This manual gives a general explanation of the tasks of device planning, parameter setting, installation, commissioning,
operation, and maintenance of the Eaton devices.
The manual serves as reference document for:
Engineers in the protection field;
Commissioning engineers;
Personnel dealing with the setting, testing, and maintenance of protection and control devices; and
Well trained personnel involved in electrical installations and power stations.
All functions concerning the type code will be defined. Should there be a description of any functions, parameters, or
inputs/outputs that do not apply to the device in use, please ignore that information.
All details and references are explained to the best of our knowledge and are based on our experience and
observations.

PROPER USE
Any unauthorized modifications to or use of this equi ment outside its
s ecified mechanical, electrical, or other o erating limits may cause
ersonal injury and/or ro erty damage, including damage to the

The rogrammable devices subject to this manual are designed for
rotection and also control of ower installations and o erational devices
that are fed by voltage sources with a fixed frequency, i.e. fixed at 50 or 60
Hertz. They are not intended for use with Variable Frequency Drives. The
devices are further designed for installation in low voltage (LV)
com artments of medium voltage (MV) switchgear anels or in de-
centralized rotection anels. The rogramming and settings have to meet
all requirements of the rotection conce t (of the equi ment that is to be
rotected). The User must ensure that the device will ro erly recognize
and manage (e.g.: switch off the circuit breaker) on the basis of User
selected rogramming and settings all o erational conditions (failures).
Before starting any o eration and after any modification of the
rogramming/settings, make a documented roof that the rogramming
and settings meet the requirements of the rotection conce t.
