The Standard Outdoor Pushbutton
Timer (3 wire) is part of the Elkay
family of switches, timers and
detectors which save energy and
increase convenience in and around
your home, garden or premises.
Rating at 240V ac 50Hz
• Time Delay: 2 min - 1 hour
• Lighting load types only 10A - Including
lighting loads that are LED, Compact
Fluorescent, Incandescent and Resistive
• This switch can also switch contactors
provided a capacitor is fi tted across
the coil
• IP66
Fitting and Operating Instructions
This product can ONLY be used with the
back box supplied and can be used in
outdoor and bathroom applications.
Failure to use the back box provided will
invalidate the warranty. It is essential that
that the correct IP66 rated connections
are made to keep the IP66 rating of
the back box maintained.
1. Take the surface mount box and remove
knockouts as required. Ideally remove
with a hole saw for cleanest eff ect and
remove any burrs. Drill a small 3mm
drain hole at the back of the box in the
position marked ‘DRAIN‘. Drill outwards
from the inside of the box.
2. Mount the surface mount box on a secure
surface using the mounting pack supplied.
Place screw cover seal over the rear
mounting screws after screwing the box
to the wall.
3. It is essential to maintain the IP rating with
all connections to the box. Please use a
suitable M20 cable gland and use
appropriate sealing washers. For steel wired
armoured connections to the box use a nylon
20mm seal to maintain IP rating. Seals have
been provided for your convenience.
4. Prior to fi tting ensure mains power is
switched OFF and live in, live out and neutral
wires are identifi ed. Where applicable
remove metal back box lugs that are
not being used.
5. Securely fi t live in, live out and neutral
wires into terminals marked Lin, Lout & N.

All wiring should be carried out by a competent person
or a qualifi ed electrician and should be fi tted to current
IEE wiring regulations BS 7671. The circuit should be
isolated before carrying out any work. Failure to adhere
to the instructions will invalidate the warranty.

6. Turn mains power ON. Put the product
in 10-15 second test mode.
7. Press the Pushbutton timer button
to switch the load ON. The Pushbutton
timer will turn the Load OFF
automatically once the required time
delay selected has elapsed.
8. The Timer can be also act as an on/off
switch. Press to turn switch ON and to
turn OFF simply press and hold the timer
button for 3 seconds and the load will
switch OFF immediately.
9. Set the required time delay with reference
to Timing Diagram.
10.Once the installation is fully tested and
working as required ensure the timer is
secured to the back box.
11. A capacitor will be required when switching
low power or low energy lighting.
For example: LED, 2-D fi ttings, energy
saving lamps, etc. One capacitor per
circuit must be fi tted at the light fi tting.
