2. SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
2.1 Allgemein
• Bevor Sie das Gerät montieren bzw. in Betrieb nehmen, lesen Sie die
Gebrauchsanleitung sorgfältig durch.
• Die Montage muss durch eine qualizierte Fachkraft erfolgen.
• Verpackungsmaterial ist kein Kinderspielzeug. Halten Sie dieses von Kindern fern.
2.2 Umgebungsbedingungen
Die zur Beurteilung des Produktes herangezogenen Normen legen Grenzwerte für den
Einsatz im Wohnbereich, Geschäfts- und Gewerbebereich sowie in Kleinbetrieben fest,
wodurch der Einsatz des Erzeugnisses für diese Betriebsumgebung vorgesehen ist:
• Wohngebäude/-ächen wie Häuser, Wohnungen, Zimmer usw. Verkaufsächen wie
Läden, Großmärkte usw.
• Räume von Kleinbetrieben wie Werkstätten, Dienstleistungszentren usw.
• Alle Einsatzorte sind dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie an das ö󰀨entliche
Niederspannungsnetz angeschlossen sind.

3. BESTIMMUNGSGEMÄSSE VERWENDUNG
Der GAS ALARM GX-A1-CO ist eine Kombination aus ext. CO-Sensor und Steuergerät
für Kohlenmonoxid und warnt bei CO-Konzentrationen, die in der DIN EN 50291 (CO in
Wohnräumen) festgelegt wurden. Dieses Überwachungssystem ist deshalb seinem Zweck
entsprechend sehr empndlich eingestellt. Dieses CO-Gaswarngerät darf nur zusammen mit
dem beigelegten CO-Sensor verwendet werden.
Eine LCD-Anzeige informiert Sie ständig über den Betriebszustand. Das Alarmsignal erfolgt
akustisch und optisch, sowohl am Steuergerät als auch am Sensor selbst. Gleichzeitig wird
ein potenzialfreies Relais geschaltet, um z.B mit einem Magnetabsperrventil die Gaszulei-
tung zu verriegeln, so dass an einem eventuellen Leck in der Gasleitung oder in der Gasther-
me kein weiteres Gas mehr austreten kann. Ein weiteres Relais schaltet bei vom Steuergerät
selbst festgestellten technischen Störungen. Das Gerät darf nicht in explosionsgefährdeten
Räumen eingesetzt werden. Steuergerät und Sensor sind aufeinander abgestimmt.
Betreiben Sie die beiden Geräte nur zusammen und ausschließlich in trockenen Innenräu-
men mit wohnungsähnlicher Nutzung, z.B. in Wohnräumen, Läden, Geschäften, Büroräu-
men, in staubarmen Werkstätten, Seminarräume uvm.
Für eine andere Verwendung, als zuvor beschrieben, ist das Gerät nicht zugelassen.
4. MONTAGEANLEITUNG
4.1 Wandmontage GX-A1+
Zur Wandmontage müssen die vier Gehäuseschrauben gelöst werden. Danach wird
die Frontplatte abgenommen und wenn nötig das Flachbandkabel am Stecker ab-
gezogen. Die Unterschale des Gehäuses kann jetzt an eine Wand montiert werden
(Montagematerial liegt bei).
Wichtig! Die Anschlusskabel, die zum Gasmelder führen, müssen fest als
Aufputzleitungen installiert werden.
Der GAS ALARM GX-A1+ und der Sensor dürfen nur in trockenen
Innenräumen mit wohnungsähnlicher Nutzung installiert werden,
damit eine einwandfreie Funktion des Warngerätes gewährleistet ist.
4.2 Sensormontage
Der anzuschließende Sensor detektiert ausschließlich Kohlenmonoxid CO. Während CO,
welches aus Gasthermen o.ä. austritt zunächst erwärmt ist und nach oben steigt, ist CO, das
mit der Raumluft gleich temperiert ist, etwas schwerer als Luft und sinkt zu Boden. In der DIN-
Norm wird von durchschnittlicher Nasenhöhe der Menschen gesprochen, die sich regelmä-
ßig in dem Raum aufhalten. Befragen Sie im Zweifel Ihren Kaminkehrermeister.
Achten Sie unbedingt auf die Montagehöhe!
Beziehen Sie Ihren Kaminkehrermeister in Ihre Planungen mit ein und
lassen sich zur optimalen Montagehöhe beraten.
Die Montage muss durch eine qualizierte Fachkraft erfolgen.

4.3 Anschlussbelegung Sensor
Beachten Sie die Farbbelegung des Sensorkabels, siehe 4.5 Anschlussbeispiel,
S = weiß / M = braun / +24 = grün / +5 ist nicht belegt
4.4 Anschlussbelegung Relais
Bei Anschluss von Zubehörgeräten an den potenzialfreien Relais ist zu beachten, dass der
Schaltstrom von 5 Ampere nicht überschritten werden darf.

5.1 Alarm
Sobald eine Alarmstufe erreicht und die entsprechende (siehe Tabelle 5.5) Verzögerungszeit
verstrichen ist, alarmieren sowohl Steuergerät als auch Sensor akustisch und optisch. Das
Steuergerät schaltet zusätzlich bei Alarm das Relais Re1 um. Die akustische Alarmierung
kann mit Druck auf die TEST-Taste (Sensor) bzw. TEST/RESET-Taste (Steuergerät) stumm
geschaltet werden. Bei Unterschreitung von 50 ppm CO setzt sich der Melder selbst zurück.
5.2 Verhalten bei Alarm
Lüften Sie den Raum und stellen Sie durch Abschalten der CO-Quelle sicher, dass kein wei-
teres Gas austreten kann. Informieren Sie weitere Personen, den Raum zu verlassen.
5.3 Wartung / Test
5. INBETRIEBNAHME / FUNKTIONSTEST
Eine elektrische Funktionsprüfung erfolgt beim Anlegen der Netzspannung, dann wird eine
kurze Initialisierungsphase gestartet, bis der Sensor überprüft und der Sensorselbsttest er-
folgreich absolviert wurde. Die Displaymeldung CO : Ready bestätigt den erfolgreichen Test.
Beachten Sie: Auch bei kürzerem Netzausfall, wird die Funktionsprüfung erneut gestartet.
Zu Ihrer Sicherheit empfehlen wir, die Anlage
regelmäßig auf Ihre Funktion zu überprüfen!
5.4 Display
Das Display zeigt ständig den Betriebszustand des Gerätes an. Ab 50 ppm CO wird der
genaue ppm-Wert ebenfalls am Hauptbildschirm (Display) angezeigt. Weitere Informationen
über das Gerät bekommen Sie angezeigt, wenn Sie mit der SERVICE-Taste durch die
Anzeigen blättern. Diese werden dauerhaft gespeichert und lassen sich nicht zurücksetzen.
Drücken Sie den Test-Taster am Sensor kurz, um zu überprüfen, ob dessen Alarmgeber
tönt und alle LEDs funktionieren. Drücken Sie den Test-Taster länger, um zu beobachten,
wie die ppm-Anzeige im Display des GX-A1+ ansteigt und dieser ebenfalls alarmiert.
Weitere Tests, etwa mit Prüfgas, sind für einen regelmäßigen Test nicht erforderlich.
Der Sensor ist im Allgemeinen wartungsfrei. Befreien Sie das Gerät nur ab und an von
grobem Schmutz oder Staub. Halten Sie das Gerät und den Sensor von Feuchtigkeit fern.
5.5 Alarmschwellen und Verzögerungszeiten
Die DIN EN 50291 legt Alarmverzögerungszeiten in Abhängigkeit der Gaskonzentration fest.

Bei der Entwicklung des Sensors wurden eher die kürzeren Zeiten berücksichtigt.
5.6 Störungen
Das Steuergerät kann eigene Störungen technischer Art erkennen und mit Fehlercode bzw.
gelb blinkender LED ausgeben. Zudem schaltet Relais 2, um z.B. die Gebäudeleittechnik
darüber zu informieren. Nehmen Sie das Gerät für mind. 1 Minute vom Netz und starten es
danach erneut. Lässt sich der Fehler nicht beheben, sehen Sie auf einer der Seiten, die Sie
mit der SERVICE-Taste aufrufen, nach dem Fehlercode und nehmen mit uns Kontakt auf. Es
kann jeweils bis zu einer Minute dauern, bis das Relais schaltet, da das Gerät zunächst selbst
versucht, den Fehler durch internes Neustarten zu beheben.

7.1 Reinigen und Pegen
Vermeiden Sie den Einuss von Nässe (Spritz- oder Regenwasser), Staub sowie unmittelbare
Sonnenbestrahlung auf das Gerät. Reinigen Sie das Gerät nur mit einem trockenen
Leinentuch, das bei starken Verschmutzungen leicht angefeuchtet sein kann. Verwenden Sie
zur Reinigung keine lösemittelhaltigen Reinigungsmittel.
7. ALLGEMEIN
Elektrotechnik Schabus GmbH & Co. KG haftet nicht für Schäden und/oder Verluste jeder
Art, wie z.B. Einzel- oder Folgeschäden, die daraus resultieren, dass kein Alarmsignal trotz
erhöhter Gaskonzentration durch den Gasmelder gegeben wird.
Um stets eine einwandfreie Funktionsfähigkeit gewährleisten zu können, sollten Sie
den Sensor zur Sicherheit nach 5 Jahren überprüfen lassen, spätestens nach 10 Jahren
austauschen.
7.2 Konformitätserklärung
Die Konformität dieses Geräts zu den EU-Richtlinien wird durch das CE-Zeichen auf dem
Gerät bestätigt. Die Konformitätserklärung kann unter unter

2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
2.1 General
• Before installing or using the device, read the instructions for use carefully.
• The assembly must be carried out by a qualied specialist.
• Packaging material is not a children‘s toy. Keep this out of the reach of children.
2.2 Environmental conditions
• The standards used to assess the product dene limit values for use in residential,
commercial and commercial areas as well as in small businesses, which means that the
product is intended to be used in this operating environment:

3. INTENDED USE
The GAS ALARM GX-A1-CO is a combination of ext. CO sensor and control unit for carbon
monoxide and warns of CO concentrations that were specied in DIN EN 50291 (CO in
living spaces). This monitoring system is therefore set to be very sensitive in accordance
with its purpose. This CO gas warning device may only be used together with the enclosed
CO sensor.
An LCD display constantly informs you about the operating status. The alarm signal occurs
acoustically and optically, both on the control unit and on the sensor itself. At the same time,
a potential-free relay is switched to, for example, lock the gas supply line with a solenoid
shut-o󰀨 valve so that no more gas is used in the event of a leak in the gas line or in the gas
boiler can emerge. Another relay switches if the control unit itself detects technical faults. The
device must not be used in potentially explosive areas. Control unit and sensor are matched
to one another.
Only operate the two devices together and exclusively in dry interior rooms with similar uses,
e.g. in living rooms, shops, shops, o󰀩ces, in dust-free workshops, seminar rooms and much
more.
The device is not approved for any use other than that described above.
4. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Wall mounting GX-A1 +
The four housing screws must be loosened for wall mounting. Then the front panel is re-
moved and, if necessary, the ribbon cable is pulled o󰀨 the connector. The lower shell of the
housing can now be mounted on a wall
(Mounting material is included).
Important! The connection cables that lead to the gas detector
must be permanently installed as surface-mounted cables.
The GAS ALARM GX-A1 + and the sensor may only be used in dry
Indoor rooms with similar use are installed,
so that the warning device functions properly.
4.2 Sensor installation
The sensor to be connected only detects carbon monoxide CO. While CO, which escapes
from gas boilers or similar, is initially heated and rises to the top, CO, which is at the same
temperature as the room air, is slightly heavier than air and sinks to the oor. In the DIN
Norm speaks of the average nose height of the people who are regularly in the room. If in
doubt, ask your master chimney sweeper.
Be sure to pay attention to the mounting height!
Include your master chimney sweeper in your planning
and we can advise you on the optimal installation height.
The assembly must be carried out by a qualied specialist.

4.3 Sensor connection assignment
Note the color coding of the sensor cable, see 4.5 Connection example,
S = white / M = brown / +24 = green / +5 is not used
4.4 Relay pin assignment
When connecting accessory devices to the potential-free relay,
make sure that the switching current of 5 amperes must not be exceeded.

5.1 Alarm
As soon as an alarm level is reached and the corresponding (see table 5.5) delay time has
elapsed, both the control unit and the sensor alarm acoustically and optically. The control unit
also switches relay Re1 in the event of an alarm. The acoustic alarm can be muted by pres-
sing the TEST button (sensor) or TEST / RESET button (control unit). If the CO falls below
50 ppm, the detector resets itself.
5.2 Behavior in the event of an alarm
Ventilate the room and ensure that no further gas can escape by switching o󰀨 the CO source.
Inform other people to leave the room.
5.3 Maintenance / test
5. COMMISSIONING / FUNCTIONAL TEST
An electrical function test is carried out when the mains voltage is applied, then a short
initialization phase is started until the sensor is checked and the sensor self-test has been
successfully completed. The display message CO: Ready conrms the successful test.
Please note: The function test is restarted even after a brief power failure.
For your safety, we recommend using the system
to check their function regularly!
5.4 Display
The display constantly shows the operating status of the device. From 50 ppm CO, the
exact ppm value is also shown on the main screen (display). You can get more information
about the device by scrolling through the displays with the SERVICE button. These are
saved permanently and cannot be reset.
Briey press the test button on the sensor to check whether its alarm device sounds and
all LEDs work. Press the test button longer to observe how the ppm reading in the display
of the GX-A1 + rises and the GX-A1 + also issues an alarm.
Further tests, for example with test gas, are not required for a regular test.
The sensor is generally maintenance-free. Only occasionally remove coarse dirt or dust
from the device. Keep the device and the sensor away from moisture.
5.5 Alarm thresholds and delay times
DIN EN 50291 denes alarm delay times depending on the gas concentration.

When developing the sensor, the shorter times were taken into account.
5.6 Malfunctions
The control unit can recognize its own technical faults and output them with an error code or
a yellow ashing LED. In addition, relay 2 switches, e.g. to inform the building management
system about it. Unplug the device for at least 1 minute and then restart it. If the error cannot
be rectied, look for the error code on one of the pages that you call up with the SERVICE
button and contact us. It can take up to a minute for the relay to switch, as the device rst tries
to correct the error by internally restarting it.

7.1 Cleaning and care
Avoid the inuence of moisture (spray or rain water), dust and direct sunlight on the device.
Only clean the device with a dry linen cloth, which can be slightly damp if it is heavily soiled.
Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents for cleaning.
7. GENERAL
Elektrotechnik Schabus GmbH & Co. KG is not liable for damage and / or loss of any kind,
such as individual or consequential damage, resulting from the gas detector not giving an
alarm signal despite the increased gas concentration.
In order to be able to guarantee perfect functionality at all times, you should have the sensor
checked after 5 years to be on the safe side, or replaced after 10 years at the latest.
