Description:
This method document provides instructions on how to best use the Electrolux VP2 Electric Salad Spinner and perform
cleaning of its components after use.
Purpose:
The Electrolux VP2 Electric Salad Spinner is being tested for food quality and operational feasibility benefits in the Chick
fil A kitchens.
Process Overview
WATER TRAP (empty) TIMER (1 minute) CASTERS (Locked)
Ensure that spinner is clean
and ready to be loaded.
Ensure that water trap is
empty.
Ensure that timer is set to 1
minute.
Once in position, lock
casters in place for minimal
wandering.
After following proper
washing instructions for
leaf and/or romaine
lettuce, wet lettuce can be
loaded into the salad
spinner inner tub.
No more than 6 heads of
Romaine or 12 heads of
Leaf Lettuce (6#) should be
dried at one time.
Excess water does not have
to be shaken out before
putting into the tub.
Ensure that lettuce is
evenly spread around the
center cone, or load will be
unbalanced and noisy.

Close Lid
Push start (GREEN) button
Opening lid will stop the
cycle. Close lid and push
green button to restart
from 1 minute.
Pushing stop will also
complete the spinning
motion.
If lettuce is still too wet,
fluff inside the tub and run
the cycle again for 1
minute.
Make sure water trap is
checked frequently. Excess
water will overflow onto
floor.
Unload lettuce and store
per eTRAIN procedures.
Clean inner tub in 4
compartment sink using
standard methods.
Rotate tub completely in
each compartment to get
all surfaces clean.
Before removing water trap
to wash, evacuate any
standing water in the
bottom of the spinner
housing into the trap
Empty trap into sink.
Wash water trap in 4
compartment sink.
Allow parts to air dry
before next use.
Clean inside and outside of
spinner stainless steel shell
according to ETRAIN
procedures used for
cleaning stainless steel
work surfaces.
