig. 17). Then dispose of it in accordance with local waste regulations.
Every time you change the cartridges, ensure both of them are fitted into the funnel
correctly. Follow the procedure in (Fig. 1-8) to install a new cartridge system.
The Media cartridge makes hard water (approximately 200 mg/L as CaCO3) softener
up to 100 liters.

Wash the jug and the funnel periodically with a clean sponge soaked in diluted mild

safe (max.65C). Do not wash the lid in the dishwasher, wipe it with a clean cloth.
The battery for the counter has a life of approximately 3 years.
At the end of its life, the counter must be taken to a special local
authority differentiated waste collection center or to a dealer
providing this service. The counter can be removed from the lid
by the flat-head screw driver.

5. Important Notes
Please adhere to the following instructions. Failure to do so may result in the spread
of bacteria or damage to the product.
●Always use tap water that meets the legal requirements for drinking water.
●In case you are requested by the authorities to boil the tap water because
of contamination, then Cleansui filtered water must also be boiled. When
the authorities classify the tap water again as harmless and release it for
consumption, the entire Cleansui water filter system must be cleaned and a new
cartridge must be inserted.
●Do not use Cleansui water filter system for the production of potable water; it
may not be used for treatment of contaminated water.
●Do not touch the inside of the jug, the spout or the cartridge with dirty hands or
with a soiled sponge.
●Do not leave the cartridges within easy reach of children.
3. Specification and Performance

(1) For filtered water
●Do not place anything other than tap water inside the jug.
●Do not use filtered water for keeping fish or other marine life.
●Do not pass water with a temperature of 35 degrees Celsius or higher through
the filter.
●Keep cool and for no longer than 48 hours when storage. Filtered water is
intended to be used relatively quickly.
●Always ensure that the jug, funnel and cartridge are set in place.
●Store the entire jug in a refrigerator at all times once the water has passed
through the cartridge.
●To make chilled water from ice cubes, place the ice in the funnel.
●Stop using Cleansui immediately in the event of damaged.
●For people with a reduced immune response and for the preparation of infant
formula, it is generally recommended that tap water should be boiled; this is also
applicable for Cleansui filtered water.
(2) For water filter
●Do not heat.
• Failure to observe this may result in damage to the insulating material, etc.
• Never place the jug inside microwave ovens or other ovens.
●Do not place or store Cleansui water filter system in locations subject to high
temperatures (locations subject to direct sunlight, inside cars that are parked in
direct sunlight, etc.)
• Failure to observe this may result in damage to the insulating material, etc.
• Failure to observe this may result in deterioration of performance or a reduced
life-span.
●Do not place Cleansui in the freezer or chilling chamber.
(Failure to observe this may result in damage or deterioration of performance.)
●Store cartridges in a cool and dry place. Keep the cartridges in the original
packed plastic bags until to use.
●Do not use cleansers or thinners to clean.
●Do not use detergent to wash the cartridges.
●
Do not use until all of the water in the funnel has been filtered.
(Failure to observe this may result in filtered water becoming mixed in with
unfiltered water.)
●
Do not cover the air hole in the cartridge.
(Failure to observe this may result in extended filtering times.)
(3) For daily usage

Flow rate and the period for replacing the cartridge will differ in accordance with
the amount of water use, water quality and water temperature.
●
Do not use hot-spring water, well water or any other water that contains large
amounts of impurities.
●
The filter cannot remove salt (seawater) or metallic ions (except lead) contained
in water.
●
Do not eat or drink the filter material. If accidentally swallowed, wash your mouth
with water and consult your doctor.
●
For hygiene reasons the Media cartridge (GPCAC3) contents are specially
treated with sliver. A very small amount of silver may be transferred to the
water. This transference would be within the World Health Organization (WHO)
guidelines.

available for a minimum of two years after the product has been discontinued.
Verbatim Limited warrants this product to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. This warranty excludes
batteries. If this product is found to be defective within the warranty period, it will be
replaced at no cost to you. You may return it with your original cash register receipt
