Safety
• Read through theinstruction manual before use.
• Never use spare parts or accessories which are not recommended by thesupplier.
• The charger is only intended for charging rechargeable lead-acid batteries for
cars, boats, recreational vehicles and for maintenance-free lead acid and so-
called Gel-batteries. Charging other types of batteries than these can damage
thecharger, battery or other property.
• The charger is not suitable for batteries rated under 50 Ah.
• Battery acid is corrosive. If any acid comes into contact with your skin or eyes:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water and immediately contact adoctor.
• The charger is not intended for use as apower supply unit.
• Only charge rechargeable batteries.
• Only use thebattery charger indoors in awell-ventilated place.
• During charging thebattery can emit explosive gases. It is therefore important
to avoid making sparks close to thebattery. Avoid letting thecharger clamps
come into contact with each other at all costs. Do not smoke in thevicinity of
thebattery during charging.
• Wear safety glasses and turn your face away when you connect or disconnect
thecharger clamps.
• Do not cover thecharger.
• Do not leave thecharger unattended for long periods while in use.
• Never expose thecharger to moisture or humidity.
• Always disconnect thecharger from thepower supply before cleaning it or when
it is not in use.
• Do not pull themains lead when disconnecting from thewall socket.
• Never use thecharger if it is damaged. Do not charge damaged batteries.
• Do not open thecasing. Certain components inside thecasing are exposed and
carry dangerous electrical current. Contact with these could result in electric shock.
• The charger should only be repaired by qualified service personnel.
• Avoid charging small batteries with alower capacity than that recommended in
thespecification. This may lead to thebattery becoming overheated.
• Do not charge acold battery with frozen electrolyte. Let it thaw before starting
acharge.
• This product must not be used by anyone (including children) suffering from
physical or mental impairment. This product should not be used by anyone
without sufficient experience or knowledge if they have not been instructed in its
use by someone who will take responsibility for their safety.
