TheX3isaDIYalarmsystemthatisdesignedformostpassengervehiclesandprotectsthevehicleand
itscontentfromtheft.TheX3systemconsistsof3maincomponentswiththefollowingfeatures.
Pleasenotedependingyou’reyourmodelpurchased,componentsandfeaturesmaydifferentslightly
fromthoseshown.
WirelessSirenandSensorModule
TheSirenandsensormoduleisthecoremoduleoftheX3system.Itisveryeasytoinstallrequiringonly
2wiresforpower.The3rd,shorterwireistheantennaforthesystem.
Themoduleincludesasirenaswellastwoin‐builtsensors:
•Milli‐voltSensor–Thissensorconstantlymonitorsthebatteryvoltageofthecarandistriggeredby
smallvoltagedropscausedbythedoorsortrunkbeingopened
•ShockSensor‐Alarmistriggeredwhenthevehicleisbumped,disturbedortowed
Thesystemisarmed,disarmedaswellasprogrammedbytheRemoteFOBs.Themodulealsoincludes
theabilitytobetriggeredbyadditionalwirelesssensorssuchasthePressureSensormoduleshown
below.

PressureSensorModule
Thepressuresensormoduleisoneofthewirelesssensorsthatcanbeusedtotriggerthealarm.This
sensormonitorschangesinairpressurewithinthevehicleandifadoorortrunkisopened,thisshould
triggerthesensor.
Pleasenotethattoworkcorrectly,thissensorrequiresthatwindows,sunrooforanyothervehicle
openingsareclosed.
Thesensorischargedbyinsertioninyourvehicleauxiliarypowerplugandoncechargedcanbe
removedifrequiredanditwillcontinuetofunctionelsewhereinthevehicleaslongasthebattery
remainscharged.

Althoughpre‐configuredattimeofmanufacture,thesensordoeshaveasensitivityadjustmentonthe
sidewhichcanbechangedusingasmallPhillips‐headscrewdriver,shouldthisberequired.
RemoteFOBs
YoursystemwillbesuppliedwithoneormoreremoteFOBs.TheremotecontrolsusedfortheX3are
code‐hoppingtoensuremaximumsecurity.EachFOBhas2buttons.Thefeaturesanduseofthese
buttonsisdescribedinthefollowingsection.

ArmandDisarm
Thelargebuttonshowinglockandunlocksymbolsisusedtoarmanddisarmthesystem.Thesirenwill
respondwithtwochirpswhenarmedandasinglechirpwhendisarmed.
PanicModeorVehicleLocator
Holdingthelargebuttondownformorethan3seconds(wheneitherarmedordisarmed)willtriggerthe
sirenfor30seconds.Iftheremoteispressedtocancelthesiren,theunitwillreturntothedisarmed
state.Ifthealarmisnotcancelledbytheremoteandtimesout,theX3willreturntothepreviousstate
(armed/disarmed).
Pleasenote:inthefinalproductionversion,itisintendedtomovethevehiclelocatorfunctiontothe
smallbutton,whereitwilltriggeradifferentrepeatingchirpsequence.Holdingdownthesmallbuttonin
thesamplebatchwillinvokeasleepfunctionwheretheremoteswillbedisabledfor1minute–this
functionwasinsertedfortestingpurposesonly.
ProgrammingandDiagnostics
TheX3hasanumberofprogramminganddiagnosticfeatureswhichareselectedviaacombinationof
buttonpresses.Thesefunctionsaredescribedindetaillaterinthismanual.
Sleepmode
Thesleepmodeisforfuturecompatibilitywithplannedenhancementstothesystem.Whendisarmed,
holdthebottombuttonformorethan3secondsandthesirenwillchirpquickly.Theunitwillnowbe
asleepfor1minuteandwillnotrespondtoanyremotebuttons.After1minutetheunitwillagainchirp
quicklytosignalthatitisnowawake

Observation
Pleaseobservethefollowinginstructions:
•Securetheparkingbrakeandotheraidsinstalledinthevehicleinsuchawaythatthe
vehiclecannotbemovedinadvertentlyunderanycircumstancesandcauseinjury.
•SecureandinstallanypartsoftheX3systeminsuchamannerthattheycannot
becomelooseandcausedamagetootherpartsinthevehicleorimpairvehicle
functions(steering,brakes,etc)
•Alwaysfollowthesafetyinstructionsofthevehiclemanufacturer.Someworkon
certainvehiclesmayonlybeperformedbyqualifiedspecialists.
•Whenmakingelectricalconnections,ensurethattheyarenotkinkedortwisted;they
donotrubonedgesandarenotlaidinsharpedgedductswithoutprotection.
•Securethecableagainstmechanicalwearwithcablebindersorinsulatingtape.
Ifyoudisconnectthenegativeterminalofthevehiclebattery,somedatastoredin
volatilememorymaybelost.Thefollowingareexamplesofsomevehicleequipment
whichmaybeaffected:
•RadioCode,On‐boardcomputer,Vehicleclock,Seatposition
Youwillfindinstructionforthesesettingsintheirrespectiveoperatinginstructions.

Topreventtheriskofshortcircuits,donotwearmetallicobjectssuchasrings,watchesandthelike
whenconnectingtheX3tothebattery.Ensurethatyoudonotshortthepositivebatteryterminalto
ground(suchasthebodyofthecar)viatheinstallationtools.
►Locatethevehiclebatteryandcarefullyremovetheprotectivecoversthatarecoveringthepositive
andnegativeterminals.
Warning:SoundHazard–Soundlevelfromsirenspeaker(>120dBA@1meter)maycausehearing
damage.Donotoperatesirenwithoutadequatehearingprotectionforyouandanyoneinthe
immediatevicinity.

thescrewsandnutsprovidedasshownbelow:

►InstalltheSirenModuletothemountingbracketusingthescrewsandnutsprovided.Thesirencan
bemountedatanumberofdifferentanglestosuityourvehicleasshownintheimagesbelow.
Whereverpossible,itisrecommendedtomountthesirenwiththeopeningfacingdownwards,towards
thegroundasshownintheexamplesbelow.
►Loosenthenutonthebatterynegativeterminal(black)andconnecttheX3negativewire(black)to
thebatterynegativeterminal.
►Loosenthenutonthebatterypositiveterminal(red)andconnecttheX3positivewire(red)tothe
batterypositiveterminal.

YourX3shouldcomewiththeFOBsandPressuresensorprogrammedintothesirenmodule.Ifthisis
notthecaseforyourproduct,pleaseseetheTroubleshootingsection.
InstallingtheLowPressureSensor
►PlugtheLowPressureSensorModuleintothevehicleauxiliary/lighterplug.
√TheLowPressureSensorwillenterchargingmodewhenpowerissuppliedtotheauxiliaryplug.The
redLEDontheLowPressureSensorwillremainontoindicatethatthebatteryischarging.
►ThesensitivityoftheLowPressureSensorcanbetunedbyadjustingtheSensitivityAdjustment
Screw.
ProgrammingMode
TheX3canbecustomizedviatheProgrammingMode.
ProgrammingmodeisenteredbyholdingbothremoteFOBbuttonsdownfor4seconds,afterwhichthe
sirenwillchirp4times.Thenthelargebuttonispressedanumberoftimestoenteraspecific
programmingmodeasshowninthetablebelow.Whenpressingtheremotetoenteraspecific
programmingmode,thepressesshouldbedoneroughly1secondapart.

yourvehiclesize,thespecificlocationinthevehiclethattheX3isinstalledandtheenvironmentin
whichyourvehicleisused.

Troubleshooting
Antinuisancefeature
Whenarmed,theX3isdesignedtosoundthesirenfor30secondswhentriggered.TheX3isdesigned
withananti‐nuisancefeaturewhereinthesystemwilldisableatriggercircuitandnotsoundthealarmif
thatparticularcircuithasbeentriggeredmorethan3timessinceitwasarmed.Upondisarmed,the
triggercountforthatcircuitisreset.Thisisimportantforexampleifthevehicleisparkedinaparking
garageanditsshocksensorisbeingconstantlytriggeredbyanearbyjackhammer.
InitialConnectionandLearnMode
NotethatfortheinitialsamplebatchofX3s,theremoteFOBsandPressureSensorarealreadypre‐
programmedintothesirenmodule.Forfutureproductionversionsthismaynotbethecaseandthe
initiallearnmodedescribedbelowshouldbefollowed.
√Uponconnectiontothebattery,theX3willcommenceLearnModeandwillchirp3hightonesand3
lowtones.
►ProgramthefirstremoteintotheX3bypressinganyofthebuttonsontheremotecontrol.
√TheX3willstopchirpingindicatingthatyouhavesuccessfullyprogrammedinthefirstremotecontrol.
►Toverify,youcanpressthelock/unlockbuttonandobservethefollowing:
