GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Carefully study the information below and keep these operating instructions at hand
in case you should want to check something later.
Should you give this appliance away to someone else be sure to also pass on the oper-
ating instructions - the manual is part of the product.
Proper use
The timer switch serves to automatically switch on and off electrical devices and is suited for indoor
use only. The timer switch is designed for domestic use.
Devices that may bear risks when being used without operator attention (e.g. terrace heater,
smoothing iron, fan feater, etc.) must not be connected to the switch.
Danger to children
zKeep children away from packaging material. Danger of choking if swallowed.
Danger caused by electricity
zConnect the device to a properly installed mains outlet with earthing conductors whose voltage
corresponds to the "Technical data".
zEnsure your hands are dry when operating the timer switch.
zMaintain free access to the wall outlet - case of need or you want to unplug the timer switch
quickly. Only when unplugged, the device and its connected consumers are voltage-free!
zDo not use the timer switch if it is obviously damaged or does no longer function correctly.
zUnplug the timer switch from the mains before cleaning the switch or its connected device.
zDo not modify the timer switch. Have a home appliances' or electrician's shop make any repairs
if necessary. Take heed of the terms of warranty as well.

zDo not use an extension cord to connect the timer switch. Always mind to connect the timer
switch directly into a mains outlet with earthing conductors.
Caution - risk of material damage
zDevices with a power consumption of more than 13 amp (= 3,120 watt ohmic load) or 2 amp
(= 460 watt inductive, e.g. motor-driven devices, transformers) must not be connected.
zProtect the timer switch against humidity, direct sunlight and extreme heat. Do not plug the
timer switch in power outlets which are situated near sources of damp.
zDo not connect the timer switch in series with other timer switches or similar appliances.
zDo not connect heavy pluggable power supply units to the timer switch. Otherwise, the wall
plugs of the wall outlet may be mechanically overloaded.
zYou must not use hard, scratching or abrasive cleaning agents or similar to clean the switch, as

PARTS
OPERATION
General informations
As soon as you plug the timer switch into a mains outlet, the dial begins to turn round. The dial is
driven by a small synchronous motor which is powered by the mains voltage.
The dial resembles the clock which completes one round in 24 hours. The respective hours are
printed on the dial.
Every hour on the dial is divided into quarters, that is four equal parts with 15 minutes each. Every
quarter is equipped with a small pusher with its own on and off switch.
Setting the time and switching times
Note
- Only turn the dial as indicated by the arrow.
- A nail file or flat-tip screw driver are best suited to adjust the pushers.

Connecting a device
ATTENTION
- Devices that may bear risks when being used without operator attention (e.g. terrace
heater, smoothing iron, fan feater, etc.) must not be connected to the switch.
- Devices with a power consumption of more than 13 amp (= 3,120 watt ohmic load) or
2 amp (= 460 watt inductive, e.g. motor-driven devices, transformers) must not be
connected.
1. Connect the timer switch to a mains outlet with earthing conductors whose voltage corresponds
to the "Technical data".
2. Insert the plug of the other device (aquarium pump, lamp, radio, etc.) into the outlet of the timer
switch.
3. Turn the connected device on.
4. Push the lateral switch of the timer switch until you can see the clock symbol .
The device connected to the timer switch now automatically switches on and off according to the
specified times.
1. Set the pushers to the desired switching times:
zPress down the pusher: current starts to flow and the connected device is
activated. In addition, a red control lamp lights up.
zPush up the pusher again: current is stopped again, the connected device
is deactivated or switched off.
2. Finally turn the dial so that its timing arrow shows the current time of the
day.
Beside sample illustration shows the time "12:00".

Note
- If you want the connected device to remain switched on, push the lateral switch until
you can see the on symbol .
- Push back the switch to the former position (the clock symbol becoming visible) for
again initiating switching operation with regard to time.
Usage notes
zAs soon as the timer switch is disconnected from the mains outlet or in case of power outage
the dial ("the clock") is deactivated.
zWith the current again flowing, e.g. following a power outage, the dial again starts to turn round.
The time is not automatically adjusted in this case, though.
zThus, check in case of longer use whether the set time corresponds to the actual time.
zThe time scale given for this mechanical timer switch is the quarter of an hour. It is not possible
to set the time as per minute. If you need to have a device switched on or off at exactly 10:08,
for example, this timer switch will not be suited to your needs. Use a digital timer switch
instead.
CLEANING
ATTENTION
Unplug the timer switch from the mains before cleaning the switch or its connected
device.
XWhen required, wipe the timer switch clean with a soft, dry cloth.
