Please read all safety instructions before using your new Electrolux cooktop.
•Remove all tape and packaging before using the Cooktop. Destroy the carton and plastic bags
after unpacking the cooktop. Never allow children to play with packaging material. Do not remove
the model/serial plate attached to the cooktop.
•Proper Installation-Be sure your appliance is properly installed and grounded by a qualified
technician in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1--1atest edition in the
Unitad States, or in Canada CAN/CGA B149.1, and CAN/CGA B149.2, and the National Electrical
Code ANSI/NFPA No. 70--latest edition in United States, or in Canada CSA Standard C22.1,
Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1, and local code requirements. Install and/or adjust only per
installation instructions provided in the literature package for this cooktop.
Ask your dealer to recommend a qualified technician and an authorized repair service, Know how to shut
off gas supply at the meter and disconnect the electrical power to the cooktop at the circuit breaker or
fuse box in case of an emergency.
•Userservicing--Do not repair or replace any pert ofthe appliance unless specifically recommended
in the manuals. All other servicing should be done only by a qualified technidan, This may reduce the
dsk of personal injury and damage to the cooktop.

Safety
• Utensil Handles Should Be Turned Inward and Not Extend Over Adjacent Surface Burners/Unit
--To reduce the risk of burns, ignition of flammable materials, and spillage due to unintentional
contact with the utensil, the handle of the utensil should be positioned so that it is turned inward,
and does not extend over adjacent surface burners.
•Never Leave Surface Burners/Unit Unattended at High Heat Settings--Boilovers cause smoking
and greasy spillovers that may ignite, or a pan that has boiled dry may melt.
•Protective Liners--Do not use aluminum foil to line any part of the cooktop, use aluminum foil only
to cover food during cooking. Improper installation of these liners may result in risk of electric shock,
or fire.
•Glazed Cooking Utensils--Only certain types of glass, glass/ceramic, ceramic, earthenware, or
other glazed utensils are suitable for cooktop service without breaking due to the sudden change
in temperature. Check the manufacturer's recommendations for cooktop use.
•Do not use Searing Grill on the cooktop. The Searing Grill is not designed for use on the cooktop.
Doing so may result in a fire.
Do Not Use Decorative Surface Burner/Unit Covers. If a burner/unit is accidentally turned on, the
decorative cover will become hot and possibly melt. You will not be able to see that the burner/unit
is on. Burns will occur if the hot covers are touched. Damage may also be done to the cooktop or
burners/unit because the covers may cause overheating. Air will blocked from the burner/unit and
cause combustion problems.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING YOUR GLASS COOKTOP
•Do Not Operate or Clean a Broken Cooktop Glass.--If glass top should break, cleaning solutions
and spillovers may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a risk of electric shock. Contact a
qualified technician immediately.
•Clean Cooktop Glass with Caution.--If awet sponge or cloth is used to wipe spills on a hot cooking
area, be careful to avoid a steam burn. Some cleaners can produce harmful fumes if applied to a
hot surface.
•Avoid Scratching the Cooktop Glass with Sharp Objects.

This appliance can be used with Natural Gas and Propane Gas, It is shipped from the
factory for use with natural gas.
A kit for converting to LP gas is supplied with your cooktop. The kit iS marked "FOR LP!
PROPANE GAS CONVERSION", Follow the installation instructions which are inside the
envelope.
The conversion must be performed by a qualified service technician in accordance with the
kit instructions and all local codes and requirements, Failure to follow instructions could
result in serious injury or property damage, The quafified agency performing this work
assumes responsibility for the ConverSion.

Surface Cooking
FLAMESiZE
For most cooking, start on the highest control setting and then turn to a lower one to
complete the process. Use the chart below as a guide for determining proper flame size for
various types of cooking. The size and type of utensil used and the amount of food being
cooked will influence the setting needed for cooking.
For deep fat frying, use a thermometer and adjust the surface control knob accordingly. If
the fat is too cool, the food will absorb the fat and be greasy. If the fat istoo hot, the food
will brown so quickly that the center will be undercooked. Do not attempt to deep fat fry too
much food at once as the food will neither brown nor cook properly.

*These settings are based on using medium-weight aluminum pans with
lids. Settings may vary when using other types of pans,
Never extend the flame beyond the outer edge of the utensil. A higher flame
simply wastes heat and energy, and increases your risk of being burned by the
flame.
PROPERBURNERADJUSTMENTS
The color of the flame is the key to proper burner adjustment. A good flame is clear, blue
and hardly visible in a well-lighted room. Each cone of flame should be steady and sharply
defined. Adjust or clean burner ifflame is yellow-orange. To clean burner, see instructions
under General Care & Cleaning.

Your cooktop isequipped with 5 different sized burners.
The surface burners are located on the cooktop as follows (See Figure):
- a 5 000 BTU (natural gas) burner located at the right rear position;
- two 9 500 BTU (natural gas) burners located at the left and center rear
positions;
- a 12 000 BTU (natural gas) burner located at the left front position;
- a 14 000 BTU (natural gas) burner located at the center front position;
- and a 17 000 BTU (natural gas) burner located atthe right front position.

The griddle is intended for direct food cooking and can be used on both
sides (Figures 2 and 3), Do not use pans or other cookware on the griddle.
Doing so could damage the finish, With the grate in position over the
burner, set the griddle on top of the grate positioning the notches in the
griddle over the grate fingers(Figures 1 and 2),

Surface Cooking
USINGTHE SIMMERPLATE
The simmer plate (Figure 1) isintended todiffuse lowertemperature of the burner to help
cooking delicate aliment such as chocolate, milk, bechamel, etc.., tt can also be use for
cooking sauce during long period. With the grate in position over the burner, set the simmer
plate on top of the grate positioning the notches in the simmer plate over the grate fingers (See
Figure 2) and then place the utensil on the simmer plate.

Your cooktopmay be equipped with any combinationof the following burners:
Simmer Burner: best used for simmering delicate sauces, etc.
Standard Burner: used for most all surface cooking needs.
Large Burner:best used when bringing large quantities of liquid to temperature andwhen
preparing larger quantities of food.
Regard{ess ofstze, alwaysselect a utensil that is suitablefor the amount end type of food
being prepared. Select a burner and flame size appropriate to the pan. Never allowflames to
extend beyond the outer edge ofthe pan.
You roooktop is alsoequipped with 270° rotaflon flame controlvalves. Those valves provide
enhanced oontro{ of the burner flame, Each burner lights automatically from an electric
ignitor when its centre{knob is turned to the LITE position,
To operate the surface burner:
1. Place cooking utensi_oo burner.
2. Pueh in and turn the Suri_aceControl knob to LrrE. Note: All electronic
ignitors willCliCkat the same time. However, only the burner you are turning
on will ignite.
3. Visually check that the burner has lit.
4. Turn the control knob to the desired flame size. The control knobs do not
have to be set at a particular mark, Use the guides and adjust the flame as
needed. DO NOT cook with the Surface Control knob inthe LITE position.

General Care & Cleaning
CARE& CLEANINGTABLE
Surfaces How to Clean
Painted and Plastic Forgeneralcleaning, use hot, soapywater and a cloth. Formore difficultsoilsand
Control Knobs built-up grease, apply a liquid detergent directly onto the soil. Leave on soil for 30
to 60 minutes. Rinse with a dam p cloth and dry. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners on
any of these materials; they can scratch.
Glass Surface Before cleaning, turn a(Icontrols to OFF. Clean the glass as instructedinGeneral
Care & Cleaning section under Cooktop Cleaning and Maintenance.
Porcelain Enamel Clean burner grates in the dishwasher and dry upon removal. If soils are not
Burner Grates, Burner Caps, removed, follow the cooktop cleaning instructions below.
Griddle, Simmer Plate, Wok
Stand Gentle scouring with a soapy scouring pad will remove most spots. Rinse with a
1:1 solution ofcleanwaterand ammonia. If necessary, cover difficult spots with an
ammonia-soaked paper towel for 30 to 40 min utes. Rinse with clean water and a
damp cloth, then scrub with a soap-filled scouring pad. Rinse and wipe dry with a
clean cloth. Remove all cleaners or the porcelain may become damaged during
future heating. DO NOT use spray oven cleaners on the cooktop.
Surface Burners The holes inthe burners ofyour cooktop must be kept clean at all times for proper
Burner Head ignition and a complete, even flame. Clean the burner holes routinely with a small
gauge wire or needle and especially after bad spillovers which could clog these
holes.
To remove, clean and replace sealed burner units; follow the instructions in General
Care & Cleaning section under Cleaning the Burner Grates, Burner Caps,
Burner Heads. For stubborn stains, scrub with soap and water or a mild abrasive
cleanser and damp cloth. Drythe burners thoroughlyin awarm oven for 30 minutes.
Then replace them, making sure they are seated and level DO NOT put burner units
in the dishwasher.
Stainless Steel, Clean stainless steel with hot, soapy water and a dishcloth. Rinse with clean
Control Panel, Decorative water and a cloth. Do not use cleaners with high concentrations of
Trim, chlorides or chlorines. Do not use harsh scrubbing cleaners. Only use
kitchen cleaners that are especially made for cleaning stainless steel. Always
be sure to rinse the cleaners from the surface as bluish stains may occur
during heating that cannot be removed.

General Care & Cleaning

The Burner Grates, Burner Caps, Burner Heads, simmer plate
and gddd}e shouldbe routinely cleaned, Keeping the burner
ports ciean will prevent improper ignition and an uneven flame,
Refer to the following instructions:
To Remove and Replace the Surface Burner Grate,
Surface Burner Cap and Surface Burner Head - Remove
in the folJowing order; (1st) Surface Burner Grate, (2rid) Surface
Burner Cap, (3rd) Surface Burner Head (See Figure 1).
Reverse the procedure above to replace the Surface Burner
Cap, Surface Burner Head and Surface Burner Grate, Do not
remove any burner parts from the cooktop until the
burner parts have completely cooled and are safe to
handle. Do not operate the surface burners without the
Surface Burner Caps, Surface Burner Heads and Surface
Burner Grates properly in place.

To Clean the Burner Caps, Burner Heads, Burner Grates, Odfice
Simmer Plate and Gridlle - Use asoap-fil_ed scouring Dador
a mild abrasive cleaner toclean thesurface burner caps and
surface burner heads, The Grates, Simmer Plates and Griddle
are designed to be Dishwasher safe for cleaning, The ports (or
slots) around the burner heads must be routinely cleaned, If residue stillremains in these
ports, use a small-gauge wire or needle to clean the slots or holes being careful not to
damage the electrode, For proper flow of gas and ignition ofthe burner--DO NOT ALLOW
SPILLS, FOOD, CLEANING AGENTS OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL TO ENTER THE GAS
ORIFICE HOLDER OPENING. ALWAYS make sure that the surface burner cap, the surface
burner head and the surface burner grate are properly inplace whenever a surface burner is

General Care & Cleaning
COOKTOPCLEANINGANDMAINTENANCE
Prior to using your cooktop for the first time, apply the recommended Cleaning Creme to the
ceramic surface, A sample of that cleaning creme is supplied with your appliance and you will
find it in store. Clean and buff with a paper towel, This will make cleaning easier when soiled
from cooking, The special cooktop cleaning cream leaves a protective finish on the glass to help
prevent scratches and abrasions,
Sliding aluminum or copper clad bottom pans on the cooktop glass can cause metal markings
on the cooktop surface, These marks should be removed immediately after the cooktop has
cooled using the cooktop cleaning cream. Metal marks can become permanent if not removed
prior to future use,
Cookware (cast iron, metal, ceramic or glass) with rough bottoms can mark or scratch the
cooktop surface. Do not slide anything metal or glass across the cooktop, Do not use your
cooktop as a cutting board or work surface in the kitchen, Do not cook foods directly on the
cooktop surface without a pan, Do not drop heavy or hard objects on the glass cooktop, they
may cause it to crack,

For light to moderate soil:
Apply a few drops of Cleaning Creme directly to the cooktop, Use a
paper towel to clean the entire cooktop surface. Make sure the
cooktop is cleaned thoroughly, leaving no residue. Do not use the
towel you use to clean the cooktop for any other purpose.
For heavy, burned on soil:
First, clean the surface as described above, Then, if soils remain,
protec your hand with a potholder and carefully scrape soils with a
metal razor blade scraper, holding scraper at a 30 degree angle to the
surface, Remove loosened soils with cooktop cleaning cream and buff
surface clean,

Solutions to Common Problems
SURFACE BURNERS DO NOT LIGHT
Surface Control knob has not been completely turned to LtTE. Push in and turn the
Surface Control knob to LITE until burner ignites and then turn control knob to desired
flame size.
Be sure gas supply valve is open.
Burner ports are clogged. Clean burners. See Cleaning the Burner Grates, Burner
Caps,Burner Heads in General Care & Cleaning section. With the burner off, clean
ports with a small-gauge wire or needle.
Power cord is disconnected from outlet (Electric Ignition Models only). Be sure cord is
securely plugged into the outlet.
Electrical power outage (electric ignition models only). Burners can be lit manually.
