ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
(To be used with the following models)
JDx3xx & JDx5xx

IMPORTANT!!
After assembly, please be sure to operate the Deck Dolly on level,
hard surfaces only. Standing the Deck Dolly in the upright
position on soft or uneven surfaces may lead to injury and/or
damage.
Assembly Instructions
1) Open packaging and inspect to ensure contents are complete.
2) Contents should be as pictured below:
2 - 7” Tires
Bottom Cross Support, Tube,
and 4 Brackets with hardware.
2 - Base Plates with hardware
Upper Deck Support,
2 Brackets, & Hardware
(may have 2 long or short brackets)

2 Uprights with end plugs.
2- 140 Rear Mount Brackets
Installs with 4 - 5/16” x 1 ¼” bolts

3) Preassemble the bottom cross support tube and brackets as shown with ¼ “x 2 ¼”
bolts while leaving the nuts loose.
4) Preassemble the Upper Deck Support as shown below with 4 - 7/16” nuts.
5) Preassemble the Base Plates and Tires as shown below. The regular nut should be on
the inside and the serrated nut should be to the outside of the base plate. Take care
to tighten the bolt and nuts to allow the tire to spin freely but not be loose on the
bolt. Use 2 ½” x 3 ¼” bolts with hex nut between tire and bracket and flange nut on
outside of plate.

6) Tap ends caps into Uprights as shown below.
7) Assemble the pieces as shown below hand tight with ¼”x2 ¼” bolts.
8) The Base Plate may be tightened when assembled as shown below with 5/16” x 1 ¼”
bolts.

9) Install the brackets as shown below with the hole towards the bottom of the leg.
Depending on how your deck is set up, you may have to install the brackets on the
inside of the uprights. Leave these bolts loose at this time.
10) With the Deck Dolly preassembled, lay the unit over the deck and align and insert
the J-hooks into the large holes. Depending on how it fits you may have to move the
brackets to the other side of the Upright or down a set of holes. The key idea is that
you want to carry the deck as low as you can without interfering with the deck
wheels or anything else. Once you are satisfied with the fit as shown below, you may
tighten those bolts.

11) Align the Upper Deck Support into the front deck mount as shown above left and
below, leaving about an 1/8” of space between the tube and the top of the deck
mount. This is to insure that when in the upright position the weight of the deck is on
the lower mounts. There are multiple holes so insure that the bottom bracket is
seated in the deck mount and situate the top bracket at the proper holes. Tighten
these bolts.
12) You should now align and tighten the lower cross support tube when the brackets
are centered in the lower deck mount.
13) Check all bolts for tightness before operating the Deck Dolly.
14) Please take care to watch the lower deck wheels when operating the Dolly for
the first time. You may have to raise and turn the wheels so they do not catch on
the ground and pull the deck off of the Dolly.
