Field Replacement Procedure

Assembled APS Power Supply Module for SAILOR XTR and SAILOR VSAT
Field replacement procedure
Brief Summary:
Field replacement document for replacing the Assembled Power Supply Module (APS) in the
following units:
Replacing the part in 407516A SAILOR XTR Below Deck Unit
Replacing the part in 407016C SAILOR VSAT Antenna Control Unit
WARNING, to avoid injury follow the instructions in this procedure.
Spare part:
S-62-147592 Assembled APS -F/S900E Power Supply Module
Location of the part:
Inside the SAILOR XTR Below Deck Unit or the SAILOR VSAT Antenna Control Unit.

Replacing the part in 407516A SAILOR XTR Below Deck Unit
1. Remove the power cable from the BDU.
IMPORTANT: Do not start the
disassembling before the power cable has
been removed.
Wait for approx. 10 seconds for the capacitors to
discharge.
2. Remove all 16 screws of the top cover of the
BDU and remove the top plate.
3. Unplug the 3 cables connected to the APS:
FAN, Flatcable,
Multi wire cable
Power switch cable
4. Remove the 2 screws holding AC power inlet to
the cabinet.
5. Remove the 2 screws on the back and 4
screws on the bottom to remove the APS
from the cabinet.
6. Mount the new APS module.

7. Add the 2 screws on the back and 4 screws
on the bottom to attach the APS module to
the cabinet.
8. Add the 2 screws holding AC power inlet to
the cabinet.
9. Connect the 3 cables connected to the APS
module:
FAN, Flatcable,
Multi wire cable
Power switch cable
10. Add all 16 screws of the top cover of the BDU
and fasten the top plate.

Replacing the part in 407016C SAILOR VSAT Antenna Control Unit
1. Remove the power cable from the ACU.
IMPORTANT: Do not start the
disassembling before the power cable has
been removed.
Wait for approx. 10 seconds for the capacitors to
discharge.
2. Remove all 16 screws of the top cover and 5
screws on each side of the ACU and remove the
top plate.
3. Unplug the 4 cables connected to the APS:
FAN
Flatcable,
Multi wire cable
Power switch cable
4. Remove the 2 screws holding AC power inlet
to the cabinet.
5. Remove the 2 screws on the back and 4
screws on the bottom to remove the APS
from the cabinet.
6. Mount the new APS module.

7. Add the 2 screws on the back and 4 screws
on the bottom to attach the APS module to
the cabinet.
8. Add the 2 screws holding AC power inlet to the
cabinet.
9. Connect the 4 cables connected to the APS
module:
FAN
Flatcable
Multi wire cable
Power switch cable
10. Add all 16 screws of the top cover cover and 5
screws on each side of the ACU and fasten the
top plate.
Verify the initialization of the SAILOR XTR or VSAT system:
After replacing the defective component re-initialize the pedestal and verify its operation.
1. Switch on the BDU or ACU.
2. Power up the VSAT modem.
3. Perform an Extended POST. Verify that it is completed without any errors or warnings.
4. Verify that the system is online and fully functional.
