1. GENERAL INFORMATION
LX1NB-5L is SMS/GPRS transmitter in plastic casing for control gates, doors, lighting ith CLIP
or SMS.
1.1. CAPABILITIES
LX1NB-5L offers control of relay ith NC and NO outputs. Up to 5 Administrators and 500
Users can be configured. Transmitter offers:
•clip functionality
•callback option
•“allo all” option
•periodic status information messages
•account balance check
1.2. FUNCTIONALITY
1.2.1. Relay out ut
Relay output can be activated either by user’s call or by admin’s SMS command. It can
be configured to activate for a set amount of time or in toggle mode. Toggle mode
means that output state ill change henever a user call is detected.
1.2.2. CLIP and Callback
The device ill reject every call. If the calling number is authorized, the relay ill be
activated. If a callback option is activated, LX ill dial the number that just called.
1.2.3. Administrators
Administrators can configure the device using the SMS commands explained belo . They
cannot activate the relay by CLIP, they can do so by issuing a special command. Up to 5
administrators can be programmed.
1.2.4. Users
User can call the device in order to activate the relay. Up to 500 users can be
programmed. A call from not-user’s number ill not activate the relay.
NOTE: It is possible to program the same phone number for both
administrators’ and users’ lists. In that ase this number will be authorized to
perform a tions available for either group.

2.1.4. Terminal descri tion

ground during a tivation.
V+ Conne t to the positive pole (+13,8V) of the EBS power

MANUFACTURER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND APPEARANCE OF PRINTED CIRCUIT
WITH NO EFFECT ON FUNCTIONALITY OF DEVICE.
2.1.5. Installation and wiring
All onne tions must be made with the power off.
Conne tions of wires shall be made with due are to prevent any faults or dead
shorts.
Wires should be enter to the en losure using the installed able glands.
The devi e is equipped with a built-in GSM antenna. In areas with poor GSM signal
is possible to use an external antenna ANT GSM ...- SMA M (not in luded in the kit).
In order to enter the external antenna onne tor to the housing, remove one of the
able glands and press the supplied rubber grommet.
After he king all the onne tions, you an onne t an external power supply.
2.1.6. In ut configuration
Inputs IN1 - IN4 might work as normally losed (NC) or normally open (NO).
Additionally inputs might be onfigured as end of line (EOL-NO or EOL-NC) with
resistors 2,2kΩ or as double end of line (DEOL-NO or DEOL-NC) with resistor 1,1kΩ.

2.1.7. Relay configuration
Three terminals are available: Normally Closed (NC), Normally Open (NO) and
Common (C). Please refer to s hemati below:

3. QUICK START PROCEDURE
NOTE :
Do not insert SIM card before the first rogramming of transmitter as it
may block the card if PIN code is required for the card.
This cha ter is ur osed for users that ossess ex erience regarding GPRS
data transmission systems and who work with OSM.2007 receiver for
monitoring system. Other users shall ski this cha ter and go to cha ter 5
of this Manual.
As many users possess prote ted fa ilities spread at vast lo ations, lo al
programming of transmitter is not always available (with PC omputer and
programming able).
Two phases omprise programming in this option:
a) sending to transmitter of main parameters (with SMS) that enable onne tion
to re eiver (OSM.2007 system).
b) full onfiguration of devi e with remote programming (GPRS transmitter
onfigurator and OSM. 2007).
Qui k start pro edure:
a) insert into devi e SIM ard with PIN ode 1111
b) onne t power supply for module
) send to SIM ard number with SMS parameters related to onne tion of
devi e to re eiver (OSM. 2007)
d) waiting for moment, when devi e indi ates onne tion to OSM.2007
e) omplete, remote programming with GPRS transmitter onfigurator
Note: Conne tion to re eiver is possible if the devi e was registered into it.
Registration pro edure has been des ribed in OSM.2007 Operation Manual.
SMS text message shall provide the following information:
<transmitter’s service code>█SERVER=<server address>█PORT=<server port>█
APN=<access point name>█UN=<user ID number>█
PW=<user password>
Where:

<server address>: address of ommuni ation server purposed for olle tion of
transmitter signals e.g. 89.123.115.8. In ase address is provided as domain e.g.
blo k.autostrada. om, SMS message shall in lude DNS1 parameter (address of main
DNS server)
<server port>: Number of port in server that re eives messages from a devi e
<access point name>: defines a ess point name to GSM network.
If private network is used, SMS message shall provide the following parameters:
UN=<user IDnumber> and PW=<user password>.

4. OPERATION
A devi e maintains ommuni ation via GSM-GPRS network. If any problem follows a
devi e automati ally swit h to SMS mode (if this mode has been programmed
before – See hapter PROGRAMMABLE PARAMETERS
). As a result the transmitter may be used only at the territory overed with mobile
phone operator network.
If status of inputs is the same as programmed one (NO, NC, EOL-NO, EOL-
NC, DEOL-NO, DEOL-NC) a devi e stays in a rest. Change of status on any input
results in immediate signal transmitting of this event by the devi e.
Note :
Ea h input (IN1 – IN4) may be individually defined as normally open (NO) or
normally losed (NC). It means that when input was defined as NO, input shorting
will be an a tive state and when input was defined as NC, input opening will be an
a tive state. EOL and DEOL (parametrized and double parametrized) are options
where you use 1 or 2 resistors to distinguish alarm from sabotage.
To avoid an ex essive ost of use related in parti ular to false alarms a devi e
possesses a programmable analysis of inputs.
All inputs respond only to states hange whi h means that transmitting will
follow only if an a tive state is on input and maintains during programmed minimum
time. Maintenan e of a tive state longer than a minimum time will result in single
indi ating. Another input a tivation (another transmitting) is possible only after
input rea hed based state.
Number of messages sent in SMS mode is limited (limit in ludes also text massages
or answers to orders sent by user).This fun tion provides for ost redu tion by
limiting messages e.g. in ase of damage of sensor onne ted to any input. After
passage of programmed time new messages will be sent but only in a number
determined by the user.
Text message on events sent to private phone numbers may be edited.
User an onfigure the relay behaviour and set administrators’ and users’ phone
numbers. Up to 5 administrators and 500 users an be programmed.
All programmable parameters are saved in memory and in ase of voltage
drop that are not lost. Supply of power starts the transmitter with saved settings.

5. CONFIGURATION PROGRAM
5.1. INITIAL REMARKS
GPRS transmitters configurator may be downloaded at www.ebs.pl (login: ebs,
password: ebs)
To install program an installation wizard shall be started that performs installation
in default pla e C:\Program Files\EBS\. During installation pro ess short uts on
s reen and Windows menu may be reated.
If devi e is to be used for the first time it shall be programmed with the
above program and after this pro edure the SIM ard may be inserted into the
devi e. Otherwise SIM ard may be blo ked if wrong PIN ode is entered.
Alternatively SIM ard may be used along with swit hed off PIN ode.
In ase of remote programming it is ne essary to insert SIM ard prior to
sending onfiguration settings. In this situation SIM ard with swit hed off PIN ode
shall be used or before ard inserting, PIN ode shall be hanged with mobile phone.
5.2. COMPUTER – REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements for omputer system where onfiguration software is to be
installed :

oColour monitor (minimum 15 in h , min. 800x600 resolution),

Software:
oOperation system: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
oNET Framework 2.0 (delivered along with installation wizard of onfiguration).
5.3. PROGRAM FUNCTIONS
After installation and program starting a main view shall be displayed on s reen.
Thanks to this view an a ess to program or programmable parameters of devi e is
possible (See hapter 7).
Main window of program is divided into some fields.

5.3.1. File->New
Opens new set of parameters. Editing of onfiguration parameters is possible.

5.3.2. File->O en
If file ontains saved settings, they may be used to program next devi e. Firstly a
atalogue where file has been saved shall be hosen and then name of file shall be
provided. Obtained data olle tion may be modified by the user. Any amendments
are effe tive if send to devi e.

5.3.3. File->Save
During programming many devi es in different onfigurations, it is not ne essary to
have in mind ea h one as it may be saved on hard dis or floppy disk under any
name and it may be loaded later on. This fun tion save on dis any information from
onfiguration wizard window. After a tivation of fun tion a dialog window appears
with request to provide file name. Default data is saved with CMI extension
(Configuration Memory Image).
5.3.4. File->Language
Allows for sele tion of any available languages (determined in atta hed exterior
language files).
5.3.5. File->Connections
Before programming of devi es, a onne tion type shall be defined. It is possible to
do it with two methods:
- lo ally
- remotely.
5.3.5.1. Lo al onne tion
Lo al onne tion means that onfiguration software (namely omputer on whi h is
installed) is dire tly onne ted to proper terminal of transmitter. Conne tion is
possible owing to spe ial wire and through RS-232 serial port.
To program devi e or make any other operations (e.g. reading of devi e settings,
firmware amendments, et .) it is ne essary firstly to define onne tion parameters.
It is possible to do so with the above window that is available after a tivation of
onne tion from Main Menu and sele tion Configuration tab or after li king on
i on on fast a ess bar and li king on RS-232 tab.

Cli k on [Add] button to onfirm settings. Conne tions shall be saved (and inserted
in table). From this time on program shall enable wires onne tion with devi e and
reading, and saving of parameters in LX memory will be possible.
5.3.5.2. Remote onne tion
As provided above the devi e and software makes for omplete onfiguration with
GPRS link or CSD hannel. This programming mode requires definition of linking
parameters.
GPRS link
A tivate file in Main menu and sele t Conne tion fun tion (or after li king on
i on on fast a ess bar) and li k on GPRS tab to arry out onfiguration of this
mode.
On s reen the following window shall appear:
Define:
 Name of onne tion e.g.: Remote
 Sele t name of analyzer e.g.: Primary
 Enter analyzer address e.g.: 87.128.125.8
 Enter port on whi h analyzer operates e.g. 7000
Cli k on [Add] button to onfirm settings. Conne tions shall be saved (and inserted
in table). From this time on program shall enable remote onne tion to devi e and
reading and saving of parameters in LX memory shall be possible.
Notice: The following arameters: analyzer name, analyze address, ort
relate to settings of OSM.2007 receiver of monitoring system. Remote
rogramming is available only if above mentioned device (or software) is
used.

this mode.
On s reen the window shall appear where it is possible to define:
 Name of onne tion e.g. Remote CSD
 Serial port where GSM modem is onne ted (e.g. Wave om Fastra k)
 PIN ode of SIM ard installed in GSM modem e.g. 1111
 Serial port parameters: amount of bytes/se . (e.g. 115200), data bytes (8),
parity (none), stop bytes (1)
Cli k [Add] button to onfirm settings and save onne tion (settings are inserted
into table). Sin e that time a remote onne tion to devi e, reading and saving of
parameters in LX memory is possible.
Note : Remote onfiguration with CSD hannel is possible if option of CSD data
sending has been a tivated both for SIM ard inserted into a devi e and SIM ard
installed in GSM modem. In addition, the transmitter must have turned on
permission to re eive CSD data alls, see lause 6.5.2 .
Programming with CSD is also possible if OSM.2007 system has been installed, and
minimum one GSM modem is onne ted. If devi e has been entered onto server list

5.3.6. File->Automatic device settings backu
All onfiguration settings in luding reread from devi es and saved on devi es are to
be automati ally saved on hard dis . If during installation on onfiguring tool
settings have not been hanged, files will be saved as follows:

Catalog LX1NB-5L_20000 ontains all files in respe t of LX2N with fa tory number of
20000 programming. The name ontains date and time of operation and its type
(saving/ reading). Files have cmi extension.
5.3.7. File->Exit
Finishes program operation.
5.3.8. O erations->Read
Fun tion reads data saved in memory of GPRS module. Ex hange of data follows on
port sele ted in se tion “Sele t Conne tion Type” (See below des ription of option
”Configuration”). Corre t reading is onfirmed with message on a s reen. Data
downloaded from devi e may be saved on file (see lause 5.3.3) and use for other
devi es.
To use this fun tion it is ne essary to define type and parameters of onne tion.

5.3.9. O erations->Send
This fun tion is analogi al to the above one, at the same time it enables data saving
into EEPROM module. There is also possibility to set orre t time into LX devi e.

5.3.10. O erations->Restore default settings
If operation “Read” finishes with error message (e.g. if a ess ode is unknown) it is
possible to ome ba k to default settings by sele ting “Restore default settings”. e
“Do you want to overwrite urrent onfiguration with default values?”. After
onfirming the following window shall appear:

„Events history” provides information about last events stored in LX devi e memory.
