The Model PIT Pocket Size Infrared Thermometer is
the most portable infrared thermometer on the market. The
sturdy mounting clip can be attached to any pant or shirt
pocket. The Model PIT can be field selected to read in °F
or °C. The compact size and single button operation allow
users to take quick accurate readings.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Measurements
Simply aim thermometer at the target and press the
measurement button to display the surface temperature.
Note: The diameter of the target must be proportional to
the distance from the target. For example, a target with a 1
foot diameter should be measured within 1 foot of the
target.
Units
°F/°C: Use a push-pin to depress the °F/°C button on the
rear of the unit.
SPECIFICATIONS
Measurement Range: -27 to 428°F (-33 to 220°C).
Accuracy: ±2%.
Resolution: 0.1°F or °C.
Emissivity Range: Fixed at 0.95.
Distance to Spot Ratio: 1:1.
Weight: 4 oz (113.4 g).

STORAGE AND CLEANING
The sensor lens is the most delicate part of the thermome-
ter. The lens should be kept clean at all times, care should
be taken when cleaning the lens using only a soft cloth or
cotton swab with water or medical alcohol. Allowing the lens
to fully dry before using the thermometer. Do not submerge
any part of the thermometer. The thermometer should be
stored at room temperature between -4 and 149°F (-20 to
65°C).
MAINTENANCE
A periodic check of system calibration is recommended.
The Model PIT is not field serviceable and should be
returned if repair is needed (field repair should not be
attempted and may void warranty). Be sure to include a
brief description of the problem plus any relevant
application notes. Contact customer service to receive a
return goods authorization number before shipping.

BATTERIES
The thermometer incorporates visual low battery indication
as follows.
Battery OK: Measurements are possible.
Battery Low: Battery needs to be replaced, Measurements
are still possible.
Battery Exhausted: Measurements are not possible.
When low battery icon indicates the battery is low, the
batteries should be replaced immediately with 1.5V button
cell batteries.
Please Note: It is important to turn the
thermometer off before replacing the battery
otherwise the thermometer may malfunction.
Dispose of the battery promptly and keep away
from children.
