2. Safety
Dürr Dental has developed and designed the
unit in such a way that dangers are effectively
ruled out if the unit is used in accordance with
the Intended Use�
Despite this, the following residual risks can
remain:
• Personal injury due to incorrect use/misuse
• Personal injury due to mechanical effects
• Personal injury due to electric shock
• Personal injury due to radiation
• Personal injury due to fire
• Personal injury due to thermal effects to skin
• Personal injury due to lack of hygiene, e�g�
infection
2.1 Intended Purpose
The unit is intended solely for the development
of extraoral and intraoral X-ray film in dental ap-
plications in accordance with the Dürr Dental
Film Recommendation List� The unit contains a
roller transport system that transports the film
after exposure with X-ray beams through the
developer, fixer and water baths and then sub-
sequently through the drying sections�
2.2 Intended Use
The unit is intended solely for the development
of extraoral and intraoral X-ray film in dental ap-
plications in accordance with the Dürr Dental
Film Recommendation List� The unit contains a

The device may only be operated using acces-
sories and optional accessories specified or ap-
proved by Dürr Dental� For cleaning and disin-
fection of the unit, only use disinfectants that
have been recommended or approved by Dürr
Dental� All legal requirements that apply at the
site of use in relation to health and safety in the
workplace and to the disposal of chemicals
must be complied with�
2.3 Improper Use
Any other usage or usage beyond this scope is
deemed to be improper� The manufacturer ac-
cepts no liability for damage resulting from impro-
per usage� In such cases, the user/operator will
bear the sole risk�
This unit is not suitable for monitoring patients
over longer periods of time� The unit is not desi-
gned for operation within the patient
environment�
Only photographic chemicals that are coordina-
ted with the development process may be used�
The waste water drainage line must have a
downward gradient� The developer and fixer
must be disposed of separately as special was-
te in suitable containers in accordance with nati-
onal regulations and guidelines�
Due to the bath temperature that needs to be
maintained for the process, optimum developing
quality can only be ensured up to an ambient
temperature = bath temperature�
This unit must not be operated in operating the-
atres or similar rooms, in which dangers may
arise from the combustion of flammable
materials�
2.4 General safety notes
• Always comply with the specifications of all
guidelines, laws, and other rules and regulati-
ons applicable at the site of operation for the
operation of this unit�
• Check the function and condition of the unit
prior to every use�
• Do not convert or modify the unit�
• Comply with the specifications of the
Installation and Operating Instructions�
• The Installation and Operating Instructions
must be accessible to all operators of the unit
at all times�
2.5 Specialist personnel
Handling
Unit operating personnel must ensure safe and
correct handling based on their training and
knowledge�
• Instruct or have every operator instructed in
handling the unit�
Installation and repairs
• All installation, resetting, alteration, extension
and repair work must be carried out either by
Dürr Dental personnel or by a suitably quali-
fied person approved by Dürr Dental�
