Fixing CRX1 to the wall
Remove the wall plate from the rear of the CRX1 and mark through
the screw holes on the rear. Drill and plug the wall to accept No. 6 or
No. 8 screws and mount the wall plate. Attach the CRX1 back onto
the wall plate and tighten up the screws below.
Using CRX1 with supplied table top stand
CRX1 comes with a table top support that can be screwed to the
back of the unit, allowing it to stand upright on most at surfaces.
Basic operation
Before you can use CRX1, it has to be activated by tapping any
control icons. The LCD screen backlight will turn on upon activation.
To operate any control icon, tap within 2 seconds of CRX1
activation. As the CRX1 does not have any pre-set programming,
you will need to set the day, time and day programmes. To enter
any programming mode, touch and hold for 5 seconds.
Setup menu
1. Touch and hold and icons together for 10 seconds.
2. The CRX1 will enter the setup menu.
3. Use and to change a value.
4. Use to scroll between the settings.
01 – temperature calibration
The temperature reading has been factory calibrated but if for any
reason it needs adjusting (better accuracy required, to suit different
position in the room etc.) the reading can be recalibrated in 0.5
degrees steps.
02 – change between degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit
03 – set maximum temperature
04 – set minimum temperature
(- - - = heating OFF, 4deg = frost protection)

Choosing a position in the room
The CRX1 should be positioned in the same room as the heater. It
should be where its temperature will not be changed by local effects.
Avoid:
• Draughty places near windows, doors and vents.
• Places near the heater itself or any other heat sources in the room.

and maintenance.
Overview
The CRX1 is a wireless thermostat giving high precision room
temperature control. It is also a 7 day programmer with up to 6
temperature settings per day. Each CRX1 can control any number
of heaters in the same room (zone).
Batteries
Remove the CRX1’s battery cover and insert 2 new high quality
alkaline AAA batteries.
Warning: Consort is not responsible for damage due to corrosion.
Battery leakage will cause permanent damage. To help avoid this:
• Replace the batteries annually, even if there is not a low battery
warning. Remove failing or at batteries immediately.
• Always t a pair of new high quality alkaline batteries from the
same pack. Never mix new and old batteries, or batteries of
different brands or types.
• Never attempt to revive alkaline batteries by heating, crushing or
recharging.
Note: The clock has to be set after replacing the batteries. All
other settings are unaffected.
Pairing CRX1 with heaters
This must be done, otherwise the heater will not work.
Set heater into pairing mode.
1. Turn the power to the heater on. Count 4 seconds, turn power
OFF.
2. Turn the heater back ON, the light should be ashing green.
(If the light isn’t ashing green, the 4 seconds timing was
incorrect. Repeat step 1.)
3. The heater is now ready for pairing with CRX1.
This has to be done within 30 seconds. After 30 seconds the heater
will return to normal operating mode.
Set CRX1 into pairing mode.
1. Touch and hold and icons together for 10 seconds.
2. The display will show the CRX ID number.
3. Tap the button while the light on the heater is ashing
green.
If the pairing was successful, the light will stop ashing and the
heater is paired with CRX1. This has to be done within 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds, the CRX1 will return to normal operating mode.

ALARM!: ashes to indicate error in temperature settings for the
day e.g. the timing set for 2nd temperature setting precedes the
1st temperature setting.

Set time and 7-day programme
1. Touch and hold for 5 seconds to enter the time setting.
2. The minutes will ash.
3. Tap or to set the minutes.
4. To set hour, tap and the hour will begin to ash.
5. Tap or to set the hour.
6. To set day, tap and the day will begin to ash.
7. Tap or to select the day.
8. Tap to access the 7-day programming mode.
9. Tap or to select the day you want to set.
10. Tap to set programme 1 for selected day.
This is indicated by the ashing number next to PROG.
11. Tap or to select the temperature setting you want to
program i.e. 1 to 6
12. Tap to select minutes.
13. Tap or to set minutes.
14. Tap to select hour.
15. Tap or to set hour.
16. Tap to select temperature.
17. Tap or to set temperature.
Note: The programme is inactive if time and temperature are
showing dashes. Tap once to activate the temperature
setting selection before you programme the time and
temperature.
In order to set the next temperature setting for the same day:
1. Tap until you reach the temperature setting options again.
2. Tap or to select the next temperature setting for the
day.
3. Then follow steps 8 to 13 above.
To set temperature settings for a different day:
1. Navigate by tapping until the selection for day is ashing.
2. Then, follow steps 5 to 13 above.
Tip: You can copy a day’s heating schedule by using the “COPY
DAY” option in programming mode.
Note: Once you are happy with the settings, leave the thermostat
for 20 seconds or tap and hold for 5 seconds. The settings will
be saved and CRX1 will return to the main screen.
Copy day heating programme
The CRX1 allows you to copy a day’s heating programme to save
time re-entering the temperature settings for a day.
1. Touch and hold for 5 seconds to enter the time setting.
2. The minutes will ash.
3. To skip time setting, tap to cycle through hour and day.
4. On the next tap, the Programme mode is activated and the day
will ash.
5. Tap to activate the COPY DAY function.
6. Tap to select the day you want to copy the temperature
settings from.
7. Tap or to select the day you want to copy the temperature
settings to.
8. Tap to conrm the selection.
The ‘to’ word will ash to indicate that the day programme has
been copied to the day selected.
9. Tap to go back to the Programme mode.
Set programme inactive
To deactivate a programme, enter the programming mode. Select
the programme you want to make inactive and tap . The time and
temperature will now be dashes to indicate that the programme has
been deactivated. In order to re-activate the temperature setting,
tap again.
Operation modes
CRX1 has 4 operating modes: BOOST, MANUAL, SET BACK and
PROGRAM. Each mode can be selected by activating the CRX1 and
tapping to cycle through the options. The cycle sequence will
always start with BOOST mode followed by MANUAL, SET BACK and
PROGRAM.
15-Minutes Boost mode - BOOST
The boost feature regulates your heating to increase the room
temperature to provide the maximum comfort quickly.
1. To activate Boost feature, tap twice.
2. The Boost mode will show above the current temperature and
the 15-minutes timer will ash.
3. Tap or to set the temperature.
4. Once the temperature is set, wait for a few seconds for to
ash.
5. The heating is now in Boost mode.
To amend the set temperature, tap any control button once to
activate, then tap or to change the temperature. Once the
temperature is set, you can leave the thermostat and the settings will
be saved. After 15 minutes, the CRX1 will return to normal operating
mode.
Manual mode - M
In manual mode, the heater maintains the set temperature.
1. To activate manual mode, tap twice.
2. Tap to cycle through to MAN operating mode.
3. Tap or to set the temperature.
To amend the set temperature, tap any control button once to
activate, then tap or to change the temperature. Once the
temperature is set, leave the thermostat and the settings will be
saved.
Setback mode - SETB
The setback feature lowers all set temperatures in the 7-day
programme by a set value.
1. To activate setback mode, tap twice.
2. Tap to cycle through to SETB operating mode.
3. Tap to decrease the temperature.
Programme mode - PROG
In this mode, the CRX1 will follow the day programme. You can
override the temperature in PROG mode by simply activating the
CRX1 and using the or icon to adjust the temperature. The
temperature set will then be maintained until the next temperature
setting for the day kicks in.
Fan function
Tap any control icon to activate the CRX1. Tap to activate or
deactivate the fan function.
Advance mode
Tap from SETB or PROG mode to bring forward next programme.
To clear advance mode, tap .
Locking CRX1
Tap and hold together for 5 seconds. Repeat the step to
unlock CRX1.
