• DESCRIPTION
The Edelbrock aluminum water pump #8841 is a heavy duty
water pump for both street and racing applications. The pump is
a direct replacement for the original equipment pump (Ford
#C5AZ-8501-H) to provide compatibility with all accessories
and pulleys. It offers weight savings along with increased dura-
bility and cooling potential. #8841 is a standard rotation water
pump for 289, 302 and 351-W engines. Not for reverse rotation
1986-93 5.0 Litre V8s with serpentine drive belt.
Polished Aluminum Water Pump #8846 fits the same applica-
tions as #8841.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
• INSTALLATION
Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps.
Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary.
CAUTION: Be sure that fan bolts don't protrude through the
hub so far that they hit the water pump housing.
• NOTE: Check clearance between water pump body and
crankshaft dampner. Clearance pump body or change dampner
if necessary.
• SPECIAL NOTES:
Check closely for any interference with drive belts; some filing
for clearance may be necessary with some applications.
