INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
This styling iron is intended for household
use. Use on Alternating Current (60 hertz)
only. This unit is designed to be operated at
120 volts A.C.
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade
is wider than the other.) As a safety feature,
this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
TO STYLE HAIR
Hair should be clean and completely dry before
using the 2-in-1 styling iron. Plug the iron into
an electrical outlet. Turn on unit. The Power/Low
285˚F default setting will become illuminated.
To turn off, press OFF button. Never leave your
styling iron on and unattended. However should
you fail to turn the unit off, it will shut itself off
automatically within 60 minutes.
WARNING: The styling iron’s tourmaline
ceramic-coated barrel will get very hot with-
in a few seconds and should not be placed in
contact with the skin after the styling iron has
been turned on.
GETTING STARTED
The iron’s unique 5 ultra-high heat temperature
settings and Instant Heat technology provide
styling versatility for all hair types. If you have
fine hair, a low temperature will provide the
best results. If you have thick, wavy or hard-
to-style hair, keep the heat setting on high.
You can vary the iron’s temperature according
to your particular need!
TEMPERATURE SETTING GUIDE
For best results, use a light styling product
before blow drying hair.
Some experience is necessary when learning
to use this styling iron. After using the iron
several times, you will learn the ideal way to
curl and style your hair.
STYLING WITH THE NEW
TOURMALINE CERAMIC™
TECHNOLOGY EASY-GLIDE BARREL
The barrel of your new styling iron features a
Tourmaline Ceramic™ technology easy-glide
surface, the newest technology. The Tourma-
line Ceramic™ coating helps smooth down
flyaways and frizzies. It evenly distributes heat
so that the style you create has a salon-perfect,
silky-smooth, shiny finish. Hair also slips right
through the barrel after it’s styled. This means
it’s not only simpler to clean off styling product
residue, after each use, but you’ll find that hair
glides easily over the surface of the barrel as
you’re styling.
The new Tourmaline Ceramic™technology is
a pleasure to work with and makes styling your
hair easier and the results more professional.
STRAIGHTENING BASICS
1. Start with a hair section that is 1" wide and
no more that 1/2" thick. Be sure locking
mechanism on cool tip is released to open
barrel for straightening.
2. Section hair evenly and comb each
section.
3. Place hair section between plates and press
together.
4. Slowly guide plates down hair strand. Repeat
as necessary until desired result is achieved.
LED TEMP. CONTROL HAIR TYPE
Power/Low 285ºF-310ºF Delicate, thin, easy-to-style hair
Medium 330ºFAverage-to-thick or treated hair
Med-High 360ºF Thick or wavy hair
High/Max 395ºF Hard-to-style hair
CURLING BASICS
1. Be sure the locking mechanism on cool tip is
locked to keep barrel closed while curling.
2. Section dry hair evenly, and comb each sec-
tion before winding. Pressing the automatic
curl release, place curling iron midway up the
hair section, then spread hair evenly between
spoon and barrel. Release automatic curl release
to hold hair in place. Gently slide curling iron
down to hair ends. To avoid crimped ends, make
sure they are securely wound under the spoon
in the direction of the desired curl. Remember,
always place the spoon above the hair strand
when making a curl you want rolled under; place
the spoon under the hair strand when making
a flip style.
3. Wind the hair up as far as you want it curled,
being careful not to let the iron touch the
scalp. Hold in place for 8-12 seconds depend-
ing on the texture and length of your hair. For
tighter, bouncier curls, roll less hair. For
looser, free-flowing curls, roll more hair.
4. When finished, unwind the hair and press the
automatic curl release. To set the curl, do not
comb or brush through hair until it cools.
USER MAINTENANCE
Your curling iron is virtually maintenance-free.
No lubrication is needed. Keep all vents and
openings clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning be-
comes necessary, disconnect the unit from the
power source, allow to cool and wipe exterior
with a cloth. If any abnormal condition occurs,
unplug the unit, allow it to cool, and return it
for repair to an authorized service representa-
tive only. No repairs should be attempted by
the consumer.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled,
twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the cord
tightly around the appliance. Damage will occur
at the high flex point of entry into the appliance,
causing it to rupture and short circuit. Inspect
the cord frequently for damage. Stop use im-
mediately if damage is visible or if unit stops
or operates intermittently.
STORAGE
When not in use, your appliance is easy to store.
Allow appliance to cool, then simply store out
of reach of children in a safe, dry location. Do
not jerk or strain cord at plug connections. Do
not wrap the line cord around the appliance.
Allow the cord to hang or lie loose and straight
at the point of entry into the appliance.
