Clear-Com FreeSpeak II User manual

FreeSpeak II™
Quick Start Guide for the stand-alone system
A FreeSpeak II (FS II) system consists of five main elements:
•Wireless beltpacks (FSII BP19)
•The Base station (FSII-BASE-19) that routes communication to and from the beltpacks and other
audio devices
•Antennas (FSII-TCVR-19) that provide custom coverage zones in which the beltpacks operate
•Optional antenna splitters (PD2203) that run up to 5 separate antennas.
•Suitable headsets such as the Clear-Com CC-300-X4
Note: For more information about the system see the FreeSpeak II User Guide.
1. Connecting the transceiver/antennas to the Base station
To connect the antennas to the Base station:
1) Using 4-pair shielded screened cable (CAT-5/5e/6) with RJ45 connectors, connect the antennas to the
Base station. Up to 5 antennas can be connected to each transceiver port using an antenna splitter, or
two antennas can be connected directly to the Base station. The Base station can power cable
lengths of up to 200m. Powering antennas or splitters individually can increase cable lengths to a
maximum of 1000m. See Wiring the antennas and splitters in the User Guide for more information.
2) When the transceiver/antennas are connected, turn on the Base station and wait for it to boot.
2. Using the Beltpacks
The system arrives with a default audio set-up and configuration so the system can simply be wired and
powered for basic use. The default set-up has two partyline (conference) audio channels (A & B). Each channel
talks to:
•All the beltpacks on that channel
•The wired partyline (see connectors above, PL CH-A and PL CHA-B)
•The head set on the Base station.
To customise an audio channel configuration please refer to the FreeSpeak II User Guide.
