● Neverallowchildrenorpeopleunfamiliarwiththeseinstructionstousethemower.Localregulationsor
insurancemayrestricttheageoftheoperator.
● Nevermowwhilepeople,especiallychildren,orpetsarenearby.
● Keepinmindthattheoperatororuserisresponsibleforaccidentsorhazardsoccurringtotheotherpeopleor
theirproperty.
PREPARATION
● Thoroughlyinspectwheretheequipmentistobeusedandremoveallstones,sticks,wire,bonesandother
foreignobjects.
● Beforeusingthemachinealwaysinspectthesafetydevices,includingtheemergencycut-oswitch,aswellas
checkingthebladesforexcessivewearordamage.Replaceifnecessary.
● Whilemowingalwayswearsubstantialfootwearandlongtrousers.Donotoperatethemowerbarefootorin
opensandals.
● Indry,dustyorwindyconditionsitmaybenecessarytoweareyeprotectiontoprotectyoureyesfromying
debris.

deectorplateorgrassboxinplace.
● Donotputhandsorfeetneartheunderrotatingparts.Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatalltimes.

4. INTRODUCTION
ThisoperatingmanualisanessentialtooltoensuretheproperandsafeoperationoftheES-860ElectricCassetteMower.This
usermanualcontainsimportantinformationregardingthesafe,properandecientoperationoftheES-860.Adherencetothis
manualwillhelptoavoidrisk,lowerrepaircostsandreducedowntimeswhilesimultaneouslyincreasingtheservicelifeofthe
ES-860itself.Theoperatingmanualmustalwaysbeavailable,andeverypersontaskedwithworkingonorwiththeES-860
mustreadandfollowtheinstructions.
Inthecaseofanydiculty,oriffurtherinformationoradviceisrequired,ourServiceDepartmentisalwaysatyourcall.Inthe
interestsofspeedandaccuracyofinformationpleasequotetheserialnumbersofthemachinewhenmakingenquiries.For
themachine,thisistobefoundonaplateattachedtothesideofthechassis.Wesuggestyouwritethenumbersonthefront

5. MACHINE DESCRIPTION
Manufacturedwith34”(86cm)cuttingwidththismachineisrunbyapairof48Vhigheciencybrushlesspermanentmagnet
ACmotorspoweredfroman111Ahlithiumionbattery.
Therearrollerandcutterarecontrolledindependentlyviabeltdrivesoperatedfromthedisplayscreenontheupperhandlebar.
Amechanicalparkingbrakeisttedforaddedsafetywhenworkingaroundunevenground,whenappliedthisdisengagedrive
tobothmotorsforaddedsafety.
Inthedesignofthemachine,specialattentionhasbeengiventotheimportanceofeasyserviceandmaintenancewiththe
constructionbasedonasectionalassemblysystem.ThesearetheElectricalDrivesystem,theRearRollerUnitandtheFront
RollerUnit,eachofwhichcanbereadilyremovedindividuallyfromthemainFrameChassisUnit.
Theinterchangeablecassettesystemallowsavarietyofcassettestobeusedforvaryingapplications.Dennis860cassetteare
interchangeablebetweentheES-860&G-860(petrolmachine).

DEADMANS CONTROLS (ITEM 16)
Thisisanoperatorpresencecontrol.Thismustbedepressedbeforethedriveandcylindermotorswillengage.Releasingthe
handleduringoperationwillcutpowertobothmotors.
MECHANICAL PARKING BRAKE (ITEM 8)
Thisappliesamechanicalbraketotherearroller.Itisonlytobeengagedwhenthemachineisstationary,itisNOTtostopthe
machine.Pushtheleverforwardtoengageandpullbackbehindbrakeplatetodisengage.Thedisplaywillautomaticallydisplay
PARKonthegearselectioniconwhenthebrakeisengaged.Thebrakemustbedisengagedbeforethegearselectioncanbe
changedbytheoperator.
THE MECHANICAL PARKING BRAKE MUST BE DISENGAGED TO ALLOW
THE MOWER DISPLAY TO BE SET TO DRIVE OR REVERSE.
NOTE:-
PUSHING THE MOWER WHEN NOT MOTOR DRIVEN SHOULD ALWAYS BE
DONE IN NEUTRAL TO AVOID DAMAGING THE INTERNAL MOTOR BRAKE.

SETTING FOR HEIGHT OF CUT
Alwaysstoptheenginebeforeadjustingtheheightofcut.Failureto
dothismayresultinseriousinjury.Thelengthofgrassaftercutting
andthedepthofSCARIFICATION/DETHATCHING/BRUSHING,
depends on the setting of the front roller in relation to the main
frameofthemachine.
To set:
● Slackentheclampnutsonthefrontrollerquadrants
(seeimageopposite)[19mmspanner]-Item 1
● Rotatethequadrantsusingthetoothedgear[19mm
spanner],raisingandloweringthemachine.Asa
guide,therearenotchesinthequadrantandholes
inthesideplate.Aligntheseonbothsidestolevel

Toremovethecassetteseefollowingpage.
To set:
● Slacken2-olocknuts(Item1)[19mmspanner]
● Rotatenut(Item2)anti-clockwisetobringthe
bladetowardsthecylinder.
● Checkthesettingusingthinpaperalongthe
lengthofthecylinder.
● Adjustuntilitcutsacrossthewholelength.
● Whenset,tightenthelocknut(Item1)
● Recheckadjustment.
● DONOTsetthecylinderhardtothebottom
blade.
● Thiswillcauseexcessivewearofboth
componentsandincreasepowerconsumption.

heightfortheoperator.
