DUALIT UV STERILISER
Dualit’s UV Steriliser offers powerful, chemical-free UV sterilising for your
home. With no water or chemicals required, the UV Steriliser can be used
to sterilise a range of items including make-up, nail and haircare tools, baby
bottles, soothers and toys and household items such as cleaning cloths, keys,
remote controls – even your mobile phone! The UV Steriliser kills 99.9% of
harmful bacteria and viruses and features three functions to sterilise, dry and
deodorise.
Unpack the box with care, keeping all the packaging materials until you are satised everything
is present and in working order. Once satised remove any tags from the appliance body and
recycle the packaging appropriately. Do not remove tags from the cord. You may wish to keep
the box to store your appliance.

•Do not leave appliance unattended during
use, unplug after each use (risk of re if
an unattended appliance is left operating or
plugged in).
•This appliance must not be used by children
younger than 8 years old and persons with very
extensive and complex disabilities. Children
aged 8-14 years and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge shall not use this
appliance, unless they are supervised and have
been given instruction concerning the use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with
the appliance.
•Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children unless they are older than 8
and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord
out of reach of children less than 8 years old.
•Appliances can be used by persons with

Electrical Safety:
Before Connecting to the Mains Supply
•Check that the voltage marked on the
appliance corresponds with the supply voltage.
Risk of electric shock and re.
•We recommend that the appliance is plugged
into a socket that has no other appliance
connected to it. Failure to do this may cause
an overload, trip a circuit breaker, or blow a
fuse. Preferably the socket outlet should be
protected by a residual current device (RCD).
•Unplug the appliance from the wall socket
when not in use, or before moving and
cleaning. Risk of re.
•To be protected against electrical hazards,
re, and injury to persons, do not immerse the
mains lead, plug or appliance in water or any
other liquid. Risk of electric shock.
•NOTE: Any plug cut from the power supply
cord should be disposed of immediately.
Inserting any cut off plug into a 13A socket-
outlet is hazardous. Risk of electric shock
and re.
• Never use the plug without the fuse cover
tted. Ensure replacement fuse is the same
current value as the original. Replacement fuses
are available and should be ASTA approved to
BS1362. Risk of electric shock and re.
•Do not place heavy or hot items on the
appliance or Power Cord or pull on the Power
Cord. The Power Cord is removable if the
Power Cord is damaged it must, for safety
reasons, be replaced with a cord available from
Dualit. Call Dualit’s Customer Helpline on +44
(0)1293 652 500.
•Do not operate any appliance with a damaged
lead or plug, if the Power Cord is loose in the
Inlet, after the appliance malfunctions or has
been damaged, cracked or dropped in any
manner. Risk of electric shock and re.
•Never t the Power Cord if it is wet or dirty
or using wet hands. Never submerge appliance
or Power Cord and make sure Power Cord is
kept clean. Risk of re or electric shock.
•Firmly insert the Power Cord into the Inlet
located below the box on the rear of the Body.

•Ensure that the appliance is assembled with all
components in place before plugging in. Risk
of injury.
•Should the internal light remain illuminated
after using the appliance, immediately unplug
the appliance and call service centre. Call

General Safety:
• Do not place the appliance or Power Cord on
or near any hot surface, hot hob, gas burner or in
a heated oven or hang over the edge of a table

switched on. When moving the appliance, use
both hands and lift holding the Body upright.

a mild detergent. Do not use a scouring pad
or abrasive cleaner on the appliance. Risk of

•To disconnect, end cycles then remove plug
from wall outlet. Risk of re.
•Product surface and appliance interior is subject
to residual heat after use. Risk of injury.
• WARNING: UV radiation is dangerous for
the eyes and skin. Do not operate the UV-C
emitter outside the appliance.
•Do not use if glass in door is cracked/damaged
or missing. Risk of injury.
•It is intended that replacement of the UV-C
Purication Bulb can be carried out by the
user, read the instructions before replacing the
bulb. Call Dualit’s Customer Helpline on +44

Your steriliser uses UV-C bulb technology to kill 99.9% of harmful bacteria. It also uses unique
deodorising technology to produce negatively charged ions, which helps remove odours from
any items being sterilised.
Suitable for many different products including glass, plastic, stainless steel, electronic devices,
toys and dishcloths. Ensure you are using the correct Function for the item inside the UV
Steriliser.
•This appliance contains a UV-C Purication
bulb, using this appliance in a way not detailed
in the instructions, or using an appliance with
damage to the housing may result in the escape
of dangerous UV-C radiation. UV-C radiation
may, even in little doses, cause harm to the eyes
and skin. Appliances that are obviously damaged
must not be operated. Risk of injury.

SETTING UP
Read and follow these instructions before using your UV Steriliser.

ICON FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
UV Sterilises with ultraviolet rays and deodorises to remove
unwanted odours. Use the 15 minute cycle when one rack
is full and 25 minute cycle when both racks are full.
Dry Dries items without sterilisation in either a 15 minute cycle
when one rack is full or a 20 minute cycle when both racks
are full. An additional cycle for 10 minutes deodorises items
only.
Time Display Indicates how long a cycle will take. Once the cycle
has started, this will count down to zero in minutes.
Automatically turns off with a beep to indicate the end of
the cycle.
UV and Dry Dries, sterilises and deodorises in one. Use the 35 minute cycle
for items that dry fast, or the 55 minute cycle for items that
need a longer time to dry.

USING YOUR STERILISER
The UV Steriliser has three functions: UV, Dry and UV and Dry. Each function has several
programs allowing you to ne tune the functions or alter the time depending on how the
appliance is loaded. Details of this can be found on the Function and Program Chart on
page 11.
Before rst use or after a month of no use, select the UV and Dry cycle button to clean and
deodorise the insides of the UV Steriliser.
If your power cuts or you disconnect power supply during a cycle, the next time the UV
Steriliser is energised it will continue from where it left off. This is a safety feature that has been
enabled to ensure items are sterilised in the event of a power interruption. If you want to
cancel this cycle when switched back on, tap through the highlighted Function until the Time
Display shows two dash marks.

Unplug the Steriliser from

CLEANING & CARE
Before cleaning make sure the machine is switched off, unplugged
and allowed to cool. Dualit recommends cleaning your UV Steriliser
after every use. Do not submerge the Body, Power Cord or
plug into water or other liquid, or position under a water
tap. Do not use sharp, abrasive or aggressive cleaning
agents, bleach or scouring pads to clean the UV Steriliser. The use of such
cleaning implements may affect the life of the UV Steriliser.

TROUBLESHOOTING
POSSIBLE CAUSE(S) SOLUTION(S)
THE UV STERILISER DOES NOT TURN ON
The UV Steriliser may not be properly
connected to the power supply.
Check the plug is in the socket, the Power Cord
is inserted into the Inlet and the switch is turned
on.
The UV Steriliser plug fuse may have
failed.
Replace the plug fuse if necessary and check your
residual current device (RCD).
Never use the plug without the fuse cover
tted. Ensure replacement fuse is the same
current value as the original. Replacement fuses
are available and should be ASTA approved to
BS1362.
The UV Steriliser works but the Function
Icons do not illuminate.
The LED Light Bulb may have blown and cannot
be replaced. Call customer services on 01293
652500 for further information.
There is no illumination inside the UV
Steriliser (Blue for UV, Red for Dry and
Red and Blue for UV and Dry).
The UV Bulbs may have blown, replace both
Bulbs. Call customer services on 01293 652500
for further information. Check if UV-C bulbs are
tted, if a Bulb is not tted call customer services
on 01293 652500 for further information.
The Door has not been fully shut into
place.
Ensure that the Door is closed fully. The time
display will spell out ‘door’ if left open.
MY ITEMS HAVE NOT DRIED
The wrong function may have been
used.
Ensure you have pressed the Dry button only
once or twice.
The item is particularly wet or there are
too many items inside and needs longer.
Put the item through a longer cycle, such as UV
and Dry (pressed twice for 55 minutes). Put less
items into the UV Steriliser, space items out for
best results.
MY ITEMS STILL SMELL
The wrong function may have been
used.
Use a UV and UV and Dry functions to
deodorise or try using the dedicated deodorise
function (press Dry 3 times). Pressing Dry once
or twice will not deodorise.
MY UV STERILISER SMELLS
MY UV STERILISER SMELLS
The UV Steriliser may need deodorising. Run a UV and Dry function, selecting once for
35 minutes, to clean and deodorise the insides of
the UV Steriliser.
The UV Steriliser may have had unclean
items put inside.
Wipe the interiors with a warm, damp cloth
followed by wiping down with a dry cloth. Then
run a UV and Dry function, selecting once for 35
minutes, to clean and deodorise the insides of
the UV Steriliser.
TO REPLACE FUSE,

REPLACING BULBS
UV-C Bulbs decrease in effectiveness over time, therefore Dualit
recommends replacing annually. Not replacing the bulbs can result in
risk of bacterial or viral contamination.
To remove the existing bulbs
Warning: After replacing Bulbs check UV-C Bulbs are working by pressing UV Button.
Both Bulbs should glow and the Chamber will illuminate Blue, press UV twice to end cycle.
Do not touch Bulbs with ngers. Use a dry paper towel or cloth to avoid ngers touching the
Bulbs. Skin oil will harm UV Bulbs. If the Bulbs don’t glow, ensure they are correctly tted.

Make sure the UV Steriliser
is unplugged. Hold the Bulb
so that the pins are vertically
aligned.
Align the pins with the slots
at either end of the Bulb
tting and push up into
place.

click. The Bulb is now tted
into position.

GUARANTEE
This appliance is of excellent quality and construction. However, if any defects in materials or
workmanship do appear during the relevant guarantee period, we will, at our discretion, either
repair or replace the defective parts, free of charge, subject to the terms and conditions of our
Guarantee shown below.
This Guarantee covers both parts and labour.
Carriage is not included.
Your Guarantee period is as follows:
• 1 year
This Guarantee provides benets which
are additional to, and do not affect, your
statutory rights. This Guarantee does not
cover the cost of returning the product to
the dealer from whom it was purchased or
to ourselves. This Guarantee applies only to
products sold and located in mainland Great
Britain. It does not cover liability in respect of
or replacement of plugs, cables or fuses and
also does not cover defects due to:
• Failure to use or maintain product in
accordance with Dualit’s instructions.
• The product being connected to an
unsuitable electricity supply.
• Accidental damage to or abuse or misuse
of the product.
• Product modication, except by Dualit or
approved agent.
• Dismantling of or interference with the
product.
• Theft or attempted theft of the product.
Before returning any product under this
Guarantee, please check that:
• You have followed the product instructions
correctly.
• Your mains electricity supply is functional.
• The defect is not due to a blown fuse.
If you wish to claim under this guarantee you
should:
• Send the product, postage or carriage paid,
to the dealer from whom it was purchased
or to Dualit direct.
• Ensure that the product is clean and
packed carefully (preferably in its original
carton).
• Enclose details of your name, address and
telephone number and when and where
the product was purchased, together with
proof of purchase (e.g. a till receipt).
• Give exact details of the nature of the
defect.
This Guarantee does not cover any other
claims whatsoever, including, without
limitation, any liability for incidental, indirect
or consequential damage, nor does it cover
any claims for conversion or modication
or for the costs of repair carried out by any
third party without the prior consent of
Dualit. If replacement parts are tted to the
product this will not extend the period of
the Guarantee.

but hand it in to an ofcial collection point
