3 INTRODUCTION
The new generation Sorio® control unit, intelligent, easy to use and set up, is adaptable to all types of valves.
Available in digital, AS-i, IO-Link versions.
The SORIO signalling unit can be fitted to Normally Closed (NC), Normally Open (NO), double acting valves.
It is available in 1EV, 2EV, 3EV and Double effect monostable and bistable configurations.
The connection is made through a cable gland or M12 connector.

4 ASSEMBLY
4.1 Disassembling the unit
4.1.1 Disassembing the actuator unit
The retro information LEDs are diffusing significantly, it is advisable not to look directly into the
diffusion beam, otherwise there is a risk of glare.
CAUTION: Before starting any work on the unit, it is important to ensure that the mains supply is
switched off, that the air supply is closed and that the circuit is purged.
Disassembling the cover
•Turnthe cover counterclockwise to bring the fin to
the stop, then remove it by pulling it up. .
 Disassembling the actuator base
•Disconnect the pneumatic hoses from the block.
•Unscrew the cable gland, locate and disconnect the
wires on the terminal block,thenremove the cable.
•Unscrew the two non-detachable CHC screws.
•Remove the actuator base.

4.1.2 Disassembling the components of the unit
Before dismantling the components, identify and disconnect the wires connected to the module, as well
as those on the connector.
Disassembling the module
•Unscrew the fixing screws and washers from the
module andremove the module.
Disassembling the solenoid valve
•For each solenoid valve, unscrew the 2 fixing screws
andremove it, and theseal.

4.2 Reassembling the signaling unit
4.2.1 Reassembling the solenoid valves
•Position the solenoid gasket by indexing it on the centring pin of the mounting base. One side of the gasket will come to
rest against the orientation piece.
•Index the solenoid valve on the same centring pins. The body of the solenoid valve will come to the orientation pieces.
•Putthetwo M2.5 fixingscrews.
•Tightening torque: 0.4 Nm or 4 kgf.cm
Note: For units with 2 solenoid valves, there is a sealing plate on location 3. To assemble and disassemble it,
follow the same steps as for the solenoid valves.
4.2.2 Reassembling the module
Same as the reverse of the disassembling:
•Position the module in its housing in the base.
•Put the screws and the washers on the mounting points of the base.
•Tightening torque: 0.3 Nm or 3 kgf.cm

4.2.3 Reassembling the unit on the actuator
Reassembling the base on the actuator
Same as the reverse of the disassembling:
•Position the base on the actuator by aligning the
indexing pin to the 1/8 Gas hole.
•Screw both non-detachable CHC screws
•Tightening torque: 1 Nm or 10 kgf.cm
•Make the pneumatic connection.
•Wiretheelectriccablesdependingonthetypeofunit
and following the connection diagrams provided in
this manual.
•Tighten the cable gland.
Reassembling the cover
•Same as the reverse of the disassembling:
•Align the fin of the cover with the stopper and 
bring the cover into contact with the base.
•Turn the cover clockwise and align the cover
sealing fin with the base sealing fin.
Note:
In normal operation, the base and the cover can, if
necessary, be sealed with a wire or a screw which
willpass through a hole that goes through the whole
signalling unit.


6 AS-i MODULE VERSIONS
The AS-i LED modules provide the interface between the peripheral devices (solenoid valves, sensors) and the
command control system (PLC) via the AS-i network.
As standard, AS-i led modules are in version AS-i 3.0, and on request, they are available in version 2.1 and
2.0.
6.1 Wiring to the AS-i network
The connection to the AS-i network [5] (7008024) is established via an M12 [1] lead and a vampire clip [3] (plastic
standard –stainless steel optional).
The M12 connector can be used to disconnect the LED module from the AS-i network and to program the network
address via the addressing terminal (7008215).
If a vampire clip is not used temporarily or permanently, then insert the M12 stopper (7008123) [2].
Note:
•At the end of the AS-i network, insert the seal
(7008228) [4] in the plastic vampire clip.

6.2 The AS-i network
The AS-i network can be wired according to a tree configuration, a linear configuration with sections or a star
configuration. These three architectures can be used simultaneously.
6.2.1 AS-i power supplies
An AS-i power supply is specific to the AS-i network.
•Output voltage between 31.6 VDC and29.5VDC
•Output current:
−4A for 31 installed slaves
−8A for 62 installed slaves
I = (No. of AS-i modules x 0.092) + gateway intensity
6.2.2 AS-i address programming
The AS-i address for the module is programmed either via the AS-i master (PLC coupling, gateway, etc.) or
via the addressing terminal (7008215).
The M12 connector can be used to disconnect the module from the AS-i network and to program the network
address via the 7008215 addressing terminal.
Notes:
▪The module is programmed to address 0 by default.
▪Do not program two modules with the same network address.
▪The AS-i 2.0 modules have an address between 1 and 31.
▪The AS-i 3.0 and AS-i 2.1 modules have an address between 1A and 31A and 1B and
31B.

7 PNEUMATIC CONNECTION
7.1 1EV Sorio®unit
7.1.1 On DP(A)X, DCX3/4 and NEOS actuators
Changing from an NC unit To a NO unit
•Remove the pneumatic tubes 4/6 28 from the quick couplings 7 and 11 of channels P and 1 of the signalling
unit and of the actuator A.
•Disassemble the signalling unit.
•Modify the actuator to the NO configuration according to the valve maintenance manual.
•On the actuator, disassemble the smooth square and the quick-connect square 11a and replace them with a
pierced plug 8b.
•Mount the signalling unit on the NO actuator.
•On the unit, replace the pierced plug 8a with a quick-connect square connector 11b, and connect the two quick-
connect square connectors with a pneumatic tube 4/6 28a.
•Wire the electric cables depending on the type of unit and following the connection diagrams provided in this
manual.
•Restore pressure on channel P using the right quick connector 7.
