Whenusing electricalappliances, basicprecautions

locations. Neverlocate heaterwhere itmay
fallinto abathtuborotherwater container.
8. Donot runthe cordunder carpeting. Donot
covercord withthrowrugs, runners,orthe
like. Arrangecord away fromtrafficarea and
whereit willnot betripped over.
9. Todisconnectthe unit,turnthe controlsoff,
thenremovethe plugfromthe outlet.
10.Donot insertor allowforeign objects toenter
anyventilation orexhaustopening asthis
maycause anelectricshock orfire, or
damageto theheater.
11. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air
intakeorexhaust inany manner. Donot use
onsoft surfaces,like a bed,where openings
maybecome blocked.
12.All electricalheaters havehot andarchingor
sparking parts inside. Do not use in areas
wheregasoline, paint,or flammableliquids
areused orstored orwhere the unitwill be
exposedto flammablevapors.
13.Donot modifythe fireplace. Use itonly as
describedin thismanual. Any otheruse not

recommendedbythe manufacturermay
causefire, electricshock orinjury topersons.
14.To reducethe riskof electricshock, this
appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is
widerthan theother). Thisplugwill fitin a
polarizedoutlet onlyoneway.If theplugdoes
notfitfully intheoutlet, reversetheplug. Ifit
stilldoes notfit, contact aqualified electrician
toinstall theproper outlet.Donot changethe
plugin anyway.Avoidtheuse ofanextension
cord. Extensioncords mayoverheat and
causea riskof fire. Ifyou mustuse an

performingany cleaning,maintenanceor
relocationof theunit.
20. Whentransporting orstoringthe unitand
cord, keep in a dry place, free from
excessive vibration and store so as to avoid
damage.

NOTE
A15amp,120 voltalternating current(VAC) circuitis
required. Adedicated circuit is preferred but not
essential in all cases. Adedicated circuit will be
requiredif, afterinstallation, thecircuit breakertrips
orfuse blowson aregular basis whenthe heateris
operating. Additionalapplianceson thesame
circuitmay exceedthe currentratingof thecircuit
breaker.

FIREPLACE INSTALLATION
1. Makesurethe unitsMAIN ON/OFFswitchis
switchedOFF (referto operatinginstruction
section).
2. Plugthe unitinto a15Amp/120VACoutlet. If
thecord doesnot reach,you mayusean
extensioncord ratedfora minimumof 1875
watts.

Threeswitches providea choiceof heatsettings.A
switchis inthe ONposition whenthe sidewith the
markingson
(i.e.I,I,orII)ispushedin.
Switch1 (I) Controlstheelectricity supplytothe
heaterand flameeffect.
Note:This switchmust beinthe ON
(I)position forheater tooperate with
orwithoutheat.
Switch2 (I) Provides715 Wheat output.
Switch3(II) Provides 1430W heatoutput with
switch2.

RESETTING THE TEMPERATURE CUTOFF
SWITCH
Shouldthe heateroverheat,an automaticcutout will
turnthe heateroff andit willnot comeback on
withoutbeing reset. Itcan bereset byswitching the
MAINON/OFF SWITCHto OFFand waiting5
minutesbefore switchingthe unitbackon.
CAUTION
Ifyouneed tocontinuouslyresetthe heater, unplug
theunit andcall customerserviceat
1-800-668-6663.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Always disconnectfromthe power
supplybefore attemptinganymaintenance.

Bulb Replacement - see Fig.’s 3, 4and 5
Thebulbs arelocated behindthe backpanel.To
gainaccess to thebulbs, thescrews indicatedin
Fig. 3 (4screws) whichsecure the backpanel,
musttbe removed.
Remove and slide outpanel as indicated on Fig. 4.
Removethe defectivelamp byunscrewing itas
shownin Fig. 5.
Replace with a 60W E12 clear chandelier or
candelabra.Takecare notto over-tightenthe bulb.
Refitthe backpanel andsecure withthe screws.
To removethe fireboxinsert priorto repair, please
remove the 8 srews at the back (Fig 3) and slide
outtothefront asshown
