Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ALCI), a safety
featurethatrendersitinoperableundersome
abnormal conditions, such as immersion in
water. To make sure the ALCI is functioning
properly,performthefollowingtest.Thepur-
pose of this test is to allow you to make sure
the water sensing system (ALCI) is working.
1.Plugin the applianceandpresstestbutton
on plug (See appropriate diagram below).
2.Theappliancewillstopworking.Therewillbe
an audible click and reset button will pop out.
3. To reset ALCI with a reset button, unit
shouldbeunplugged.Thenpushresetbutton
in, and reinsert plug into outlet.
4. If ALCI is not functioning properly, return
appliance to nearest service center.
5. It is important that if immersion occurs,
this unit be brought to a service center. Do
not try to reset.
6. Be sure to repeat test every time you use
the unit to confirm ALCI is operational.
Should the appliance go off and the reset
button pop up during use, this could indi-
cate a malfunction in the unit. Remove plug
from outlet and allow the appliance to cool.
Reinsert plug into outlet.
Theapplianceshouldthenfunctionnormally.
If not, return to an authorized Conair Service
Center for evaluation and repair.

casodequeocurransituacionesanormales,por
ejemplosielaparatocaealagua.Hagalaprueba
siguiente para asegurarse que el sistema de
detección de agua funcione correctamente.
1. Enchufe el aparato y apriete el botón de
prueba (véase el gráfico más abajo).
2. El aparato dejará de funcionar, se oirá un
clic y el botón de reajuste saltará.
3. Para reajustar el enchufe, asegúrese que
el aparato está desenchufado, luego apriete
el botón de reajuste y vuelva a enchufar
el aparato.
4. En caso de que el cortacircuito de segu-
ridad no esté funcionando correctamente,
lleve su aparato adonde lo ha comprado o a
