1.1.GeneralSafetyTips
Beforeoperating tool makesureto carefullyreadand
observethisoperating instruction.
Generally,theoperator ofthe equipmentand/ormachineryisresponsible for
the equipment’sperfect condition and operation,while observing all necessary
safetyregulations.The equipmentand/or machineryhasbeen constructed in
accordancewiththe newestlevel oftechnologywhile recognizingall
necessarysafety-related requirements.Nevertheless,while operating the
equipmentand/or machinerythereisariskofbodilyharmtothe operator as
well as damagetoequipmentand/or machineryand other property.
Operatethe equipment and/ormachineryonlyif equipment/machinery
· Isused forthe task it was designed for
· is inperfectworkingcondition andsafetouse.
It isimportanttoobservethe technical dataofthe equipment, especiallyin
regardstotheenvironmental temperatures. The designated area ofuseforthis
equipmentisclearlydescribed in chapter Designated EquipmentUse and
thoserequirementshavetobe observed aswell.Prerequisiteforthe safe
conduct andthe uninterrupted operationofthe equipment, isthe knowledge of
the basicsafetytipsandthesafetyregulations.Additionally,all current
regulationsforasafeoperational area,for accident-prevention guidelinesof
electrical and mechanical installations, aswell asnoisesuppression demands
mustbe observed.Duringanymaintenanceorrepair work, acleanwork
surfaceisrecommended.Also,itisnotrecommended toeither eator smoke
during repair ormaintenance. Arbitrarychangesmade tothe equipment,which
altersitsdesignateduse,voidsthe warrantyand cancelsthe manufacturers
liability.
· The toolis notinsulated toprotectagainstanelectricalpower surge.
· Itisnotrecommended tousethistoolin explosivehazardous
environments,unlessit wasspecificallydesigned forsuchause.
The operating instruction booklet,especiallythe safetysymbolsandsafetytips
attachedtothe equipmentor included inthe documentation,mustbeobserved
at alltimesbyall persons gettingintocontact withtheequipment.

Disconnectthetoolfromthe airsupply, when changingbits or
when readjusting clutch.
· Donotwear wide clothingorjewelry, fortheycan beseizedby
movable parts.Wear ahairnet ifoperator haslonghair.
· Keep handsoff theinstalledbitorsocket.
· Injuryispossible,if the driver reacts withan unexpectedmotionor when
driver is usedwithabrokenbit.
· Keep handsawayfromholdingfixture (ifused).Thisapplies especiallywhen
looseningscrews inatight area.Thereis arisk ofsqueezing fingers b
etween
holding bracket and tool.Makesurethat anybracketusedis correctly
installed.
· An unexpectedmotion ofthebitorsocketmaycreateadangerous situation.
· Especially, when operatinganimpact wrench, it ispossiblethatan injury
occurs, ifthebitbreaks [flying splinters].
· Whenusing toolwithbit-adapter or bit-extension (i.e. Magnetic Bitholder),
makesure,thatthoseitems areingoodcondition andwell suitedfor the
applicationwiththistool.
· Whenusing ascrewdriver stand, makesure thatthetoolis
securelymounted.If nostandisused, makesuretohaveasolid
stancetoabsorbthetools’torquereaction force.
· Ifyou are notabletoabsorbthetorquereactionforce,usea
holding fixture orside handleonthe screwdriver.
· Afterturning-offthetool,thebit will continuetorotate[inertia].
· Donotexceed themaximumallowableairpressure.Apressure regulator
hastobeinstalled, whichregulatestheairpressurebeforeitreachesthe
tool.
· Avoid pressure tofall belowtheminimumallowable airpressure,because
the clutchcannotshut-offsafely. Thismaycausean increasedtorque
reaction force, resultingin riskstooperator,toolor product.
· Incaseofan interruptionof the air supply, makesuretowait untiltoolhas
cometoastand still, prior toreactivatingtool.

1.3.OwnerObligation
The owner isobligedtoonlyletpersons operatetheequipment,who
· are familiarwithbasicwork environmentsafetyrules andaccident-
preventing regulations.Also,thosepersons musthavebeen instructedin
the correctuseofthe equipment.

1.7.ObserveEnvironmentalRegulations
Whenworking onorwiththe equipment,itis imperativeto
observeall requirementsinregardstowaste-disposal and
proper recycling.
Especiallyduringinstallation,repairormaintenance,water
damaging agentssuchas
· lubricatinggreaseand oil
· hydraulic fluid
· coolingagents
· solvent-containingcleaningagents
mustnot leakintothe groundorintothesewage system!
Suchmaterialsmustbestored,transported,containedand
recycled insuitablecontainers.

manual torque

3Installation
·
Blowout airlineandpressure hose,prior toconnection ittothetool.
· Makesure,thatall air lineshaveasufficientcross-section(see technical
data)andhosesmustbefree ofbends andkinks. The hoselengthshould
not exceed2meters.
· All DEPRAGScrewdrivers maybe operatedeither withor without
lubricatedair(see paragraph: Maintenanceand Upkeep). Best resultsare
achieved, when machineislubricatedwith1–2dropsofoil per1m3.
Whenoperatingwithoilfree air,aperformancereductionof upto20%
occursandmaintenancerequirementsincreases!
· Connect the equipment asfollows:
a) for standardoperation connectequipmenttoamaintenanceunit,
consistingofFilter withcondensationreservoir, Regulatorand Oiler.
Whenchoosing amaintenanceunit, observeair consumption ratefor
the tool(see TechnicalData).

OUR RECOMMENDATION: The preferred lubricatingmethod for the
screwdriver spindles mountedinfixtures,brackets,machines,etc.,eachin
connection withacontroller,ismethodb) withPoint-of-UseOiler.
· Checkpressureat directlyon the machine.The Regulatorneedstobe
adjusted toanairflowbetween 5.0(71PSI)and6.3bar(90PSI).Ahigher
pressureleadstoincreased wear andtear.Alower pressure maylead to
clutchnot being abletocorrectlyshut-offthe motor.

Unlessotherwiserequested thedriver ispresettomax.torque withthe
strongest clutchspring installed on theclutch.Adjustclutchtothe required
torquevalue.Ifnecessary, exchange clutchspring.The required torque
adjustment can bechecked,using aDEPRAG TorqueWrenchor
Dynamometer (seeDEPRAG catalogsD3020andD3022). Thisequipment
can alsobeused tore-adjustthetorqueof the Screwdriver.
Tooperatetheclutch,usingaclutchspring whicheither
surpassesorfallsbelowitsspecifiedtorque range,leadstoa
reductionofthe torque accuracy.
Attention:
The screwdriver isfurnishedwitha reversiblemotor and a
clutchtorquing outin right-hand rotation (sothatifyou look
atthescrewdriver fromtheairinletsideitrotatesclockwise).

ChangeofClutch Spring (seepicture)
Toavoid loosingparts, itis recommended toonly
disassemblethe machineontopof aflat worksurface.
1.Disconnectdriver fromair/power supply.
2.Unscrewclutchbearing (left-handthread).
3.Removeclutchcomplete.
4.Inserthandscrewdriver intothehalf-round boreofthelock ring andturn
hand screwdriver clockwise, untiltheadjustmentnutcomes off.
5.Removelock ring.
6.Removeclutchspring,replacewithnewclutchspringandreassemble
clutch.
7.Insertclutchintotheclutchbearingandtightenclutchbearing tothe
DEPRAG Screwdriver (left-handthread).
Attention:
The clawof the intermediateringmustengage withthe
clawofthespindle.
8.An external torqueadjustmentoftheclutchis again possible (see section:
Torque Adjustment).

4.2.TorqueAdjustment
For an externaltorque adjustmentusethe following steps:
1.Disconnectthescrewdriver from the air supply.
2.Insertthesuppliedhand screwdriver 326240 throughthe slotonthe
clutchbearingintothe half-roundboreofthelockring(if necessary,turn
bit byhand).
3.Byturning thehandscrewdriver clockwise(-), the torqueisreducedand
byturning itcounter-clockwise(+), the torqueisincreased.

5Handling
The operationof theDEPRAGMINIMAT-Screwdriverisverysimple. Gripthe
Screwdriverasillustratedon the picture“Connection of aDEPRAGMINIMAT-
Screwdriver”.
Assoonas you putthebit ontothe screwand slightlypushthescrewdriver
down, it will startrunning.Afterreachingthepresettorque,theautomatic
clutchwill disengageandturnoff the Screwdriver. The Screwdriver will be
readyfor thenext operationafterliftingitoffthescrew.
Althoughthe reactiontorque you will noticeisratherlowduetothe
ergonomicallyshaped handleandthe immediateeffect of the torque-out clutch,
wehighlyrecommend touseanadditionaltorquesupport, if torque ishigher
than 5Nm(suchasalinearstandorlateralhandleasperbrochureD3340 E).
The operatingdirection of reversibleScrewdrivermodelscanbe reversed by
actuating thereversebutton, inordertoloosen tightened screws. Toolwill also
start afterpushing itdown. Theclutchwillbe locked inthereversedirection. An
increased reactiontorque mayoccurinthe caseof screwsarehardtotighten
(suchasscrewswithdefectivethread).The reversebuttoncanbe lockedby
turning.

· Alwaysdisconnect the Screwdriverfromairsupplypriortochangingbits, to
avoidthe unintentionalstart of the Screwdriver, whichmayresult ininjuries.
· The screwdriverisequippedwithaquick changechuck.
· Afterpullingthe sleeve,the bit maybe removed orinserted.
· Makesuretouseperfect bitswithDIN3126 –E6,3(1/4”)externalhexagon
end only.
ATTENTION:
Screwdriverwill immediatelystartrunning oncethebitis
pushed, and maycausesevereinjuries.
IMPORTANT
The screwdriver will immediatelystartrunning when the push-
to-start-strokeof appx. 2mm is activated.
The flowpressure should notdropbelow5bar/71PSI -re-
ducedoutput!

6Disassembly-Assembly
Disassembly: (see SpareParts Drawing)
Prior todisassembly, disconnect equipmentfromair
supply! Onlyexperiencedmaintenance personnelmay
assembleor disassemblethisequipment.
Afterrepair or maintenance,verifythat equipmentrunstospecification!
Principally, useonlyDEPRAG originalspare parts. Otherwise, areduction
in equipmentpower-output and anincreasedmaintenance-requirement
occurs. If NON-DEPRAG parts areinstalled, DEPRAGis justifiedtovoid
anyexisting warrantyand liabilityobligations.
Attention:
Never clampmotorhousingintoavice,withouttheusageofthe
protectivechuckingjaws, sincedamagetomotor-housingand
internalparts isunavoidable.
Attention:
Motor- and gearingparts maybe damaged if dropped!
For disassembly proceedinthesequencedescribed below:
1.Disconnectthescrewdriver from the air supply.
2.Unscrewclutchbearing 386362 Acompletewiththespringsleeve(Ac-
cessories-OptionalEquipment)andthequick changechuckbymeans
ofkey462111(AF 27, left-handthread).
3.Takeoutclutch386361 A/B/Ccomplete.
4.Unscrewreversal 388897 C complete(AF12,right-handthread).
5.Unscrewquickreleasenipple804273(AF14,right-hand thread) and re-
movethe silencers.
6.Disassemblelockring 827407bymeans ofplier461462and remove
supportdisc 801250ando-ring828424.
7.Pushinteriormotorhousing385195out oftheexterior motor housing
386209 towardsclutchside.
8.Removethe4balls802171fromvalvehousing 384717.
9.Clamptheinteriormotor housing 385195 withthe chucking jaws 460781
intoavice.
10.Unscrewvalvehousing384717bymeansofAllenkey800428 (right-
hand thread).
11.Pull out valveset396399 Acomplete.

gap. Therotormust turnfreely.
f.Press air-connectingside bearingcover withthe ball bearing ontherotor.

avice.
2.Pushthemotor-andgearingparts (correctlysequenced)intotheinterior
motor housing 385195.
3.Tighten valvehousing 384717bymeans ofAllenkey800428 (right-hand
