Proper Installation
Please rea all instructions, specifications, an precautions before installing an using your water filter system.
Precautions:
For col water use only.
After prolonge perio s of non-use (such as uring a vacation), it is recommen e that the system be flushe thoroughly. Let water run
for 10 minutes before using.
The filter cartri ges use with this system have a limite service life. Changes in taste, o or, an /or flow of the water being filtere
in icate that the cartri ge shoul be replace .
Do not install where system will be expose to irect sunlight.
Your water filtration system will withstan up to 100 psi water pressure. If your house water supply pressure is higher than 100 psi, install
a pressure re ucing valve before the system is installe .
Before You Begin
nLocate the main water supply line to your home an check to see what type of plumbing is in place (ex: plastic, copper, galvanize ).
The main water supply line is typically locate in a basement, crawlspace or garage. Connect to col water line only.
nMeasure the iameter of the existing pipe to etermine what size fittings an /or valves (not inclu e ) will be require .
nChoose a location in the main supply line to install the Filter System. Make sure to place the Filter System in an area after the
water meter or pressure tank an before the water heater. Also select a location that will be easily accessible when changing
filter cartri ges.
nConsult your local plumbing co es an install accor ingly.

CAUTION
Because of the pro uct’s limite service life an to prevent costly repairs or possible water amage, we strongly
recommen that the housing be replace every ten years. If the hea of the filter has been in use for longer than
this perio , it shoul be replace imme iately. Date the top of any new hea to in icate the next recommen e
replacement ate.

STEP 1
Turn Off the Main Water Supply Line
1Turn off the main water supply line to your home.
2Purge all water from the plumbing lines by turning on all faucets in your home an raining completely.
STEP 2
Configure Your System
See the System Configuration Chart below to etermine how you will configure your filter system.
NOTE: For galvanized piping, consult a professional plumber.

STEP 3
Assemble the System
1Dry assemble the complete system (accor ing to the configuration chosen), inclu ing all fittings an valves.
OPTIONAL: If using a mounting bracket (not included), position it on the Filter System Head in alignment with the inlet and outlet ports.
2Measure the overall length (see iagram) of the configure system.
3Re uce this measurement enough to allow for the amount of engagement (X) to etermine how much pipe to remove from the line.
STEP 4
Mark Measurements and Cut the Plumbing Pipe
1Mark the section of the plumbing pipe that will nee to be remove (X) to allow for the configure system (as etermine in Step 3).
NOTE: Measure twice, cut once!
2Using a pipe cutter or hacksaw, cut the marke section from the plumbing pipe.
NOTE: Use a pan or bucket to catch any remaining water in the pipes.
3Remove any burrs or ebris from the cut e ges with a file.

STEP 5
Hang the Filter System Head
1Align the System Hea Aon the pipes so that the inlet an outlet are in the correct locations. The "in" port on the Filter
System shoul be facing the incoming water supply.
2Allow the System Hea to temporarily hang between the two cut plumbing pipes.
3Apply plumber’s tape or appropriate sealant to the fittings an lines, accor ing to your system configuration.
4Make all connections an tighten fittings.
NOTE: Keep the Filter System in an upright position.
STEP 6
Install the Filter Housing
1Insert the Filter Cartri ge Cover stan pipe in the bottom of the Filter Housing A.
2Screw the Filter Housing back onto the System Hea an han -tighten. Using the Filter Housing Wrench D, tighten 1/4 turn.
NOTE: Do not over tighten.

STEP 7
Test the Filter System for Proper Operation
1Turn the valve lever on the System Hea Ato the off position by lining up the re in icator on the valve with “OFF”
written on the System Hea .
2Turn on the water supply.
3Slowly turn the valve on the System Hea to the “FILTER” position by rotating it clockwise until it stops. The re in icator on the
valve shoul line up with “FILTER” written on the system hea .
4Check for any leaks between the System Hea an Filter Housing of the Filter System, an on the inlet an outlet connections. If
there are leaks, see the troubleshooting tips below.
5Turn on the nearest faucet an flush the Filter System for 40 minutes.
If there are leaks between the head and housing of the Filter System:
nTurn the valve lever on the System Hea to the "OFF" or “bypass” position.
nUnscrew an remove the sump part from the hea part using the Filter Housing Wrench D.
NOTE: Use a pan or bucket to catch any water in the housing.
nRemove the Black O-Ring Ban inspect. Clean an lubricate with silicone grease.
nClean the grooves in the top of the Filter Housing where the O-Ring sits.
nPlace the clean, lubricate O-Ring back in the groove.
nScrew the Filter Housing back onto the System Hea an han -tighten. Using the Filter Housing Wrench, tighten 1/4 turn.
NOTE: Do not over tighten.
nTurn the valve lever on the System Hea to the "ON" position an inspect for leaks.
If there are leaks on the inlet and/or outlet connections:
nTurn off the main water supply to your home.
nPurge all water from the plumbing lines by turning on all faucets in your home an raining completely.
nTighten all fittings.
nTurn on the main water supply an turn the valve lever on the System Hea to the "ON" position an inspect for leaks.
nIf leaks continue, isassemble the configure system, reapply plumber’s tape or sealant, an reinstall the Filter System.
‰ If leaks continue, turn off the water supply an call Customer Service or consult your local plumber.

Filter Cartridge Replacement
STEP 1
1Turn the valve on the System Hea Ato the "OFF" or “BYPASS” position.
NOTE: “Off” will shut off all water flow in the home. “Bypass” will allow unfiltered water to Flow in the home.
2Use the Filter Housing Wrench Dto unscrew the Filter Housing.
NOTE: Use a pan or bucket to catch any water in the Filter Housing.
3Pour out the water in the Filter Housing an remove the use Filter Cartri ge B.
STEP 2
NOTE: Have a pan or bucket handy to rinse out the Filter Housing.
1Rinse out the bottom of the Filter Housing.
2A enough water to fill the Filter Housing 1/3 full. A approximately 2 tablespoons of bleach an clean the System Hea an
bottom of the Filter Housing with a clean cloth. After cleaning, rinse the Filter Housing thoroughly to remove bleach.
3Remove the O-Ring Bin the top of the Filter Housing an wipe clean.
4Use silicone grease to lubricate the O-Ring.
5Place the O-Ring back in the groove of the Filter Housing.
NOTE: Make sure that the O-Ring is seated properly in the groove to ensure a good seal.
STEP 3
1Insert the new filter cartri ge over the stan pipe in the bottom of the Filter Housing.
2Screw the Filter Housing back onto the System Hea an han -tighten. Using the Filter Housing Wrench, tighten 1/4 turn.
NOTE: Do not over tighten.
3Slowly turn the valve on the System Hea to the "FILTER" position to allow the Filter Housing to fill with water.
4Check for any leaks before procee ing.
5Turn on the nearest faucet an flush the Filter System for 40 minutes.

ambient air temperature of between 35 egrees F / 2 egrees C an 100 egrees
F / 38 egrees C. Placement of these units in irect sunlight or use of electrical
heating equipment on these units must be avoi e . Replace filter cartri ge when
an as irecte in the installation/ operation instructions inclu e with each
cartri ge. Replacement filter cartri ges are available at retail outlets.
Operation/Maintenance Data
• These filters are not water purifiers. Do not use with water that is microbiologically
unsafe or of unknown quality without a equate isinfection before or after the
system. Systems certifie for Cyst re uction may be use on isinfecte waters
that may contain filterable Cysts.
• This unit is not esigne to filter sulfur (rotten egg o or). Use of carbon filters to
treat sulfur may intensify taste/o or problems.
• Please comply with all state an local regulations regar ing the installation of
water treatment evices.
• The contaminants or other substances re uce by the water filter evice are not
necessarily in your water.
CAUTION
Usage an quality of water in your incoming water line affect the life of filter cartri ges
an etermine when the cartri ge shoul be change . Cartri ges shoul be replace
sooner if water pressure at the faucet begins to rop noticeably or if the filter fails to
perform satisfactorily.
