Bevor Sie dieses Gerät einsetzen, lesen Sie bitte sorgfältig die Gebrauchsanweisung.
Medizinische Erklärung für die Wirkung der Lichttherapie
Heute weiß man, dass Licht für viele physiologische Prozesse als natürlicher Zeitgeber wirkt. Das helle Licht gelangt über
die Augen und die Sehnerven in Form elektrischer Impulse zur „Inneren Uhr“ unseres Gehirns. Sie nutzt die Hell-Dunkel-
Informationen und veranlasst andere Hirnstrukturen zur rhythmischen Ausschüttung chemischer Botenstoffe. So wird
durch das sehr helle Licht die Produktion der die Stimmung positiv beeinflussenden Botenstoffe angeregt, und die Pro-
duktion des Schlafhormons gestoppt.
Verwendungszweck der DAVITA®-Lichttherapiegeräte
Die Lichttherapiegeräte LD 72 und LD 110 können bei folgendem Krankheitsbild eingesetzt werden:
Ø Winterdepression
Bevor das Lichttherapiegerät verwendet wird
Bitte prüfen Sie vor Anwendung den ordnungsgemäßen Zustand des Gerätes und die Funktionssicherheit.
Das Lichttherapiegerät darf nur freistehend in trockenen, geschlossenen und nicht explosionsgefährdeten Räumen
betrieben werden. Das Gerät ist nicht geeignet für den Einsatz in der Nähe von entflammbaren anästhetischen Mischungen
mit Luft oder mit Sauerstoff oder Lachgas. Das Gehäuse sollte nicht direkt der Sonne ausgesetzt werden.
Durchführung der Lichttherapie
Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine ebene Fläche und stecken Sie den Stecker in eine Steckdose. Nehmen Sie in einem Abstand
von ca. 55 cm bei der LD 72 und ca. 45 cm bei der LD 110 vor dem Gerät Platz. Die Anwendungsdauer bei der LD 72
beträgt bei dem o. a. Abstand ca. 2 Stunden und ca. 1 Stunde bei der LD 110.
Wenn Sie den Wippschalter bei der LD 72 und LD 110 auf „Ein“ stellen, beginnt das Gerät zu leuchten. Die LD 72 und LD
110 müssen manuell ausgeschaltet werden.
Während der Anwendung sollten die Augen geöffnet sein. Sie können während der Anwendung z.B. lesen, fernsehen oder
anderen Aktivitäten nachgehen. Alle 1 – 2 Minuten sollten Sie für ein paar Sekunden direkt in das Lichttherapiegerät
schauen. Ein ununterbrochenes Starren in die Leuchte sollte vermieden werden. Wenn Sie das Lichttherapiegerät nach
der Anwendung verpacken möchten, warten Sie mindestens 15 Minuten, damit es sich abkühlen kann.
Wichtig: Die Lichttherapiegeräte dürfen nur mit den Original-Gehäuseteilen zum Schutz gegen UV-Strahlen betrieben wer-
den.

Befestigung der Lichttherapiegeräte LD 72 und LD 110 an der Wand
Die Lichttherapiegeräte LD 72 und LD 110 können auch an der Wand befestigt werden.
Auf der Rückseite im oberen Bereich dieser Lichttherapiegeräte befindet sich in der Mitte unterhalb der Lüftungsschlitze
eine Öffnung (Siehe Abbildung). An dieser Öffnung können die Geräte
mit Hilfe einer Schraube an der Wand befestigt werden. Je nach Art
der Wand muss jeweils eine geeignete Schraube, evtl. mit Dübel
verwendet werden. So z.B. eine Holzschraube, die in einen
Spreizdübel geschraubt wird. Die Schraube und der Dübel sind nicht
im Lieferumfang enthalten.
Der Schraubenkopf darf eine max. Höhe von 6 mm und einen max.
Durchmesser von 8 mm nicht überschreiten. Der Abstand von der
Wand bis zum Schraubenkopfende darf max. 8 mm aufweisen. Der
Schraubenschaft darf einen maximalen Durchmesser von 4 mm ha-
ben. Die Belastung der Befestigungsschraube sowie die Beschaffenheit der Wand, an die das Gerät aufgehängt werden
soll, muss eine Tragkraft von mindestens 3 kg haben.
Bei den Lichttherapiegeräten LD 72 und LD 110 muss der Standfuß vor dem Aufhängen abgeschraubt werden. Dazu sind
die rechte und die linke Rändelschraube vom Fuß komplett zu entfernen, so dass der Fuß komplett vom Geräteoberteil
abgezogen werden kann. Anschließend sollten die Schrauben wieder zur Aufbewahrung eingeschraubt werden.
Betrieb der Lichttherapiegeräte mit dem DAVITON® oder dem Bodenstativ
Der DAVITON® (Zubehör, nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) gibt nach dem Einschalten alle 90 Sekunden einen Signalton
von 3 Sekunden Dauer ab. Während dieser Zeit sollten Sie direkt in die Lichtquelle schauen.
Häufigkeit und Zeitpunkt der Behandlung
Die Behandlung sollte in der Arztpraxis 2 – 3 Wochen 5 Mal pro Woche erfolgen, danach 2 – 3 Wochen 3 Mal pro Woche,
im Anschluss daran je nach Bedarf, sobald die Symptome wieder auftreten. Die Anwendung zu Hause kann insbesondere
in der Herbst-/Winterzeit täglich erfolgen.
Der optimale Behandlungszeitpunkt bei der Winterdepression ist der frühe Morgen oder die Zeit des größten Stim-
mungstiefs.
Nebenwirkungen und Kontraindikationen
Selten und meist nur kurz andauernd können als Nebenwirkungen der Lichttherapie Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit, Gereiztheit
und Augenbrennen auftreten. Eine absolute Kontraindikation (Gegenanzeigen), d.h. Umstände, die die Anwendung der
Lichttherapie verbieten, bestehen bisher nicht.
Bei allen Formen von Augenerkrankungen ist Vorsicht geboten, und es sollte der Augenarzt vorher aufgesucht werden.
Bei Patienten mit Lithiumbehandlung oder Medikamenten wie z.B. Fluoxetine, Imipramine u. a., die die Sensibilität des
Auges auf Licht erhöhen können, ist zusätzlich eine augenärztliche Überwachung der Lichttherapie erforderlich.
Sicherheits-Technische-Kontrolle
Mit der Durchführung der STK sind nur fachkundige, qualifizierte Unternehmen zu beauftragen. Geeignete Mess- und
Prüfeinrichtungen sind Bedingung. Das Medizinprodukt darf nur mit den in der Gebrauchsanweisung aufgeführten Zube-
hörteilen betrieben werden.
Gemäß MPBetreibV sind für die Lichttherapiegeräte bei Einsatz im gewerblichen Bereich mindestens alle 2 Jahre und
nach jeder Instandsetzung oder Aufbereitung eine STK notwendig.
Für die Behebung (Veranlassung der Behebung) der bei der STK festgestellten Mängel ist der Betreiber verantwortlich.

Reinigung, Wartung und Entsorgung
Eine besondere Wartung der Geräte ist nicht erforderlich. Zur Reinigung der Geräte (Gehäuseflächen) sollten haus-
haltsübliche, milde Reinigungsmittel (z.B. Glasreiniger) verwendet werden. Der Netzstecker ist vorher aus der Steckdose
zu ziehen.
Die Geräte sind wartungsfrei. Das Austauschen von Leuchtmitteln oder Durchführen von Reparaturen dürfen nur durch
DAVITA® oder von qualifizierten Unternehmen vorgenommen werden.
Verpackung: DAVITA® ist dem System „Grüner Punkt“ angeschlossen. Alle Verpackungsteile sind wieder
verwertbare Materialien und umweltfreundlich zu entsorgen. Bei den Lichttherapiegeräten LD 72 und LD 110
bestehen das Gehäuse und die vordere Abdeckung aus Kunststoff. Leuchtstofflampen sowie Geräte, die mit
dem gekreuzten Mülltonnensymbol gekennzeichnet sind, dürfen nicht über den Hausmüll entsorgt werden. Sie
sind verpflichtet solche Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräte separat zu entsorgen. Informieren Sie sich bitte bei Ihrer Kom-
mune über die Möglichkeit der geregelten Entsorgung.
Für die Rücknahme und Entsorgung von Batterien gilt das Batteriegesetz. Bundesweit gibt es Rücknahmestellen. Die
Batterien sind dabei in die grünen Sammelboxen zu werfen.

Before you use the instrument, please read carefully this user manual.
Medical explanation of the effect of light therapy
Today we know that sun light acts like a natural clock for many of our physiological processes. Bright light travels in the
form of electric impulses via the eyes and the optical nerves to the nervous system’s inner timer in our brain. This “time
giver” processes the information about light and darkness and instructs other parts of the brain to rhythmically distribute
chemical messengers. Bright light thus stimulates the production of chemical messengers which influences the mood and
suppresses the production of the body’s sleep inducing hormone.
How to use the DAVITA® light therapy units
The light therapy boxes LD 72 and LD 110 can be used for the following symptom:
Ø winter depression
Some basic information before using the light therapy units
Before use, kindly check that the instrument is in functional order and that there is no sign of damage. The user must check
that the equipment functions safely and see that it is in proper working condition before being used. Do not position the
equipment so that it is difficult to operate the disconnection device. Phototherapy instruments must only be operated
in dry and closed rooms that are free of any explosion risks. The device is not suitable for use in the presence of flammable
anesthetic mixtures with air or with oxygen or nitrous oxide. The instruments must be standing free and should not be
exposed to sun.
How to carry out light therapy
Place the instrument on an even surface and connect the plug with a wall socket. Sit down in front of the instrument and
keep a distance of approx. 55 cm in case of the LD 72 and a distance of approx. 45 cm in case of the LD 110. The treatment
time with the LD 72 is at the above mentioned distance approx. 2 hours and approx. 1 hour in case of the LD 110.
If you use the LD 72 or LD 110 move the tilting switch to „On“ and the device begins to glow. The LD 72 and LD 110 must
be switched off manually.
Keep your eyes open during the treatment. You are in the position to read, watch TV or carry out any other activities. After
every 1 – 2 minutes you should look for a few seconds into the light source. A constant staring into the light source must
be avoided. If you want to cover the phototherapy instrument after use allow the instrument to cool down at least 15 minutes.
Important: In order to be protected against UV-rays, the light box must only be operated with its original
protective filter in place.

Fastening of light therapy units LD 72 and LD 110 on the wall
The light therapy units LD 72 and LD 110 can be mounted on the wall.
On the back side of the top of these light therapy units there is an opening in the middle below the air vents (see illustration).
At this opening the units can be fixed on the wall with a screw.
Depending on the type of wall, an appropriate screw must be used,
may be with pegs. E.g. a round head wood screw which is screwed
into an expansion anchor. The screw and the anchor are not in-
cluded in the scope of delivery. The screw head must not exceed
a max. height of 6 mm and a max. diameter of 8 mm. The distance
from the wall to the screw head can be max. 8 mm. The screw shaft
may have a maximum diameter of 4 mm. The load on the screw
and the condition of the wall, to which the unit has to be mounted
must have a capacity of at least 3 kg.
The base of the light therapy units LD 72 and LD 110 must be unscrewed before the fastening. Therefore the right and the
left thumb screw must be completely removed from the foot. So the foot can be removed completely from the upper part of
the unit. Afterwards the screws have to be screwed in for safekeeping.
Operation of the light therapy units with the DAVITON® or with floor stand
The activated DAVITON® (not included in the scope of delivery) reminds you with an acoustic signal every 90 seconds to
look for 3 seconds direct into the light source.
Frequency and time of treatment
If the treatment takes place at your practitioner it should initially be carried out 5 times per week for a period of 2 – 3 weeks;
thereafter, 3 times per week for a period of 2 – 3 weeks. After that, the treatment should take place as needed or when the
symptoms occur again. At home, the treatment can take place daily, especially during autumn and winter time. The best
treatment time for winter depression is the early morning or the time of the lowest mood.
Side effects and contraindications
By using phototherapy the following side effects have been observed: Headaches, nausea, irritability and burning of the
eyes can occur rarely for a short period. An absolute contraindication that means circumstances that do not allow the use
of light therapy units is not known so far.
Please take care in case of all types of eye diseases and the eye specialist should be consulted before. In case of patients
being under treatment with lithium or medicine for example Fluoxetine, Imipramine et al., which increase the sensibility of
the eyes on light a supervision of the light therapy by an eye specialist could be considered.
Safety Check
Only skilled and qualified companies are entrusted to perform safety checks. Suitable test devices and facilities
are mandatory. The medical device should only be used with accessories listed in the user manual.
In accordance with MPBetreibV, the light therapy boxes for use in the commercial sector has to undergo
mandatory safety checks every 2 years or in shorter intervals and after each repair or refurbishment. The operator
is responsible to repair (commission repair) of any defects detected during the safety check.
Cleaning, maintenance and recycling
The instruments do not need any special maintenance. To clean the outer casing parts of the devices, we recommend a
mild cleaning agent (as used for glass). First please disconnect the power supply.
A special maintenance is not necessary for these devices. If lamps must be replaced or repairs have to be done only
DAVITA® or a company which is qualified to do such works.

Packaging: DAVITA® takes part in the system „Grüner Punkt“ („Green Point“). All packaging parts are made out
of recyclable materials and must be recycled in accordance of the guideless concerning each material (eco-
friendly). In case of the light therapy boxes LD 72 and LD 110 the casing and the front of the cover are made of
plastic material.
Fluorescent lamps as well as instruments marked with the symbol of a crossed out dustbin may not be disposed via the
regular garbage. The electrical and electronic components must be recycled separately. Please get in touch with your local
authority to find the right way to of disposal.
For the return and disposal of batteries the battery law is valid. National wide there are re-sampling points. The batteries
must be thrown into the green collection boxes.

Explication médicale au sujet de l’effet de la thérapie à la lumière
On sait aujourd’hui que la lumière es tun facteur de temps naturel pour de nombreux processus physiologiques. La lumière
claire gagne „l’horloge intérieure“ de notre cerveau par l’œil et les nerfs optiques sous la forme d’impulsions électriques.
Elle utilise les informations clair-foncé et incite les autres structures du cerveau à délivrer rythmiquement leurs messages
chimiques. C’est ainsi que la lumière très claire incite à la production des substances qui influencent positivement l’humeur
et que la production de l’hormone du sommeil est stoppée.
Utilisation des appareils de luminothérapie
Les appareils de thérapie à la lumière LD 72 et LD 110 peuvent être utilisés pur l’symptôme de maladies suivants:
Ø dépression hivernale
Avant d’utiliser les appareils de luminothérapie
Avant l’utilisation de l’appareil, nous vous prions de bien vouloir vérifier que son état soit bien réglementaire et vous assurer
de sa sécurité de fonctionnement. Veuillez svp vérifier que l’appareil fonctionne en toute sécurité et que son état soit im-
peccable avant de l’utiliser. L’appareil de luminothérapie est à utiliser de telle sorte à ce que son branchement puisse être
retiré facilement de l’alimentation sur secteur.
L’appareil de luminothérapie ne peut être utilisé que dans des endroits secs, fermés et non dangereux. L’appareil n’est
pas adapté à une utilisation à proximité de mélanges inflammables et anésthésiques avec l’air, de l’oxygène ou du pro-
toxyde d’azote. L’appareil doit être libre d’accès et ne pas être placé directement au soleil.
Réalisation de la thérapie à la lumière avec l’appareil de luminothérapie
Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane et branchez la fiche secteur à une prise de courant. Les appareils de luminothérapie
LD 70 et LD 110 disposent à arrière d'un pied pour la mise en place des appareils en toute sécurité. Prenez place à une
distance d’env. 55 cm LD 72et 45 cm LD 110 devant l’appareil. La durée de l’utilisation à cet écartement s’élève à env. 2
heures LD 72 et 1 heure LD 110. Si vous réglez le commutateur des appareils LD 72 et LD 110 sur «on», les lumières
s’allument. Les appareils LD 72 et LD 110 s’éteignent, eux, manuellement.
Pendant l’utilisation, vous devez conserver les yeux ouverts. Vous pouvez p. ex. lire, regarder la télévision ou entreprendre
d’autres activités pendant l’application. Nous vous conseillons de regarder directement dans l’appareil de thérapie à la
lumière pendant quelques secondes toutes les une à une minute et demie. Il faut toutefois éviter de fixer constamment la
lampe. Après écoulement de la durée d’utilisation, mettez les appareils hors service à l’aide du commutateur à bascule. Si
vous souhaitez ranger les appareils de thérapie à la lumière après leur utilisation, attendez au moins 15 minutes pour qu’ils
refroidissent légèrement.
Important: Seule l’utilisation des appareils de luminothérapie avec les coques d’origine garantit la protection contre les
rayons UV.

Fixation murale des appareils de luminothérapie LD 72 et LD 110
Les appareils de luminothérapie LD 72 et LD 110 peuvent être fixés au mur.Au dos de la partie supérieure de ces
appareils de luminothérapie, et plus précisément sous la fente d'aération au centre, se trouve une ouverture (cf.
illustration). Par cette ouverture, une vis permet la fixation murale de ces appareils. Selon le type de mur, une vis
adaptée, accompagnée éventuellement d'une cheville sera à uti-
liser. Par exemple, une vis à bois qui est vissée dans un an-
crage à expansion. Les vis et les chevilles ne sont pas inclus.
La tête de vis ne doit pas dépasser une hauteur max. de 6mm et un
diamètre max. de 8mm. L'intervalle entre le mur et l'extrémité de la
tête de vis peut être de l'ordre de 8mm max. Le diamètre de la tige
de vis ne doit pas dépasser 4mm max. La charge portée sur la vis
de fixation ainsi que l'état du mur auquel les appareils sont à accro-
cher doivent disposer d'une capacité de charge de 3kg minimum.
Pour pouvoir accrocher les appareils de luminothérapie LD 72 et LD
110, leur support doit être dévissé. Pour cela, les vis moletées gauche et droite doivent être complètement retirées du
support, afin que ce dernier puisse être complètement séparé de la partie supérieure de l'appareil. Enfin, les vis y seront
à revisser pour conservation.
Réalisation de les appareils de luminothérapie avec le DAVITON® ou avec
un support de sol
Le DAVITON® (accessoire ne faisant pas partie de la livraison) émet un signal sonore durant 3 secondes à chaque 90
secondes pour rappeler l’utilisateur de regarder directement dans l’appareil.
Fréquence et moment d’utilisation
Le traitement en cabinet médical devrait avoir lieu 5 fois par semaine pendant 2 à 5 semaines plus 3 fois par semaine
pendant 2 à 3 semaines et enfin, selon les besoins, dès que les symptômes réapparaissent. L’utilisation des appareils chez
soi doit se faire quotidiennement notamment pendant l’automne et l’hiver.
Le moment optimal du traitement en cas de dépression hivernale est le matin de bonne heure ou la période de la plus
grande baisse d’humeur.
Effets secondaires et contre-indications
Les effets secondaires de la thérapie à la lumière sont rares et ne durent que brièvement; il s’agit entre autres de maux de
tête, de nausées, d’irritabilité et de picotements des yeux.
Aucune contre-indication absolue n’existe, jusque-là. Une précaution toute particulière s’impose toutefois pour toutes les
formes de maladies des yeux et il est préférable de consulter au préalable un ophtalmologiste. Un contrôle ophtalmologique
supplémentaire est nécessaire pour les patients traités au lithium et prenant des médicaments susceptibles d’accroître la
sensibilité de L’œil à la lumière.
Contrôle de sécurité technique (CdST)
Conformément aux contrôles de sécurité technique, seules les entreprises compétentes et qualifiées sont à mandater. Des
équipements de mesure et de contrôle adaptés sont une condition sine qua non. Le produit médical ne peut être utilisé
qu'au moyen des pièces de rechange listées dans le mode d'emploi.
En accord avec la MPBetreibV (législation allemande relative à l'exploitation d'équipements médicaux), un CdST est à
effectuer au minimum tous les 2 ans et après chaque intervention de maintenance ou de préparation pour les appareils de
luminothérapie utilisés dans le secteur professionnel.
La charge d'une régularisation (ou de sa demande) d'un défaut constaté lors du CdST incombe à l'entité exploitante.

Nettoyage, entretien et recyclage
Les appareils ne requièrent aucun entretien particulier. Pour le nettoyage des appareils (boîtier), seuls des produits de
nettoyage doux et courants doivent être utilisés. La fiche doit tout d’abord être débranchée.
Les appareils ne nécessite aucune maintenance. Tout remplacement d’ampoule et toute réparation sont à effectuer par
DAVITA® ou par une entreprise qualifiée.
Merci d’appliquer les consignes suivantes: Les produits DAVITA® sont emballés selon le système „point vert“.
Chaque emballage est réutilisable et bio-dégradable. Les produits LD 72 et LD 110 sont composés d’une coque
et d’un cache avant en plastique.
Les tubes fluorescents ainsi que les appareils marqués du symbole ne peuvent pas être jetés dans les ordures
traditionnelles, mais doivent être détruits au même titre que les appareils électriques et électroniques. Prière de vous ren-
seigner auprès de votre commune afin de connaître les possibilités de destruction de ces appareils.
La collecte et le traitement des piles sont régis par la loi relative aux piles et accumulateurs. Ceux-ci sont à déposer dans
les points de collecte répartis sur le territoire dans les bacs prévus à cet effet.
