DESCRIPTION
The new EAW Commercial CXA80 power amplier features a exible
input/output design that makes it ideal for stand-alone operation as
well as a convenient solution where additional system zones need
to be added. Specically intended for a wide variety of installation
applications, CXA80 is outtted with both a standard audio input
as well as a dedicated priority input, combining to make them very
cost-eective two-input by one-output units.
Two combination mic/line inputs are actively balanced, with
individual adjustable potentiometers for line level input, mic level
input, and mic level input with 24-volt DC phantom power. Input 1
and the priority input are divided into four discrete input sections:
a combination XLR/TRS connector, Phoenix connector, or barrier
strip. Meanwhile, a Parallel output provides handy“loop-through”
capability - the means to pass un-amplied line level signals
downstream to additional ampliers via barrier strip, Phoenix, 1/4-
inch or XLR outputs.
Priority announcements can be initiated with external contact
closures or adjustable signal threshold levels. External volume
control is also possible through a Phoenix connector as well as
a user-supplied potentiometer. Further, a two-position Phoenix
connector allows the internal fault relay to be connected to
redundant systems.
Front panel controls include low and high EQ controls which oer
12 dB of boost or cut at 100 Hz and 10 kHz, respectively. A master
volume control oers output volume control, while distinctive LEDs
indicate power (green), signal (amber), overload (red), and fault (red).
The CXA80 provides 80 watts of output power at 100 volts, 70.7 volts,
25 volts and 4 Ohms. An intelligent output stage is fully protected
against permanent damage caused by overloading, shorts and
thermal faults.
CXA80 operates on 100 volts to 240 volts AC (50/60 Hz) and is
supplied by a detachable IEC power cord. A combination banana
plug/binding post connection is also provided for connecting an
external 24-volt DC backup battery.
