Warning
Useonlywiththedesignatedvoltageandfrequency.Improper
connectioncouldcauseelectricshockorfire.
Avoidoverstressingoutletsandusingextensioncords.Theoutletcould
overheatandcauseafire.
Donotdamage,destroy,bundle,oralterthepowercord.Also,placing
heavyobjectson,pullingon,orbendingthecordexcessivelycan
damagethecordandcauseafire.
Donotblockthevents.Headcouldbuildupintheprinterandcausea
malfunctionorfire.
Donotstandorplaceheavyobjectsontheprinter.Also,donotuse
excessiveforceonthebuttons,switches,terminals,etc.Thiscould
breaktheprinterandcauseinjurytotheuserorothers.
Becarefultoavoidinjuryordamagesfromtheedgesintheprinter.
Donotusethisprinterforapplicationswheremalfunctioncouldbe
life‐threatening(suchasmedical,space,aeronautic,orother
applicationsthatrequireextremereliability).
Theprinterweighsapproximately31lb(14kg).Whenmovingthe
printer,liftinawaythatavoidsexcessivephysicalstress.Lifting
recklesslyordroppingtheprintercouldcauseinjury.
Locatetheprinterasclosetoanoutletaspossible,andalloweasy
accesstounplugthepowercordincaseofproblems.
Ifthereisdustontheplug,cleanitoffthoroughly.Itcouldcause
electricchockorashort‐out.
Ifmetalobjectsofliquidshavefallenintotheprinter,andthereis
smoke,astrangeodor,oranyotherapparentabnormality,
immediatelyturnthepowerOFF,andunplugthepowercord.Then
contactaservicerepresentative.Donotcontinueusingtheprinterifit
isNOToperatingproperly.Thiscouldcauseshock,shortcircuit,orfire.
Besuretoattachtheground.Otherwisetheprintercouldshort‐circuit
causingelectricshockorfire.

Donotplugorunplugthecordwithwethands.Thiscouldcause
electricshock.
Donotopentheinsideoftheprinter,disassembleinternalparts,or
modifytheprinter.Itcouldcauseelectricshock,fire,orinjury,orbreak
theprinter.Forinternalcheck‐ups,adjustments,orrepair,please
contactaservicerepresentative.
Warning
Donotsettheprinterupindustyoroverlyhumidplaces.Thiscould
causefireorelectricshock,ordamagetheprinter.
DOnotsettheprinteruponanunstablesurface.Itcouldfalland
causeinjurytotheuserorothers.
Donotallowforeignobjectstoentertheprinter.Theycouldcause
electricshock,shortcircuit,orfire,orbreaktheprinter.Ifsomething
fallsintotheprinter,immediatelyturnthepowerOFF,andcalla
servicerepresentative.
Donotopenthecoverwhileprinting.Thiscouldbreaktheprinter.
Donotspillorsprayliquidsorchemicalsintotheprinter.
Whencleaningthecover,donotusethinner,trichloroethane,
benzene,ketone‐basedcleaners,orchemicallytreatedcloths.They
coulddiscolorordeterioratethecover.
Atleastonceayear,unplugthepowercord,andcleantheprongsand
theplug.Ifdustaccumulates,itcouldcauseafire.
Whenprintingcontinuouslyforlongperiodsoftimeinasmallroom,
besuretoventilateproperly.
Ifuseisintendedonatransportationvehicle(train,truck,ship,etc.),
pleasetalktoarepresentativeinadvance.
Whendisposingoftheprinter,peripheralitems,packaging,ormedia,
pleaseabidebylocalwasteremovalordinances.Fordetails,contact
yourlocalgovernmentoffices.
Whenunpluggingthecord,griptheplug.Donotpullonthecord.It
coulddamagethecord,andcauseelectricshockorfire.
Whenmovingtheprinter,besuretounplugthepowercord.
Otherwise,thecordmaybedamaged,whichcouldcausefireor
electricshock.
Whennotusingtheprinterforextendedperiodsoftime,forthesake
ofsafety,besuretounplugthepowercord.Itcouldcauseelectric

1. MakesurethatboththeprinterandthecomputerpowerswitchesaresettotheOFFposition.

4. ConnecttheUSBcabletotheprinterandthecomputer.

Setting up the Scrap Box
Setting the Paper Tray
1. AttachthePaperTraytotheScrapBox.
*Thetraycanholdabout50photos,butpleaseremovethemfrequently.
Caution
Whenthescrapboxisremoved,donotinsertyourfingersinthecutter.
Theycouldbutcutorsevered.
Asprintsarecut,thescrapboxfillswithscrappaper.Besuretoempty
itwhenyouchangethepaperandribbon.Ifitbecomesover‐filledwith
scraps,itcouldcauseproblemswiththeprinter.
Exchangethepaperandribbonasaset,toavoiderrors.
Caution
Allowingtoomanyphotostoaccumulateorusingwithpapersizesother
thanLorPCcancauseerrorsordamagetothetray.
Usecarewhenattachingthepapertray,thereisapossibilityof
damagingthetrayiftoomuchforceisused.

Solving Media Errors

1. Pulloutanypaperremainingintheprinter,andcutoffanywrinkledorpartiallyprinted
areasevenlywithscissors.Printingoveranareathathasalreadybeenprinteduponwill
maketheribbonstick,andthepaperwilljamagain.
Whenpullingthepaperout,pullitslowly.Applicationoftoomuchforcecandamagethe
printer.
2. Cuttingthepaper:
Ifthepaperisnotcutevenly,itmaycauseabnormalprintingand/orthepapertojam.
